Yeaaa no. VA panels are great for creation too. Those blacks on IPS look bad when compared to VA. Colors on VA is not for off from IPS but the contrast difference is night and day
It’s still good for gaming just not PC gaming, should more than be enough for consoles and for people going on about ps5 and the series x with the 120hz. @@Beyonder1987 why in your opinion? From what read IPS better for content creators, but VS better fir general entertainment : e.g., web surfing; streaming.
Dont listen to this hipster seller ... Its a fake hdr , if you want an affordable hdr right now then go tv , standards need to be meet to have a hdr monitor , like 1000 nits , local dimming , the only thing that it will do is change brightness and colors to emulate hdr and it will look like shit , its the same companies that sell you TN panels and 1440p at a premium price in 2018-19 , what did you expect ... Just get a tv or wait.
You are wrong by saying that this is nt a 10 bit panel..It actually is,google it, I double dare you!But you are at least right about the kind of emulated hdr, although it does nt look shit, its just not as accurate at the peak brightness
Cx Lightning Ok, this is a bit of a misconception. 1000 nits is only used for absolute highlights in the image produced by the monitor. If the highlights are lets say around 300nits, it wont look realistic with the HDR1000 dynamic range requirements (the highlights wont stand out from other less bright parts of the image) Of course 300nits is plenty for good looking highlights but HDR1000 is really some high end level stuff which requires some ridiculous requirements.
300 nits of brightness isn't true hdr.... High dynamic range typically requires 400 700 or 1000 nits. Called hdr4 hdr7 and hdr10 respectively. If it just says "hdr" and doesn't say 4 7 or 10, it's fake hdr and it's marketing nonsense.
You're right about everything besides hdr4, hdr7, hdr10. HDR10 just means the display has 10bit color. Most fake HDR monitors that currently exist are branded as supporting HDR10. The new HDR standard is HDR400, HDR600, and HDR1000. The first two require 400 and 600 nits peak brightness without local dimming, so it's still fake HDR. HDR1000 requires 1000 nits and local dimming, so if you're looking for a monitor today that's what you're looking for.
If you are using that much brightness nits near your face ,then your eyes gonna burst for sure, Only TV's can have such amount of brightness nits, Monitors are not meant to be watched in long distance , and so it is gamer's focused ,whereas in TV thats not the case , TV'S are not for gamers , that's y it has horrible response time even if u go premium. In single word, Monitors for content creaters and TV for content consumers.
Just bought this monitor and it's trash. Awesome colour accuracy? Only if you strap a colorimeter to individuals spots right up against the panel, not if you, say, actually want to look at it with your eyeballs. Why? Because of off-axis contrast shift. It's really, REALLY bad. It's as bad as the old TN films were for changing colours based on even small head movements (largely because the effect is amplified by the high resolution). You can't find a spot where you can be sure the colours look right, and even then they change as they head out away from that central spot you're looking at. Pull up a full-screen image of just one colour, and throughout the colours you will notice a serious gradient out to the edges, especially with reds and with greys. It's useless for editing photos, and I can't imagine it'd be much better for video, so what "creators" are going to be using this? It's a decent gaming and movie monitor, but it' snot even as nice as my very old Dell 24" PVA panel which you had to really move your head all the way to the side with to get contrast shift. With this, you can start to see the shift right in from of you, moving out from that central point where you're looking, you don't even have to move your head (but it gets worse when you do). I wish I was fooled by these idiots who quote the sRGB number and think that's all that matters. Oh, and it also looks like it has back-light bleed in the bottom left corner, but I can't tell if that's just more contrast shift and now I'm hearing the term "VA glow" which I previously didn't think was a thing and I thought was avoiding IPS glow by going VA again.
@@romannoven I haven't changed it yet, just been putting up with it until I can really be bothered going through the whole shopping process again. I'll have to sell this one second hand now, which will just add to the headache. I should've returned it when I bought it, but I was moving house and just needed something that worked at the time, so I didn't end up doing that. I still don't know if IPS would be any better or just annoy me with IPS glow. Maybe qled/oled is the ticket or some new tech around the corner.
