- Hello! This new series is all about THRIVING after leaving the Jehovah's Witnesses religion. I myself came from 5 generations and 38 years "in," 20 of which I spent in full time service, so I know exactly how hard it is to leave and integrate on the outside world. I've created this series for all of you that have left, or are thinking about leaving. This series is about healing and how to succeed after leaving. Love you all - D

Hi. I think that including a separate chapter on financial education would be very benefitial. Average witness is usually so afraid of money(been there sadly) that we need to reprogram our minds completely to start managing and even earning our own money correctly. Hope it helps😊

Thanks so much for this content. I’m 5 years out from JWs. The straw that broke the camel’s back for me was that I was suffering from post partum depression and I could not continue. For me it was an existential crisis that drove me out. I’m hoping that you could do an episode on love, sex, women in JW… topics or ideas such as agency, consent, purity culture (although we didn’t really call it that), people pleasing behavior, serving men as our raison d’être. As a resident of a state where reproductive healthcare has been suppressed, I found this was a powerful trigger for me because I didn’t feel like I had bodily autonomy. This shook me to my core. I basically had a trauma response to this. I’m hoping to hack my brain to get past these deep seated beliefs that I was indoctrinated with so that I CAN THRIVE. Thanks!
❤i have seen an interview that you have done and now watched this video. I thoroughly agree with the comment that says your video is a godsend. I resigned 25 years ago then went through the nazi interrogation process to get reinstated and gained my daughter and grandchildren back but the trauma the elders put me through was just too much to bear. I no longer can stand to walk through the Watchtower's doors.

Thanks so much for posting your story. Amazing! I look forward to seeing the other episodes. I left JW's in 1961 but also found Christ as Saviour then. The woman who led me to Christ, Leo, is still living now and just turned 90. A wonderful book to help people to faith in Christ by Anne Graham Lotz is called, "Just Give Me Jesus"
I'm PIMO since an elder in a congregation I was in years ago hit the news, CSA of course. A friend of mine does NLP & helped me deal with what came next for me, especially when the charges were dropped against the pedophile.
My work is health care related, and when I saw "Fantastic Fungi", I set the goal of offering the type of clinical therapy that is featured in the documentary. AND YOU'RE DOING IT!!!

Deanna, I’m not sure that I believe in God anymore but I have to say you are a Godsend 😅 I saw your interview and can relate to so much of it. Cried when hearing you express my feelings exactly. I have been searching for a way to heal, move on, get busy living (especially with the realization that this is the only life we get) but I have no idea where to start. I listened to your interview, so heart breaking, it really resonated with me. My former elder told me that most women leave the organization after they get divorced. I get why now. I went through something similar. I am on the hunt for an ex-JW therapist. They’re not easy to find.

I also just finished watching your life story with Jack on the Fear to Freedom channel. So much of your story resonated with me. Served in the same foreign country as you, left at the same age. Always amazes me how the stories of growing up and leaving this organization have SO many similarities. Really looking forward to your videos. Thanks so much for doing this. You are helping so many people that need it.
One topic recommendation I thought of, which may already be included in one of your planned chapters, but if not, just providing any help or suggestions you know of to avoid or overcome pitfalls when leaving. Specifically, I'm thinking of overuse of or dependency on things like alcohol. This seems to be a common issue in our community, and is one I've certainly struggled with. Thank you again for everything you are doing.

@@DeannaEliseMoore 2013-2018. Bavaro/Punta Cana area for most of the time, then Barahona for a few months before returning to the states. In ASL most of the time, but knew a good amount of the English speaking folks in the country during that time. You?

@@DeannaEliseMoore Some overlap. If you did any English conventions/assemblies in '13 or '14 we were there too. Knew people from Jarabacoa and La Vega but they were in ASL. Studied with many Haitians in English. One got baptized. Beautiful people.

Those are real questions that are a result of leaving the religion because while we were IN....we thought we knew. Even though it wasn't true, it was still psychologically healthy KNOWING what we thought we knew (if that makes sense lol). It leaves us with a "hole" so to speak once we loose those beliefs. I'm going to go into that in more detail in one of the episodes ❤

Thank you for this, I feel I go back and forth I have deprogrammed from the religion, I don’t feel like most with family they actually are the biggest reason I left even though I still love them and we did have a lot of good times, they were the most judgmental of everybody and biggest users of talent I have

@@DeannaEliseMoore more like we're fading, but I'm much more ahead than she is. She has a younger sister IN that she doesn't want to disappoint. So she's IN mostly for her, but already knows my stance. Just last month she cried because she understood how far I've come to becoming a non-believer. My heart ached for her knowing what she was thinking, that I was “lost.” It's a hard subject to talk about with her. I wish I could just dump all the knowledge I have, but it would be too much.

She's been going through some depression and I know it's because shes missing her tribe. I've tried to get her out there to meet new people outside of JW, and she has tried, but finds a reason to not associate herself with them because they're “worldly.” Anyhow, I will keep you close and really appreciate your kind heart and spirit. You completely nutshelled my main voids after a lifetime as jw. 6 years since my last meeting. Left after unscripturally divorcing ex for DV against our adult daughter as it was all too toxic and didnt make sense. I think your NLP will help me as you also understand. How do we help ourselves spiritually when we still love God but not the witnesses
The Torah explains that everyone is a witness.
You are a witness of God or a witness of mankind or you have a foot in each world.
Knowledge of good or God and evil or selfishness.
This is why the fall created the body and God created the soul.
Two witnesses from opposing view points.
Hence the curse or struggle to understand and see God.
Egypt in the Torah represents mans imperical knowledge into which man became enslaved. Man thinks himself a god that controls everything.
God takes man out of slavery by introducing problems or plagues that man cannot solve. This way God proved that He was God and not Pharoah.
The journey into the desert is to rid the people of preconcieved ideas and replace them with truth.
40 years is needed to do this.
It is a battle within each mind that is within a collective thought or belief system.
God gets the people to think together in 12 groups surrounding a central awareness or Tabernacle.
This is like your mind where differing parts connect together to form a picture of what you see around you.
A communal discussion in your mind and your friends.
Your mind becomes part of a greater communal mind that seeks to understand itself within God.
When the people are attacked by the opposing kings, it represents those who like the world and what they get out of it. They do not want to change.
This battle of change is individual and collective.
When the battle is over, you reach the promised land.
This has to be a well maintained mind that trusts in higher open minded thought through God or good thought.
Slipping back into old habits results in attacks. This is represented by Babylon taking over Isreal.
God allows the mind to be enslaved again as a reminder that self was given to man so that he had awareness of God rather than total self awareness that is selfish.
Welcome the soul that talks to other souls.
The soul comes from God and not mankind.

You left the Watchtower Society religion, which is a system of worship. If you knew Jehovah, or accurately you were known by Jehovah you would know already that if anyone has faith there is a Creator God His name, self- assigned, is Jehovah. Therefore one could never be "X". Being an "X" would require one to be an atheist, how stupid is that? To be accurate say your an "x" Watchtower witness. then you would be literate in your labeling.

@FakefulandDisgracedSlaveClass I make my own oil, decarboxylate the herb, then add to coconut oil and simmer for 8 hours at about 95F, strain it out and it makes a wonderful oil. I sometimes add valerian root to the oil too. SO so therapeutic! And thank you for calling bullshit on the comment on the interview 😘
