Another massive episode! Dave's inside the cabin now and wires up the DBW pedal then moves onto the ignition switch and the bump & creep buttons. While still in the cabin Dave also crimps the coil wires and completes the ignition loom. Back in the engine bay Dave repositions the factory headlights/blinkers loom so it's nicely tucked out of the way. Plenty of tips and hacks in this massive episode - enjoy! -------------------------- Want to skip to the section you're most interested in? What is that sheath material that you slide over the different groups of wires? It looks like a braided nylon type material. Thanks if I missed it in the video! 👍🏼
Question on the "tessa" tape, is there really a difference between that standard stuff and the high temp? I just see them terms thrown around the internet and just curious if they are in fact 2 different tapes or just another name for the same product.
There are quite a few different Tesa tapes, most people refer to 51608 as normal and 51026 or 51036 as high temp. 51608 is the fluffy style fleece tape that you usually see in the interior of a car whereas 51026/51036 is a cloth tape that you usually find under the bonnet etc.
Can you join all of the coil grounds before they make a connection to the grounding point? I can't see the reason not to if you take into account that you need a thicker wire for those (or do you? I'll be running a 4 banger with direct spark so only one coil will be firing at a time, seems like you shouldn't need to run a thicker wire after a joint like that)
Personally I like to run the coil grounds to the head they are sparking to. So in your case, all 4 coil grounds will be able to just go to a common grounding point on the head. Its entirely up to you ow they get there...
fleece tape, fleece tape, fleece tape. I went to so many stores, trying to buy that months ago..................................... "No!" "Cloth Electrical tape" "Fabric Tape for Electrical" "Cloth, Not woven tape". Thank you again, fleece tape.

You're the fucking man!
Have you ever used coroplast fabric tape ? this is what the dealer used (gm/vauxhall). I use a combination of tesa and coroplast. regards Joe
Very very nice job. Well done. I bet to wire a car like this I'd need to sell a kidney lol.
It does take a bit longer when you have to video it as well.

Any videos on how to incorporate the circuit breaker on the 12 volt side?
What tape is that you used at @26:10

@@haltech Any chance of getting access to the pinout used for the connector?
Hi Dave
I would like to know where your diagrams (plugs ) are comming from !
I will be safe with that !
Did it take anyone else ages to work out that was a light for filming & not an indicator?
