"baking powder, please make sure the one you"re using is from this decade" 😂😂 i just lost it there...
Kinito Wotsa laughed so hard. It's so true.
I'm good just checked mine ... it's only 4 years past the best by date.
i know right! so true! It's probably the oldest ingredient in my pantry
😂 I laughed, paused the video, checked the date (2001 😂😂😂😂), threw it away, and added baking powder to my list! I'm so glad I'm not alone!
"You can watch one more, but then it's time for bed. Okay?"
But chef joooooooooooooohnnnnnnnnn :(
If I just gratuitously added cayenne to every recipe, you'd lose respect for me. ;)
Be honest, did you spell "gratuitously" correctly on the first pass?
Yeah, but who's to say you didn't sneak any mixed in to your cinnamon, hmmm? ;)
I will try this next week,
I like all ur recipe, and u know, that first time I made ur chicken keiv is almost perfect,
thanks for the coz my employer love it,
I am DH here in Hongkong :-)
You know, if you used a more . . . generic apple, a little bit of cayenne would probably be pretty tasty.
I _knew_ something was missing from this video, but I couldn't put my finger on it!
Thanks for the recipe, Chef John.
I worked in a doughnut shop, briefly and a long time ago. The way we made apple fritters was to take all the scraps from making cinnamon rolls and glue them together with apple jam. Fry and glaze. I always liked the doughnut shop apple fritters, before and after I knew how they were made. So I'm going to have to try this just to compare.
I'm watching this after midnight knowing I have to be up at 7, so when you say "One more video and then bed", I'm like okay dad. Sounds good.
You are a savage chef John; a true warrior within the culinary fields. I have seen you countless times diss and destroy all who have opposed you, serving brutal savagery with each remark.
A cooking warlord of immense power. Lead your followers onto glory, and we will annihilate all other cooking RUclips channels.
The fields of battle will run red with red wine; all will fear the banner of chef John
I think we found our Brigadier General. :D
This is, without a doubt, the best YT comment I've ever read.
Fangs4DaMemories I am not worthy of such a honor; my blood is only 98% cayenne pepper. It must reach 999% for me to be deemed worthy of such a place next to Chef John's sweet hotness.
long live chef John
ermonski
His tonality is crazy
I'm sitting here with all the ingredients for this in my house never realizing how easy these were to make.
Chef John, How did you know I watch these in bed?! 😄 I'm a rebel and going to watch 2 more... just because!
I know! I was like, how does he know I'm watching this right before bed. Is he watching me or something?! Haha
yep. it's 11.47 in Texas and when he said that,I smiled. maybe 1 ....or 2 more. but then that's it!
That baking powder jab hit me square in the giggle box. I'm pretty sure the baking powder I have was bought when I was born.
"lack of hole" I almost choked on my coffee when I heard that! LOL
'lack of hole' - where where? dammit i missed that one
at the very beginning :17 seconds in
Janina S. thanks!
t42 Press you're welcome!
This is 100% my favorite cooking show
I've never tried an apple fritter but I started drooling just watching this
OMG... I almost lost it when I saw 🍎 fritters on my 📱 notification. I don't know if I should watch. Salivations!!! Sir! Do you realize you're the Bob Ross of RUclips!! We Love You, Man!!!
"After all, you are the babysitter of your apple fritter!" I just needed to get that out :)
"Always Try To Remember What You Forgot." -Chef John lol Great Vid for The Fall Kickoff!
I love you Chef! Apple Fritters are my favorite. I will definitely make them. Many thanks.
this is one of my childhood favorites! thank you chej john! been learning from you since 2014!
I am home alone for the week and now I'm seriously considering making these just for myself Q_Q
Yum! My favorite!
I will definitely make these. They look delicious and I love the use of cider! I totally agree about the undercooked apples.
Yep. gotta make these. Thanks for the wonderfully simple recipe Chef John. Your riposte ain't bad either. Likes me some good smackdown! Keep doing what you're doing. Your humor is priceless. We love you!
This looks so much easier than I imagined. Love the idea of the Marinellis. Definitely trying this!
Don't tell me what to do Chef John D:< ! I will watch exactly TWO more of your videos before I go to bed!
Those look very nice. I make "apple fritters" by partially cooking my apples in butter with the spices then mixing them with pancake batter and cooking them the same as you would cook pancakes. Probably not as good as these, but for people who are calorie phobic, they are probably slightly lower cal.
that's a really good idea, thanks!
Nice idea man. I'm not too keen on deep frying stuff.
Chef John!!! I just made these today and they were Amazing! Thank you for the recipe. 🍎🍏🍎🍏
Oh my goodness thank you! I love apple fritters!!!
You have made my evening. I can't wait to try these
Actually is time for mid night snacks after watching Chef John videos.
I love apple fritters. I'm in the apple fritter gang.
John, I was just thinking about making apple fritters and looked at RUclips there you are making them perfect!
Great video John. You're one of the few channels my wife will happily watch with me.
For very light and airy apple fritters , try mixing in some diced apples and some raisins into Pâte à Choux . That's how I make New Year's Eve Dutch Oliebollen for my family .
I live for Chef John! Binge watch as many videos as I can before bed!
I have a test tomorrow at 8, but saw this new upload and had to watch it to relax thanks to his soothing voice lol, now I'm hungry.
I accidentally overcooked the apples and I still thought they were tasty haha. Thank you!!
guess what!?! I love your recipes so much that I'm no longer bothered by your high pitch emphasis on every 3rd or 4th word. awkward cadence is a small price for yummy treats! I tell everybody about these videos. you're my hero.
Chef John, on the dip vs drizzle glaze issue I know that I can drizzle, but if I dip you dip we dip.
