I remember when I studied abroad at the University of Aberdeen. Watching this video reminded me of all the great things there and how much I miss it. Heck, I miss Scotland period.
Hey, I'm gonna start at the university of Aberdeen later this year! What did you study? And is it really that amazing? I'm having a hard time getting the feel of the place from videos :)
I was studying Psychology but focused on getting my core curriculum done when I was there. As for the school, I thought it was a very amazing place. It has a wonderful mixture of history and modern buildings. Most of the streets are cobblestone and some of the buildings are almost like castles but the student center and library are modern.
my husband was conceived in Aberdeen. Such a beautiful city. I would love to go there, we are sooo far away in Costa Rica now. His whole family is from there. Browns , Galloway , Adams
My Grand parents were from Aberdeen, born about 1888. As a Canadian I am struggling to support my life here, but more hard work should change that. Then I shall apply for a working visa and I will finally get to see my ancestral homeland.

I also can understand English on BBC or online university lectures on youtube, etc. But I still can't understand ordinary people in the streets or in my work (Leicester). It's simply horrible :) They don't use whole sentences, whole words and some words sound very different from what I've learnt. Not to mention that many native speakers speak fast as fck even though they know I'm a foreigner and they know my English is still not so good.
If any foreigner comes to my native country and tries to use Slovak language (for example my Mexican friend), I try to speak slowly and very clearly. I don't use slang words, shortcuts, vernacular language and fcking accent because I know he wouldn't understand.

Please show more of that shop centre - the biggest one I think its Union Centre - show more inside how big it is, and the cinema how does it look inside. Give us a sample of scotland language, how difficalt is to understand their accent.

In return I wanted to have a look on Aberdeen, so I came hereto. You start your presentation of a city with showing SHOPPING-Centers and shops! Because I want to contribute to stress and support everything concerning nature (for the citizen!) I give you a thumb down. Honestly! Is it really shopps that interest you most? No, it should be the beauty of a city: this is nature and architecture and culture....but without nature everything is nothing!

Yep, most of Aberdeen outside of the city centre is a no go area. If you do not live in these areas, and they realise you're an outsider, you can be in big trouble. I've been insulted as being "English" just for not spikkin lik a toonser an at, ken. Aberdeen people regard anyone from further than ten miles away as a foreigner.

You have the best weather and the best beaches in Europe. In Most places there is very minimal crime and very sociable people. The economic crisis is gone and the economy is rising.. And now that we found oil it is expected to rise faster. The architecture is nothing really beautiful though.
