There's not allot of card shows in London and I don't want to drive to other places or I more on petrol than I am at the card show if you get what I mean
I just enjoy opening the packs to see what I get🥹truly enjoying that, specially with the rare and ultra rare illustrations, or EX cards. Perhaps it’s not the best but I buy from different packs to check out what comes in it. I don’t like to see the content of every set, I love to be surprised✨
same im 21 currently and ive gotten the urge, when I was a kid I had so many cards and stuff but never like stored them or anything just kept em in a rubber band but now I wanna go all in and just collect and like store them correctly
@@FahimPlayz ah dude! I have my original cards from the early 2000s base sets, however although they’re not bent or creased they were played with a lot, I have a lot of good holos that have shuffle scratches etc 😬
Im going in hard. I bought some 900 slot binders. Penny sleves top loaders and a mat... i baught a collection box and ill even be wearing gloves when i handle cards raw. Im so excited to start this journey again. Im doing it right this thime.
Im 30 now. Starting with: 151 because they were my first love, sword and shield cause this banger generation brought me back into pokemon and the McDonald set cause they were the first cards i held in 20 years and it made me want to have them again.
I've been buying Pokemon cards for a couple years and didn't really have a goal. Sure spent a lot of money! Now I'm narrowing it down -- think I want to do a National Pokedex collection (just base cards but every Pokemon), a Pikachu collection because I'm basic, and Special Illustration Rares, which will be expensive but they're just so gorgeous.
I just bought my first 3 packs and a binder I didn’t go crazy with the packs because I just wanna try it. If I really like it, I’ll spend more but for now I only spend a little but I made sure to pick the packs I like and that usually have good pulls
I bought my very 1st pack on a whim yesterday and pulled a hyper rare iron valiant ex. I think im gonna start collecting now and will probably be sad everytime i dont get the same kind of pull. Haha
I really hope that by November 18th the Crown Zenith Elite trainer box stays £50. I Really love Lucario but I don't have the money for it right now. But I got no hope
I already had my goal before even starting to collect: Pretty or impressive art, especially full arts. I'm an artist and when I see a card that is to expensive, I just go "Nope" and make myself a own version. Also thanks for the video, it was really helpful
hmmmm so something worth a try is car boot sales and popping your head in charity shops as you never know...but best bet is card shows I would say as you get to really see the condition
@@Mattculli I don't want vintage cards (base set, base set 2, jungle, fossil and team rocket) to be fake. I am not sure if it worth buying vintage cards from card shops?
Hi, I just caught your video. Thank you very much for making this. I have never been into Pokemon when they first came out, or since, never seen the cartoon and I can only name Pikachu or Charizard off the top of my head, but I LOVE watching pack opening videos. I want to experience that... whether it's for the artwork, the gamble or the rare chance of making my money back, even if it's only a few pence. I would maybe like to open a few packs and then I feel I am done and can pass the cards on. I saw a local bookshop had a couple of blue and red tins (forgot what they were called) and WH Smiths had a big box set which only had 6 packs in. AM I just as likely to pull a decent set of cards from those as I am from a specific gaming shop?
Nice quote at the end there:
"Love it, and if you're not loving it, it's probably not the right hobby for you."
It’s true 😊
its too late ive already started collecting .....!
Haha

Pokemon center selling booster boxes for £150,you can get it for £100 or less
True however that’s price per pack they charge and atleast it’s a good start point
Where do you suggest buying the booster boxes brother

Cardmarket is the EU equivelent to TCGplayer
Yeah I know a few use this I tend to use tvgplayer myself as I feel it has the bigger database

I live in the US any website or anything specifically for that?
Hmmm so I’m not based there but I have used a US site called safari-zone when I used to buy from US and ship back to the uk
When is the next one in Brighton? 😊
I'm going to start soon and I only want Gengar
@mattculli do you have any tips specifically for collecting more vintage Pokémon cards?
hmmmm so something worth a try is car boot sales and popping your head in charity shops as you never know...but best bet is card shows I would say as you get to really see the condition

Which series should I start buying ?
Go for the latest set which right now is Shrouded Fable it comes out August 4th! So good time to start!
Thanks for the tips! I'm starting my journey tomorrow 😊
Good Luck!
Is pricecharting a reliable source for checking the price of a card ?
how do you decide on a set though
So I would suggest looking at what’s in them and seeing in any cards take your fancy then go from there

I started collecting with the English 151 but it started getting sooo expensive (10 pound per pack) so now im on the japanese set lmao
I think there UPC just went up on the Pokemon center website so grab them if you can
I also did the Japanese , I also feel like the pull rate for the Japanese packs are better than English
Is whatnot reputable?
Not cheap but it's all goooood its so funn.😂
there should be an App! you can scan the cards and check them off. Like WTF lol
Don’t open a single pack.
I’m broke so I’m doing that
Goodbye wallet😢
How to start Collection :
Pokémon Stocks since scalpers : Thats the net point, you dont

It’s a good side yeah but do check eBay solds too for even more accurate detail as they don’t do a played or near mint price this just have them mixed
