Yes, but you hit the paak sau at his elbow area. If you would hit the fist, then he could probably hit you with his elbow. And it´s not as easy as it seems. :D
It looks more like a push than a slap. Sifu Alan Lee's pak sau is actually slapping the hand / arm away. After a person punches they wouldn't leave their arm out. Which one is right?
Which one is right? It depends on the situation. Anyways, from what i understand Paak Sau is not meant to be used on an opponent that threw a punch at you, you are supposed to use it on their guard, not on their punch...
"Pre-emptive technique" as in you do it before your attacker has a chance to hit you. And if there's the case where they're not standing still, run at them. Attack your attacker :P
This is an exercise. Then we test the technique against a non standing attacker studying the timing etc.... and however it depend on you. THIS pak sao is for someone with the guard that way. If someone try to hit you, you can use another technique or pak sao in similar way or you simply go forward and hit. However STOP to complain about everything, for god sake!!!! The boxing punchbag is too stand still, so???
Along with your teaching i also enjoy the way you explain and your English 🙏

It depends on what kind of Wing Chun Lineage you would like to learn.
