Ryan Vs Nate didn't happen because Ryan was working on the SFX for a film called, I don't know... STAR WARS: FORCE AWAKENS!!!

He must not have gotten to work on the fight between Kylo and Rey though, since it sucked.
Alex's saber is the only functioning one by the end of their fight, which is a red Novus. That's what Nate can pick up. And Ryan will have whatever he walked in with, which is probably also a Novus (blue). So, logically it looks like it's going to be Novus on Novus.
I know this was done a while ago, but I just wanted to congrat you on a VERY well done green screen composite. Without seeing this "making of a digital cameo", I would have never guessed that it was a composited shot.
Panic Station instrumental! Pardon my excitement, that was excellent! I never thought it was possible to composite shots like that so seamlessly. Especially when you have to recreate the lighting they had!
You should do Ryan v.s. Brandon v.s. Dork man v.s. Nate

Potential plot-line: Every duel that has happened in a Vs. Video (Ryan vs. Dorkman, Alex vs. Nate, etc) is a long battle to unlock a dark secret, one that Ryan will go to any means to collect.

LEDs may be the way Hollywood goes in terms of lighting in future movies, if they haven't already, and I always thought your cameo in AvN2 was super cool. but Ryan vs Brandon 2 is my favorite duel of all the RUclips videos I've seen. have you done any more since then??? Hey Ryan, I bought one of your sabers from saber shop about a year or two ago. You actually personally dropped it off at my apartment. It was funny because about the time I bought the saber, "dorkman" started working at the same studio as me, Stereo D. Anyways, still have the saber of course, hope my saber purchased contributed to that very pro camera.

It's a compact fluorescent party bulb. They are available all over, in many different colors.

Are you and Dorkman still in touch? I ask because I'd really like to see RvD3. I know you guys have said no RvD3 until you can make a huge leap in visual effects but now it's been what, six years? I figured enough time has passed, both of you guys have learned a lot since then, and you can really make something that isn't just another lightsaber duel.

So like, when you guys start doing Ryan vs Nate are you going to be using your own sabers (that you've made) or will you be using Nates, I ask because while yours do look cool, I think the ones Nate use look alot cooler.
Is that literally a Blue energy saver bulb that you use to cast the saber glow onto yourself, or is a normal energy saver bulb that has a cool tone to it? Either way, it's brilliant! I had a few video ideas of my own where I wanted to cast a saber glow onto myself, but I couldn't figure out how to set up the lighting for the shot... now I do! So thank you for that. :)

Check out the LLC (Lightsaber Choreography Competition) judging videos here on RUclips. Absolutely tremendous amounts of advice dispensed there.

I mean it kinda happened. They filmed some of it, just never finished. Ryan even make a trailer for it.
@@KoolKeithProductions I mean from what I've read Ryan broke his finger filming it and they just never came back to finish it... it's a shame. When Ryan was judging the choreography competition he jokingly said "Ryan vs Nate coming 2036" or something like that, but then again there's the April Fools video where he wrote "Coming Never" so I don't even know what to believe. I hope they go back one day and finish though.
@@The_D0C70R Yea but l just wish Ryan would upload the footage they did film, even if it's unfinished. It wouldn't even be the first time. I remember when he said that Ryan vs Brandon 2 was originally shown without an ending, because they didn't like how some of the effects looked, so they shot a new ending at a later date.
@@KoolKeithProductions I wish he would too, but RvB2 was for a choreography competition, that's the only reason he released an unfinished video (they didn't have time to complete the VFX before the deadline). They didn't intend to reshoot the ending, but since they didn't like the original ending, which was left out of the unfinished video, they took the opportunity to shoot a new one for the final release.
I'm hoping the reason he hasn't released the footage from Ryan vs Nate is because they might return to the project and don't want to give away the choreography. Nate did say something about hoping to finish it in the comments section of his channel sometime last year.
I can't help but feel there is a big "Highlander" style fight taking place amoug around 20 duelists...
I can't help but feel there is a huge story to tell.

Probably never... at least not from me. ;) Unless you mean non-lightsaber related.
Ah... A Terrible shame. I would love to see a huge collaborative work - it looks awesome, and is in all honesty, better than the source material in scale, ferocity, and viewing enjoyment.

I have been interested in buying a nice camera. Is the Red Scarlet what you would suggest? Or are their other better... preferably cheaper, camera's to go for?
ArodWingfoot Certainly cheaper. Sort of depends on your needs. For most folks, a Canon 5D or 7D shooting HD video would do just fine. BlackMagic has some inexpensive options as well, and certainly there are more. The Panasonic HVX200 which we shot RvD2 and RvB2 on, probably goes for fairly cheap now.
+ArodWingfoot You should take a look at the blackmagic cameras I wasn't really interested until I found out about the speedbooster. Basically the cinema camera and pocket camera have smaller sensor sizes and the speedbooster makes it look like it's a super35mm sensor. I have the pocket camera + speedbooster combo and it's amazing. In total that was like 1500$.
Many people repost my videos and are usually unclear on credit. We did have a number of people help out with rotoscoping and visual effects on RvB2 so maybe that's what he was talking about.

Plans, yes. But constantly in flux. What I really want to do is ambitious, requires a lot of research, testing, prototyping, etc. Takes time, and it all has to yield to the day job. But I am working toward it.
