So, 1100 for the XR Elite is better than 1500 lol sure but I'm still leaning it's overpriced and not worth it. That said, I also think the quest pro is SEVERELY overpriced and not worth 1500 so .... but the specs of it just don't wow me. Resolution 1920 x 1920? that's it??? and 90htz??? The FOV is interesting at 110 but then again, the Pico 4 has higher resolution at 2160 x 2160 and while the Pico 4's FOV is only 105 ish with the stock facecover, I think we can get that higher with some of these third party ones coming out (which I'm currently waiting on 2 to arrive) and the Pico 4 is SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper so I'm really struggling to see how the XR Elite is worth 1100. Maybe 800. I guess if your trying to claim to compete with one overpriced headset with mediocre specs than ..... LMAO :)

Apple's headset definitely will not have Micro OLED display. Samsung only makes that for their The Wall tv and they can't make it below 77 inch tv right now. Micro OLED is still years away from mass production. I could maybe see it having QD-OLED though. I wouldn't put much faith into this report on the Apple headset becuase of the obvious impossibility of it using Micro OLED, a tv tech that hasn't been mass produced yet.
Too much hardware with not enough good software. I feel that software needs to catch up. I hope beatsaber coming to psvr2 brings some good will with psvr2 games coming to PC via meta or hopefully the wider PC VR platform

If they want to make a more comfortable vr headset, why not just use a full helmet design? Also for driving and pilot sim players it will add to the realism because racing drivers and pilots wear helmets.

Game devs need more resources - there is just too many limitations with the current hardware from the GPU, RAM, and the CPU correctly in use. Increasing any of those numbers less battery life and thus more weight to improve that. People that want a cheap device are going to be limited to what cheap can afford them sadly.

As far as comfort goes, PSVR has my vote. And with PSVR 2 coming next month, I'll be back in virtual reality soaking in all that glory. Man, I love VR 😁
Where is the rgb?
I don't buy many Apple products either and my Oculus rift cable is damaged... It really bothers me that meta stop supporting their product. I need a new VR headset I don't know if I should wait for the quest 3 or what I should do. I don't mind being tethered to my PC.
6:28 ok now THAT might be what I got with over a quest pro or quest 3. I really generally dont want the quest pro, its expensive for what it is and seems uncomfortable for long play sessions. But that, well, its just glasses, cant get more comfortable than that. And a PC only headset with inside out tracking, just what ive been waiting for. I hope by the time it comes out they find a way to connect quest pro controllers directly to the PC so I dont have to worry about tracking issues.
im not gonna lie i was in google looking at vr news i saw razer head strap and like after 10 mins later a notification came from you about the razer headstrap right now...
Hey Mysticle, you say the XR Elite doesn't have eye tracking.
You mean by default then right? Because I'm 90% certain that it'll have its own eye-tracking module.
Oh yeah I meant by default 🙂
My guess is leg tracking will be done using an iPhone with LIDAR
a v49 leak has mentioned "laying down mode" something to note for the future.
The Vive XR Elite Controller are just Quest 1 controllers with a vive logo lol
Did anyone get the death message for the quest 1? No more joining parties, no more features, and bugfixes only until 2024... Still waiting for the quest 3 to upgrade so this is not good news
Need that Quest 3 to come out already!
That vive with the eye tracker module attached looks like steampunk squidward.
one the reasons i hate the quest pro is that it is extremely difficult to use on a couch or laying down because the back of it is just too bulky.
For 3k they’re probably gonna have leg trackers I doubt their gonna have it done with cameras
I have no interest in the apple headset, but I'm excited for the attention it will bring to VR. Really hope they find some success in it
so razar decided to make a quest 1 strap for the quest 2.
Is the vive xr elite meant for gaming or business? I've been watching videos on it and none of them say. Either that or i'm stupid. I don't wanna spend the money on a VR that isn't meant for gaming, because I know that's the only reason I get these headsets. I have enough for the vive xr so does anyone know?
LMAO :)
Pico 4's tethered performance is meh though and it also doesn't work with many modded VR games like Resident Evil Village.
Have not watched yet. Asking a pre question. Razer, as in the one with the snakes for the logo or no?
IT IS THE RAZER IM THINKING OF. I have two different versions of the kraken headphones, one wired, one wireless :)
Well I’m an Apple user but 3000$ is just too much in any circumstance, I guess its meant for companies rather than consumers but still…
As an apple consumer you should already know to wait till the second generation of apple technology
@@nouns7504 yeah I usually just buy used, last year was the first time in a decade that I bought a new iPhone… but still you can get a MacBook pro and a quest pro / vive XR for 3000€. Just seems like a crazy price to me…
Honestly, I used to be excited for Apple's headset, but after learning more about it, it really doesn't seem interesting at all, and I feel like when it releases, nothing will change.
Razer should bring this year ago but now its almost time for Quest 3 so im skiping it. Hopefully theu bring it for Quest 3 version
WHY DON'T THEY ACHIEVE LEG TRACKING BY USING MIRRORS?
I just want more $100 headsets like the lenovo explorer. they've stopped being sold and i dont trust ebay
I remember the explorer. It was super cool
@@DiamondDepthYT lucky
Too much hardware with not enough good software. I feel that software needs to catch up. I hope beatsaber coming to psvr2 brings some good will with psvr2 games coming to PC via meta or hopefully the wider PC VR platform
Not true at all. There are many amazing VR games now (both VR mods and native.)
1. Resident Evil Franchise (2, 3, 7 and Village.) Outstanding, must play VR experiences all around. Just make sure to use the "smooth locomotion" mods for 2 and 3.
2. Half Life 2 VR mod.
3. Half Life: Alyx
4. Mother VR (Alien Isolation)
5. Subnautica. (The new 2.0 update that just released made the VR mode much better.)
6. Contractors
7. Every racing sim with VR support.
@@Skrenja most you named are community mods. I am aware of all on flat 2 VR modding discord and Luke Ross but official actual VR games is still light . Alyx is amazing yes but there are more new headsets than actual good official VR games you named.
i started with the hp windows mixed reality vr headset. the one looked like robo cop. lol. it was great. then i got rift s then one week later i got quest 2. had that ever sence
But what about battery?
Nvm 😅

