- Judge Aileen Cannon, whose increasingly peculiar management of Donald Trump's classified documents federal criminal case appears to confirm accusations of bias in support of Trump, wasted more time in the case with an extraneous hearing on the constitutionality of Jack Smith's special counsel role. Matthew Seligman, fellow at the Stanford Constitutional Law Center, who argued before Cannon today, talks with Alicia Menendez about the unusual features of the hearing.

Lots of people have gone to prison and are still serving time for mishandling classified and highly sensitive government information to a fraction of a degree of what Trump did. Trump's main issue and the primary one he is being prosecuted for is that he WILLINGLY and KNOWINGLY held on to classsified documents for well over a year after being given every chance to return those documents, and during that time he hid, moved, lied about returning them, and direcred staff to delete video of those documents being moved around in Mar a Lago.. If he had returned them when he was asked, he would never have been charged and we would never have heard about any of this.
Trump's access to classified material began on the day he was sworn in as president, and ended on the day Biden took over as president. Trump hasn't even had authority to view any of the classified documents he took to Mar a Lago since the day he lost access to classified material, which was the day Biden succeeded him as president.
Media company should get sued for spin, lies, misinformation, and misrepresentation.

maybe I'm misunderstanding the timeline here a bit. Most people are not calling into question why he had the documents, simply that his handling of them was subpar (which it was, this is a widespread issue with our government, Hillary had a similar issue and previous presidents also have had data leaks)
however, that isn't particularly relevant to this case, which is happening not due to the fact that Trump had documents that he shouldn't, but rather his handling of them after being asked to return said documents.

I think you're sort of missing the point with this whole lawsuit, I'd consider looking into what the actual charges are and the events that lead up to Trump getting indicted.

A Texas woman who allegedly left a series of threatening messages on the voicemail of a federal judge overseeing one of former President Donald Trump’s legal fights in Florida was arrested last week, according to court documents.
Tiffani Shea Gish, of Houston, left three voicemails for Aileen Cannon, a federal judge in the Southern District of Florida who was nominated by Trump in 2020, according to court documents. Cannon is handling the former President’s request for a special master to review documents and other items the FBI seized from Mar-a-Lago last month.
In the voicemails, Gish threatened to have Cannon assassinated in front of her family for “helping” the former president, court documents say. I really wish MSNBC would stop putting out this hateful rhetoric on judge cannon and let her do her job.

Everyone should purposely go out and see what the other side is thinking and saying in their own words. It is really easy to put yourself into a bubble even if you aren't trying to do so.
