Good Sir, I am going to repeat myself: one of the best series on youtube, wargame wise. Great narration Amazing boardgame and terrain Great figurine Interesting and somewhat obscure part of history for a non-scot / English ( French maybe, Auld Alliance and all .. ) Thanks, a thousand time.
Grand effort by the Prince, but I fear he is now nearly broken. I suppose the Jacobite forces could break into small units and conduct small harassing attacks, but as a field army the day seems about over
Yet again it’s not a decisive victory for the Hanoverians but for the Prince it’s no doubt becoming clear he just hasn’t the luck to continue, each loss is grinding him down in manpower that he simply can’t afford. Perhaps time for a last stand beneath the walls of Stirling. I cannot think returning to the highlands will be of any benefit so the final clash must come in the lowlands. And it will have to be nothing short of a miracle given the circumstances
Another great battle report, I was wondering when we would see some of the Jacobite units suffering from break up and desertion given the battle outcome and the location. I can appreciate your comment re setting up a table for a campaign game that fails to go ahead, still that is the fun of them you are never quite sure of the outcome.
Not sure about the Hanoverians having no strength in depth available. I understand that due to the constrictions of your campaign not every single unit can be represented and thus many of the real life units don't feature in this alternative timeline. However, should the Prince withdraw his small garrison from Fort George, there is no reason I can see for not having a pro Hanoverian rising in the north. Even with the loss of Loudons and some of these men being in the Black Watch, there are still a couple of thousand men among the the Whig Clans of the North (Grant, Gunn, McKay, Munro, Ross and Sutherland). Should the Prince not withdraw that one small garrison, a regiment of Marines and guns detached from the Government army and sent by ship to Inverness would effect a similar result. There are lots of spare muskets and captured cannon now to equip a small Hanoverian Highland army and invest Fort George if necessary.
This is better than anything on television

Another cracking engagement. Great stuff. Thank you for all your work on this. Very inspiring
Thank you. I have really enjoyed this campaign. It a high light of my month. I look forward to visiting Prestonpans soon.
And, once again, the Prince seems on the verge of triumph, and defeat rises like a phoenix.
Well this is a crass thing to say, but I hope this war never ends.
If the Prince thinks there is another battle left in his army, then Killiecrankie is the place to fight it. I'm not sure there is though...

We figured desertion was much more likely to be an issue when defeated units are close to home.
@@Prestonpans1745 makes sense
Excellent battle report. Thoroughly enjoyable thanks
To paraphrase napoleon, "the best generals are lucky" and the poor prince is not lucky.
