He made the show for me. Joel realizes you HAVE to empathize with your actor or he would have been just plain annoying. He turned out to be the true heart of the show. I was blown away by his performances AND the show itself. One of the best!
So I am just binge watching during the coronavirus pandemic and I’m floored. This show is soon and Joel’s + Mirielle’s performances are just on another level. This is so cliche, but I laughed and cried just getting lost in the show.
His portrayal of Holder is what makes the show worth watching because he’s not overdramatizing for Hollywood. It’s a very real character with crippling problems, with the drive to do better.
I love seeing his interviews because he seems to have a similar personality to his character in The Killing. His voice is exactly the same and I'm surprised by that being that he grew up in Sweden.

At first his character seemed annoying and a horrible cop but then when u get to know him ur mind changes. I grew to love him and root for him he’s an amazing actor.
Should check him out in "Hanna". He only present in Season 1. Beard-free and moustache-free Holder is so handsome. His character is awesome too there. It's a shame that him and Linden is enemies there.
