Just looking at that exhaust, I think if you keep the cat ,,you could cut off the peashooter end pipe at that weld (you pointed out ) then drill your holes, then weld an end cap (plus hole ) you would end up with a exhaust that looks mega phone style,,quite short and I doubt too load......just an idea
If it was only a plate in the exhaust, I would get me a cup drill in a suitable size, in other words as big as possible, and remove the plate completely.
Yes, I might make the hole bigger one day, but at the moment in real life, it's quite loud already.. Someone said they just used a broom handle and slid the silencer over it quite hard and it just popped out 😄👍
To be honest, it's not that loud, think the camera makes it sound loud. Just a deeper mellow sound. I have thought of getting the de cat pipe, but , I think that would definitely be too loud even for me 👍
Yes, I've been thinking of making a de cat elbow, to bypass it. because a proper de cat exhaust is about £300 or more and I don't want to spend that amount.👍
Hi, I don't know about the warranty, but it's been into the dealer several times for other problems and nothing has been said. It's not like you are doing anything mechanical to the engine. They accept full de-cat exhaust systems with no warranty problems anyway 👍
Does sound a lot better but does removing the baffle alter the mapping. I have heard of someone who removed the baffle and apparently caused the engine to run badly. Took it to the dealer and was told removing the baffle will make the warranty void. Dealer would not repair. Have you heard anything about this.
Removal of the baffle does not affect the warranty or the running. Whoever said different has no clue. the 2 Indian owners of bsa , said in their you tube video to promote the bike, said you can remove baffle in seconds... The mapping will adjust itself when you use it. I took my baffle out in march, 7 months ago with no problems. I've also, as shown in my video, drilled large holes in middle baffle plate, 200 miles ago, with no mapping problems or running problems. This bike in general has tickover/ stalling problems anyway, bsa made a new map for it to try to help the problem., but the few people that tried it said it was worse, so had to put the old mapping again. Bsa has still got to work a better mapping out for the future. Baffle in or baffle out, it can still run rough. Does sound awesome now in real life.
Many thanks for the info. I've just stripped and polished the engine case and it looks really good. Looking more like the original.@@awesomeappleby5923
There's only one company making a decat exhaust for this bike at the moment, and it's quite expensive, so got to wait for others to make some other style pipes, then maybe the prices will come down 🤞👍
sounds nothing like the dbd as long as you have a hole in your backside you wont make these Mahindra hybrids sound any like the original for simple reason that a high reving short stroke will never sound like the old long stroke low reving engines. No modern bike will recreate the sound of the old british bikes engines are totaslly different
@awesomeappleby5923 I think your the same person I'm taking on Facebook lol. Yea I know what you mean. At least your making it sound better than standard
Triumph wanted £300 to decat my speed master .so i bought a paddock stand and did it myself...bit of a faff but there are lots of videos on youtube to show you how its done.
I replaced my cat on my 1200 speedmaster with a tec pipe ..makes a world of difference to the sound and i run standard silencers.
Bet that's sounds awesome.
I'am tempted to do that, but need to save up first I think 👍
@@awesomeappleby5923 look on youtube removingt the cat on a bsa goldstar ..
STUNNING JOB 👏🏻❤️
Thanks
heath robinson would be proud .😊
Thats my middle name 😂👍

That sounds a cool idea, but a bit beyond my capabilities I think.
Will have to wait until aftermarket parts are out 👍
yeah its outside mine too,but I know a man who can!!!
Wow! I thought the collector box under the stand on the meteor 350 was big 😮
I know, the cat on these are massive 🫣👍
@@awesomeappleby5923 bet you there is some weight in that thing, the one on the meteor 350 is 11lb, so added bonus to getting rid of it 😂
Much better. It sounds British now. Well done.
Thanks, those holes I drilled have now all joined up to make one big hole, think it was the heat 😯, sounds even better though 👍
Probably has more of an open Megaphone sound now.
nice work
Cheers 👍

At 67 years old i prefer a quieter exhaust.

The FRONT PIPE on these are what really restricts them.

@@awesomeappleby5923 There's a guy in the UK, who will make you one, that's his speciality.
He's on youtube!
Will it void the warrant?
By the way beautiful sound i will also do the same and thank you for the trick

Well maybe BSA will do a sports exhaust 😅

I'm certain delkevic will make one soon
Still no sign of when they're going to be available in New Zealand 😐
Sounds great tho.
Thanks, they have only just got to France, so it might be a while yet to reach you ☹️👍
Are they definitely coming to NZ ?
In NZ now in the North Island at Cyclespot Akl and Wgtn
@@BSAroadrocket I made the full payment half a month ago, but still no bike. Registration issues they tell me.
There's your warranty gone.
So if you fit an aftermarket exhaust, your warranties gone, don't think so
@@awesomeappleby5923 after market is one thing but I don't think drilling holes in it is the same.
Junk the chatty asian silencer and fit an Anglo Mega....Your neighbors will hate you. Thank me later.
Might just do that this year 👍
It will never sound like a real Gold Star.
Your right, but I wish it did 😁👍
Nice bodge job mate. If you wanted a nice sounding bike, you should have bought a Royal Enfield Interceptor! Nice looking Mahindra though! 🤔
I love bodging 🫣😂👍
@@awesomeappleby5923 🤣🤣🤣👍🏻
Get rid of the cat already no use doing these walkarounds
De cat exhausts are too expensive, around £300 , so my quick bodge cost nothing.
Might do it in the future though 👍

Yes, I suppose with all the new Euro rules, it's slowly killing off what a real bike should sound like 👍
Get rid of the cat .
I'd love to, but it's around £300 , so will have to save up 😀
