In many ways it is very misleading, the batteries are rated at 36v, you measure 35.6v on one of them, and yet the indication says it is completely depleted. It isn't until you charge them to 38v that there is a bit of life in the battery, and you actualy need to charge them all the way to 42v, before you have 3 green indicators. Batteries are weird.
I agree,,, these 18650 cells are normally rated at 3,6V,, so 10 of them in series is 36V,, but they work well down to 3volt,, so it could discharge battery down to 30V and be fine :-/
The last charger issue I had was on my ryobi. The AC side was passing power to the diodes, power upto the transformer but the caps at the logic side had 0v. The issue was mosfet which was specially ordered for about £6 gbp, pain to desolder but ultimately an easy fix. Also upgraded the 1200mah cells to 2200mah.
The batteries are quite the trash. Very high internal resistance. The saving grace is that it's possible to buy an offshore case+pcb.and place 10x inr18650-25r. At least this was my experience. It's true the charger runs too hot, though.
Thank you sir for the video , I wonder how batteries charged by connecting source to plus and minus of battery so for what purpose the small connectors in the middle of battery ??
Hello, please tell me, there are 6 small contacts in the center of the battery, I’m interested in the voltage for 3, I know that it is minus a 5 +? V, what voltage is the standby power for the instrument?
I think the mosfet break beacuse voltage more then 60V and now had 35V output. This fet connect to charge pins, First stage is 240V had high voltage fet (upto 600V dc) there had the problem not the sec step output pins
The electric lawn make not quite then patrol engine. by the way, black & dece had low quality tools. In power supply , the best is lniar ( transformer) then step down low quality power supply. The mosfet tran is p channel 60V, the charge voltage need to be 4.2 x 10 cells total 42V. I wiil use mosfet that can hold upto 100V . if you see 35 total voltage and had 10 cells , you dont need to check each cell voltage , divid by 10. 10 cell si
That owl at the start completely got me (i had headphones on), i was looking outside my window and looking where it is :D .
He He,, it was really noisy :-)
Great diagnostic video!
Yeah, good connection with other people is useful.. They can bring, sometimes, nice video content too.. 😉
This is a fairly expensive lawn mower,, so it is worth a fix :-)
My Husqvarna robot of the same age is still going strong. Hope that it continues with that for years yet ;-)
Yarh,, this one needs a new charger..
that worked for me.. thanks for posting
You're welcome! and thank you for letting me know..

Not all cells are 4.2v rated top balance, some are rated at 3.7v top cell balance. 3.2V and 3.7V cells are different.

@@MyPlayHouse lit-ion work from 3V upto 4.2V
In spec the charge need to be 4v upto 4.2V
These are sold in other countries as 40v batteries. The 18v version is sold as 20v.

nice with a fix and a upgrade :-)

Interesting stuff. Are you going to be doing a video on your lawn and the rototiller?
Nahh that is pretty borrowing,, this video is already doing pretty badly :-/
@@MyPlayHouse you'd be surprised how many people like watching grass grow
@@MyPlayHouse Maybe a short Saturday extra video for the people who want to watch? 😁
Hmm a switch mode power supply, they are lightweight.
You could check the voltage before the mosfets in case the switch mode has gone mad lol.
But this was so light,, that I was surprised to find a PCB that big..

May be for troubleshooting..
If you reprogram it to 512 bytes it will mow faster, but a bit less reliable
humm 512b and cutting edge technology. :-)
@@MyPlayHouse if the sector is big , you will waste space if you write files less sector size ( less 512 bytes) .

Sorry,, I think you kony more than me on this...
Next video : SAS HDD vs Lawn Mower .... guess the winner ! 😃
15K RPM Lawn Mower
If that Mosfet was available quickly I would change it and see if that was the problem
Yes,, I have ordered them,, but it can easily be weeks/months :-)

I was buld electrice bike controler for 1000W brush motor.
Spike and the fet gone , then i use N channel 600V with low ohm in On mode.
Hi Oren computer & electronics
Thank You very much! glad you liked the video :-)
Thank you for watching! :-)
Good video! But I can't stand the background music, I get anxiety: D
Don't worry,, nothing bad happens in my videos..