Marc Neilson I've got that song stuck in my head now. 😊
You're batting 1000 and picking all my favorites Chef John! It's like you're reading my tummy like a tele-tubby.......oh, TMI. LOL!! :^) The way you present your channel is so perfect! Don't change a thing.......unless you feel the need that is.......you ROCK sir!
Just made these this afternoon and they we're perfect!
Thanks!
Bless your heart forever. These are just what I was craving.. wonderful recipe and great vid.
Thank you John. I'm going to surprise my wife and make these for her tomorrow.
yum
"you can watch one more, but then its time for bed" lol its like 2 pm here
I'm the exact opposite. My thought process is why have a donut when you can have a fritter.
I have not learned my lesson. I keep watching your videos late at night and dreaming of food as a result. Maybe that's not a problem, but if I can't fit through my front door, I blame you, Chef John. Thanks for the great content :)
Anybody else notice how carefully chef john cleaned off that spoon, and then just stuck it back into the dough and kept mixing?!
Exactly what I do. All. The. Time!
(had the volume on mute so maybe you commented in the voice over) but I found it charming.
Gonna try these after I'm back from retreat. They look fabulous!
Perfect!! I can hardly wait to try them.
Apple fritters? Holy Moly I LOVE apple fritters!!! How did you know? Apple fritters!!!!
I gotta make these. I love the apple pockets u made last time. Came out perfect
Martinelli's cider is ridiculously good.
Chef John is some sort of culinary mind tricker. Easily made me crave both fried apples and fried potatoes at 3:10. I'm on to you chef.😨
Made these today and they came out excellent. I did make a bit of a mistake I wasn't paying attention and added 1 table spoon and a half of baking powder instead of 1 teaspoon and a half. This made the batter almost double in size. it became really frothy and airy. That being said they still came out extremely good and everybody inhaled them down.
Thanks Chef John, i have just spent the last 2 hours trying to remember what i forgot.
This looks amazing! I would like to request a recipe for bear claws!
Me, too.
Who else scrolls down to the comments just to check Chef John's replies to comments mostly schooling idiots that try to insult him 😂
Oh my goodness lol, apple fritters are my fav. And the glaze apple cider glaze on to......YUMMY!!
get recipe as always love you're voice and style always a treat to watch you're vids
Yum! My tree produced ALOT of apples this year and I like your version.
I'm not much for apples in pastries and pies and whatnot, but these look amazing. I'm gonna have to try them out!
These look aaaaamazing.
This looks great! I can't wait to try it!
Just try and relax, lol. They look amazing!!! I don't like under cooked apples either. Tyfs, God bless you
Oh man I felt personally called out there at the end lol. I watched about 16 episodes in a row the other night.
wow these look actually really easy to make! Thanks boss
Yummy 😁 Will try this one 4 sure!
Hard to keep slim with this guy, I tell ya. I tell ya.
Just one more before I go to bed... Chef John you know me too well! Hahaha
Chef John.. I love you
Amazing recipes and your awesome personal voice over. You've just got i all
Looks so good, but I prefer the traditional powdered sugar over the fritters...there's just something about cool powdered sugar on fried dough
Going to make this recipe on Sunday--thank's for posting!
Actually a genuis idea ! I was never one for apple fritters or any fruit fritters but I want to try this 😜😜👌🏼👌🏼
Always put a smile on my face! I've been wanting to make some so thanks for your version! Also did you notice that when those fritters were flipped one looked like a hippo one like a turkey and one looked like a donkey! Hm.. Thanks always Chef John!
Maybe I've been lucky, but I've never had an apple fritter that had undercooked apples. That being said, I will make this. It will be amazing
LMO " bought this decade", you can sift and do it in 2 minutes or not and do it in 10, like I prefer!!! LOL (loose transcription) hilarious...
Got it try this thank you chef.!!!
Oh when I saw the video notification, I was thinking it was the apple fritter rings that I really love but these look soooo good too :O I'm now dying for an apple fritter but it's 1am sigh. Gah I always end up watching these when I'm hungry and it's late hahaha.
Chef John thinks I will watch one more video before bed but I will watch even more than one! Muahahahahahahahaha
Who else thought the secret ingredient was gonna be cayenne??
Or possibly instant mashed potatoes.
LOL I'm not alone!!!!
looks so good! im gonna try this 😃
Looks so good!
Ha love ur vids! Love that you matched your top to the apples!! 😜
Millinium whisking... damn your good chef John
"Baking Powder... and please make sure the one you're using you bought this decade" Holy crap I laughed a bit too hard at that.
I think I'm going to try these right now!
YUMMO! This I gotta do!💝
Holy crap. I added this to my favorites before the first 5 seconds!
And did anyone else notice he was wearing a green shirt while peeling green apples? :)
Hi John these Look so good thank you for the Recipe I will make these one day
I love your end rhymes. So clever
Go to bed... Its 10am... a well can never get enough sleep!
10am is when most people are awake.
Not when you get off work at 0630.
Can I substitute the sparkling apple cider with a can of somersby? That's an apple cider anyways right? Plus I already have that in my fridge.
Dang!! Looks so good!!
I can't go to bed! It's 2 in the afternoon and I have to take care of my lawn!
At the end, your best pun ever.
"Millennial sifting" HAHAHA
Made these yesterday morning. I didn't have sparkling apple cider but I did have apple juice and prosecco. Ooohhhhhhhh yaaaaaaaaa
Looks Delicious Chef..! Thanks :)
made these, they're awesome -- but i didn't have sparkling cider, so i used a can of ginger ale. and it worked out fine.
Thank you for this idea! I have pollen-food syndrome/OAS and can't eat the under cooked apples.
