I finally got this and I love it!! I’m using it to organize and storyboard our newest projects, and it’s so easy to use. At first when I watched this video a few months ago I thought this was too much for what I do. Now all of a sudden we are on much bigger projects and this is 💯 useful. And I will be using it from here on out for all of our video productions. It’s so great!
Just getting started on my first YT video and I had seen Milanote suggested, so I started using it. I am including it in my first video because I am documenting the process of becoming a youtuber. I've been a photographer for a long time, and done video work and all the tech stuff is pretty easy to grasp, but everything else is a huge challenge and fun. My Current Milanote scheme is figuring it out on the fly but this video is so helpful. Learning something uncharted can be tough, and I love the flexibility in Milanote but the whole process you laid out that you use will come in handy! Thanks so much for doing this video!
Literally took 1 hour after watching this to know this is what I needed. Thanks for the heads up. A six month free subscription should be part of every creative's ADD therapy package.
This is amazing Dunna, the planning part can make or break your videos and getting to know how you organise your creations is such an inspiration. Thanks mate, you did it!
@@dunnadiditDo you think we can use Milanote as a pure note-taking app? Other than for creative or planning projects but really like a taking-note app? Milanote is so smooth and nice to use it but I have doubts about long-term second brain use. What do you think about it? Thanks to you.
Dude, I just found you because of your lens reviews (which are awesome, especially the sony 20mil 1.8, best lens review I have seen) and now you are releasing this video!? I searched for a video like this for weeks! Thank you for sharing your process of planning and creating a video. That was great help and very cool software. Going to check it out right now! Thanks for your great work!
Thanks mate for making this video I have finally chosen to take my pre-production and planning seriously, so finding this video and picking up milanote has got me feeling confident
Hey Dunna, I found this video while searching for a way to plan our youtube videos. Milanote looks like just what I've been needing to keep all the jumbled thoughts in my head organized! I just recreated your video planning template as I watched, looks like a great starting point. Thanks for doing this video!
Great video!!!!! Thanks a lot for all your explanations. You really make me want to use this app and I am sure it will help me a lot 😀👍!!! Thank you so much ❤️👍
Seems to be a really good, productive app to organize my RUclips video ideas. At the moment I use many different apps to organize my ideas & wright down a skript and Im searching for an all in one solution which integrates also mood boards. Thanks for this video!👍🏻
I've just started using it. Much easier than my old manila folder/list system. The ease with which to get some orderly visuals going is great and aesthetically superior.
Agreed. There are a lot of organizational apps out there but there is something to the look and feel of Milanote that is great and makes me WANT to use it.
@dunnadidit, Can you explain how you created the "feeling stuck?" text at 2:48? I had trouble aligning the text to the right like you did. Did you use an image for that?
i'm already using Milanote (free version) and i think it's adding an extra layer/step on the production pipeline that i don't need. i'm a developper by trade and i use a gantt chart for my projects even if i hate it (it's helping me to keep track of what to do, the progress and where i'm at globally on the project. Sometime you just have to shoot and do your best. eventually, you'll get good at this (you already are there, that's good)... i don't see why you need milanote for that (even if it's a sponsored video like Becky&Chris just did yesterday). Now, i'm waiting for your next studio tour you told me! 👍
That’s interesting! I actually find that the way I use Milanote to be that kind of perfect happy medium between something that keeps me on track and also just a good place to get all my thoughts down. Sometimes I fill in half my template and then just go shoot and ignore the rest because I got what I needed. But filling in that first part is really important to organize my ideas.
Thanks for this video. I have the same problem; my brain also freezes when I get too much information or see too many things. I have a lot of ideas for my RUclips channel, but I need to organize it in a certain way. Milanote could be the solution, but I need to dig deeper into how it works and if it will work for me. But that said, I have another question related to this topic: how do you organize the actual making of the video. So where do you start? First the sound or adjusting the color, or immediately cut and paste. Separate the available media into scenes and B-Roll? Or something completely different. In other words; what is the process of creating a video from start to finish (Deliver/Render). Thank you in advance. If you have already made a video about this, I would love to hear about it. Not yet, perhaps an idea?
Well, let's cue the Rod Serling Twilight Zone intro here b/c you did anticipate the next need in my new world of videography. Not only that but you managed at 8:22 to get my initials on the new Template Convert context menu. Okay, real weirdness is going on here. Anyhoo, I just rec'd from Ama-you-know-who some spiral-bound project planners, nice little 7"x9" lined, 2-column pages for planning/record-keeping my video shoots. The drawback is I have to write in these books. I began a template checklist in Excel to print out and tape in my project planner on every page that will start a new project. Darned if you don't come along with a digital deal almost exactly like what I was creating in my tree-pulp & pencil deal! Sooo, while checking out Milanote, I'll be figuring out how to rationalize the $15 I spent on project books. ► One thing I did not see in your template was an equipment/props list to go along with the shot list, which will be very necessary for this beginner for each shoot, else I'll be scrounging for a cable for sure. I suspect it is a subcategory in your template somewhere but not a big need for a pro such as yourself. Hey, I'll thank you later after I get over my wasted time with these cute little spiral books. 😂
Haha sounds serendipitous to me! I like the idea of physical organization… but that’s about as far as it goes. I love being able to access all of my organization across my devices. Hopefully Milanote can offer you what you need!
2:32 what music gear do you have? I’ve got a J mascis jazzmaster and I’m in the market for a new bass. Had a squier jaguar bass but sold it a while back.
Please host an editing competition. I saw your editing competition that you did 1 year ago. It was amazing and i really want to participate in this editing challenge. so please host an editing contest and please provide clips because everyone doen't have good camera. (Including me) LOL

Thanks a ton Curtis!
The best video I can find on the internet about how to plan a video. You made my internet bill even worth the cost bro, best video as always.

Haha you’re not alone
Milanote needs a native iPad app!!!!
Yeah I’d be into that! The draw feature would be awesome on iPad!
helpful breakdown! any chance that you’ve made that template available?
I haven’t! But I’ll look into that!
No pricing anywhere?!
Milanote.com/plans for their options. The free trial is fully functional and just caps at a certain amount of stuff you can add.
Would you ever share your template?
☺️

I don’t trust any web site that doesn’t put there pricing up front, that’s a huge red flag for me.
Hey Jeff, I’m not sure why I found it so easy and others are struggling but they do have a plans and pricing page Milanote.com/plans
Keep it simple, keep it sexy
Not free, dude. Implying it is free is dishonest.
