  • Hey Everyone! I have a fun and new (to me at least, it has been done for decades in europe) technique to share! this is great for a thicker hair texture with lots of grey. many women (and men) struggle with what to do when they go grey and want to maintain some sort of bright, soft tones to their hair rather than a dull look. so this is a neat compromise as well as a faster technique than traditional foiling.

Thank you for sharing this, i perform these on myself!
When a client has adhd the worst thing ever is sitting in a salon for hours to achieve this look. Most women enjoy salon time, getting pedicures & manicures. Being a hair stylist for 28 years I can promise you that I am not one of the clients that enjoy sitting for periods of time.

I love doing this! I love to use it for a traditional highlight pattern as well for someone with a lighter natural color

I love this technique, I do this for curly hair highlighting touch ups. Could you also show doing her lowlights? It is such a great way to soften greying hair :)

During COVID I watched many many video tutorials and I prefer to do my own hair color.
I usually set up 2 bowels of complimentary highlight mixture and starting from my neck I pull a few strands and coat them with one highlight mix then wipe my gloves and use the other highlight mixture.
I have been happy with my results and my hair is pretty long.
This video convince me to try the clay product as I do my entire head and I think that would make each small highlight stay away from getting on the other highlighted strands.
I do add some hair color in a light shade because I have trouble picking toners.
FYI - I did a strand test of Shwartjopf 10-1 along with their $30 (20v) Royal developer and also a separate strand test using Revlon Color 81 light blonde in a box that cost $5.99.
Both strands were absolutely the same color and I used the Schwarzkopf on the top half of my head and the Revlon colorsilk on the bottom half.
No one including me can see any difference in the color or hair condition between the two and Schwarzkopf's insert said I needed to buy another two of their products to set the hair color and of course their shampoo, conditioner and yes their complete line of products
Sadly I am not a licensed hair professional but I would be very interested hearing from licensed hairdressers how they feel about needing all these expensive products from Schwarzkopf!

Fabulous. I have done this with a cream bleach (wella soft blondor ) which gives a similar result and is easy to work with .

Wonderful technique I have very dark hair but natural level 6 straight hair I don't do anything with it I just leave it straight maybe blow dry it I want to keep my hair brown but maybe some type of highlights any recommendations? This technique surely will not work I know but just wondering if you could please advise what you would do with a client that still wants to be brown but some blonde pieces here and there Thank you You're a wonderful stylist your friend always Wendy 🙏💜

Starting with a level 5 , I find it dries too fast even with a bag cap over it. It doesn’t process to a high enough 10 lift ? What can I do about this thank you:)

Can you paint entire head if two boxes of highlights are used?

I do it now and I think the clay product recommended here would make it easier to do.
For me it's kind of time consuming but I am not a professional.
The time it takes me to drive to my salon have these things done to my hair and get home as much less time than it takes to do it myself
