Hi! I feel like this wasn't communicated strongly enough but this video is NOT my content. Please please DO NOT interact with my channel after watching this, this is just a PSA from the mod team. As mentioned in my comment, before releasing this I disabled monetization (EDIT: as of Dec 28 I re-enabled monetization on videos other than this one (EDIT 2: a lot of people are telling me to turn all monetization on and considering all drama is basically dead I don't see much of an issue with it, yell at me in the comments if you disagree)) on my videos because I didn't want to gain anything, because principally I find that abhorrent. In retrospect I should have made a burner account solely to release this video but unfortunately did not have that foresight, so here we are. My deepest apologies.
*3:20 Binomial distributions can't be applied to any scenario without the possible need for corrections. In our case it is a really good estimate that we can improve by examining biases in the data; nonetheless the intuition of a binomial distribution still holds.
UPDATE 1: Illumina is actually in the 82.5 percentile (not 91st) as pointed out by Do_The_Upgrade on reddit. This does not change the ultimate conclusions, although the error should have been caught. Unfortunately we didn't place as much time on the "meaningless" example verification as we should have.

UPDATE 2: 10:40 I misinterpreted what Dream said while writing the script. Apparently he does not delete mod folders regularly. What he had were multiple mod profiles, and during the investigation he ended up deleting his specific 1.16 speedrun profile because he was frustrated with the investigation. (source: Dream)

it's not corelated math though it's just statistical math, he calculated the combination of the loot he got, not the rarity of the individual objects.
@@kasperbennetsen6302 I'm fairly certain that the rarity of the individual objects was used in the calculations for the probability, as in order to calculate the probability of the combination of the loot that he got, they would have to use the drop/barter chances... Could you explain further?

1. Dream cheated in a speedrun.
2. He called the professionals who called him out haters. While aware of his cheating.
3. He proposed false evidence to these professionals. Again, while aware of his cheating.
4. He let his fans harass these professionals for months on end. Again, while aware of his cheating.
5. He admitted that he cheated after the noise died down. And he got away with it.
Yeah, I sure do wonder why people don't like him.

Never forget one of the biggest cheating scandal in speedrunning ever. Rewatched this just cause and I miss when this all went down. You can also use some math to disprove Dream's statement "This File has been uploaded 10 minutes after the stream" in one of his twitter post. By using the in-game time, His seed and the Stream length to determine his exact IRL time. this you can use this to see how long he has been on the files and if it is over 10 minutes. Then he is likely cheating.

Well its easier said than done. Considering he had over 14 mil subs and lots of small streamers and youtubers using him for the hatred content to get the clout. They see this an opportunity to grow for their channel.
Not just that, i can also see why he felt that the investigation was biased. He was the biggest guy here in the server. And thats why he become the first attention on everything that he did. People will try to dig up even more to prove that he was wrong or cheated on every single video that he made.
But no one cares if other speedrunners are cheating or so. That was simply cuz they are just a basic minecraft player. They arent as big as Dream. And that makes Dream as an easier target to be criticized

@Bub Gunther Robertson that is not true, the maths for it dont work like that. what you did was you divided 7.5 trillion by 2, got 3.75 trillion, and assumed that would be the answer. to calculate it, we would do something like this:
1/2 x 1/2 is 1/4, then we would multiply it again by 1/2 and get 1/8, again 1/16, again 1/32 , 1/64 and so on, after just 6 coin flips it would be a 1.56% chance of 6 heads. To get the same result 100 times in a row, for 20, we get 2million and so on . I think its about 43 heads in a row to get dreams luck, but not entirely sure
