i noticed in your lower fire box the metal wall is begining to break from the constant heat from cooks, some people jacket insert stainless steel to hold the wall better

I did this mod, but ran into the problem of ash not falling through the grate, and the fire dying out.

That's strange with this particular mod. If you used larger skewers or more, I could see that. But this one has been holding up good for me. Can you send me a picture of how your mod is? [e-mail]