If they want to make a more comfortable vr headset, why not just use a full helmet design? Not only will this produce much better weight distribution, it will also mean the display doesn't have to touch any part of the face. Also for driving and pilot sim players it will add to the realism because racing drivers and pilots wear helmets.
WE NEED DISHONORED VR
Yes
I had a lenovo explorer for about a year before it died. best $250 i ever spent
Dont have and don't want Facebook, so cant have quest. Why don't you ever advertise this needed link?
The Razer headstrap looks bad for people with long hair imo. I tie my hair back when in VR; but it looks like that might not work with such a low ring pad thingy at the back
Yeah yeah laying down and watching some movies right. Lol 😏
2.5h charging, isn't that the same as using a cable? xD
it looks SOOO comfy
I wont spent anymore money on things for vr until they give us more games and games that are well optimised
Game devs need more resources - there is just too many limitations with the current hardware from the GPU, RAM, and the CPU correctly in use. Increasing any of those numbers less battery life and thus more weight to improve that. People that want a cheap device are going to be limited to what cheap can afford them sadly.
@@adr2t I know all of this. I'm talking more about the pc vr
There's tons of many amazing VR games now (both VR mods and native.)
1. "Praydog's" VR mods for the Resident Evil Franchise (2, 3, 7 and Village.) Outstanding, must play VR experiences all around. Just make sure to use the "smooth locomotion" mods for 2 and 3. RE 7 ON IT'S OWN makes VR worth it.
2. Half Life 2 VR mod.
3. Half Life: Alyx
4. Mother VR (Alien Isolation)
5. Subnautica. (The new 2.0 update that just released made the VR mode much better.) Probably the scariest game I've ever played and it's not even a "horror" game.
6. Contractors. Best VR multiplayer, for sure.
7. Every racing sim with VR support. (Assetto Corsa, Project Cars 2, Automobilista 2, .etc) Seriously, sim racing is mind blowing in VR.
Not to mention it was just announced pretty much EVERY game on the Unreal 4 engine will soon automatically work in VR.
