The metal fountain is better because of the fewer plastic parts. I recently bought one similar to yours except it looks like a tall spigot. I like yours with the flower.
Yeah, the fewer plastic parts, the better. It was a huge reason why I wanted to get these stainless steel variations. So worth it. Now I'm tempted to look up the model like yours. haha I'm going to have too many water fountains soon. haha
Wasn't on mine. In fact, those are the instructions given with the plastic version of this fountain. You could leave it in, I suppose and just scrub it the best you can.

Doesn't the instructions that come with the box say not to take the fan part apart? It's even on the outside of the box 🤔
