      I really don’t see a market fit for the grand highlander. They have a highlander model, sequoia, 4Runner (3rd row option) and Tundra. Where does this slide in? It likely won’t justify the price upgrade from the current highlander. Otherwise, wouldn’t a family get a sequoia if they needed a lot of extra space or a 4Runner w/ 3rd row? I do think Toyota is making a mistake adding these newer turbos. Hope I’m wrong. Fuel mpg is far less in a naturally aspirated engine but, the reliability is forever.

    I can't handle Toyota dumbing down the combustion engine option to a 4-cylinder. Glad I have the last V-6 Highlander from 2022. Toyota hybrids do not work for more than 6-7 years parked outside in below freezing temperatures all winter before they won't hold a full charge anymore. Hybrids also switch to full-time gas in super cold temps. You have 2 engines in hybrids, so both are smaller. The hybrid gas tank is smaller than a regular ICE gas engine. The battery is smaller too. Keep in mind that hybrids are made for city driving, not freeway. Hybrid batteries cost thousands of dollars to replace. What's the point of a hybrid unless you live in CA or AZ? Even then, getting power for batteries and electricity for plug-ins is uncertain.

    • @1993rufus
      @1993rufus 5 месяцев назад

      That's not Toyotas choice, because all you dummies supporting people like greta thumbnail or whatever her name is, many states and the US in general has changed things for imports on "environmental damage!" They would have to pay fines for making the old school engines because they are "ruining" the environment. Plus, most liberals only want electric or hybrids because they are "better for the environment!" 🙄🙄

    That Grand Highlander looks better than the regular Highlander. So glad they didn't incorporate that bulbous rear fender in this rendition of the Highlander. Nice color on that one too. No amount of horsepower from a overworked 4 cylinder in a heavier vehicle could pass the zonk inspection for me. Just my opinion you would be better off with a naturally aspirated V6 for longevity and no electrical junk tied to it. This movement to electric and 4 cylinders is not the move. Especially all electric vehicles the range on most less than a combustion engine. At least when you are low on fuel you can stop at gas station not set at a charge station like a rolling cell phone.

      All cars are usually released 3 months before the year they are. My current highlander is a 2020 but I purchased it in October 2019. That's just how car dealers work. If kind of a perk to the early buyer, you get the model earlier.

    I really want a two-row version of this vehicle. Toyota currently lacks a midsize two-row car-based SUV. You’d need to go for the Lexus RX to find a vehicle in their line up to compete with the Santa Fe, Passport, or Edge. The Venza is close but still seems smaller.
