I'm still using office 97, with Clippy!
It took me 21 years to realize that the “X” in Excel actually had an “L” in the icon.
2019 office icons have that fluent material design, like it.
The icons of 2000 were ahead of their time

I like the Office 2010 and 2019 icons!
Why did Outlook change its color from yellow to blue in Office 2013 and later? Its color is quite similar to Word.
I think that 2010 icons are the best, because they show what the program is used for, they have identical shapes and are easily distinguishable
The Microsoft Office icons from 2007 are the best, don't really like the new ones from 2019 there flat and dull 😒
For me the icons set of Office 2007 looks a bit better than the later Office 2010, the icons of PowerPoint and Outlook in Office 2000 looks like it will fit in Windows 8 Metro design with some minor adjustments, the icons of Office 2013 is a bit of a downgrade and the current icons from Office 2019 looks good and vibrant

My personal preference is 2010 and 2013. All the icons are thematically consistent, and make sense for the icon.

For me I think Office 2010 has the most beautiful icons
