i work at a concentration camp memorial and i struggle talking with students about gaza because i know most of my co-workers (and the teachers) don’t share my views or would even consider them antisemitic. of course i can speak freely but that sums up the absurdity of the situation in germany. i want to talk about what we can actually learn from history - the dehumanization, the construction of a threat that needs to be eliminated so the nation can live etc. - and yet the most prominent example of how these mechanisms work is taboo

Dude, obviously netanjahu isn‘t hitler. if you watched this video you should know that the so called erinnerungskultur oftentimes is a shell, a state narrative and completely unreflected. if we wanna learn from historic fascism we have to understands its mechanisms, the normalization of violence, also real antisemitism of course. but am i supposed to tell palestinian students that their pain doesn’t count because it doesn’t fit into the german staatsraison?

@@ap2158 Yes, it's quite uncomfortable to not be able to be nice and truthful at the same time. It's not my fault that it is a fact, that Hamas wants to destroy Israel. And that most of this Palestinian students actually are antisemites.

Damn, the pervasiveness of brainwashing and chauvinistic/exceptionalist view of western European "culture" really is insane...
Generally, I'd say, European people trying help the world and fight US imperialism and hegemony should do one thing: STFU

Many years ago i was in an austrian "radical" left student group. Non-hierachical, anti-racist, feminist (...) all the good stuff.
In a plenum we discussed the upcoming anniversary of Israel's establishment and some wanted to organise a (pro-israel) event. (i was pretty new to this group)
I told them that i thought it's strange to praise any nation whatsoever and given it's lead by a right wing fundamentalist, even more strange. What followed was getting debated down by two people while the rest remained silent - they weren't super harsh or anything but the undertone of me just being a bit of an uneducated idiot that (unkowingly) enables anti-semitism was pretty clear.
After that was over, members told me - in secret - that they kinda agree, but that that's something i just can not say or debate.
This should have shaken me a lot more than it did back then.

yeah thats why there is anarchist groups who actually try to manage power imbalances. these post autonomous, anti auth. commie groups are just claiming to be democratic. they are just cults like the auth. groups. most small political groups are cults, if you like it or not. Anarchist have a destinction between warrented and unwarrented hierarchy, e.g. someone is really good in smth of course they will teach people in this thing, which is a logical hierarchy. most post autonomous groups are being led by manipulating idiots who cannot step outside of their ideology and are just elitist pieces of shit. like fr how many of these groups we have seen and they are all the laughing stock of anarchists. it has come to the point were i feel better working with leninists, bc they are atleast honest, we both know we are enemies. these post autonomists are just trying to take anarchist aesthetics to cover their authoritarian leaning and they are lying all day. no anarchist takes smbdy seriously who defends a states right to exist. 1) sure, the words of some people will always carry more weight than others regarding topics - i don't want my plumber to program a website and i don't want a programmer to mess with my piping. That's not what non-hierachical means.
      2) using "Common Sense" and "Natural" as arguments is circle-logic. It's also common sense & natural for sons to kill their fathers, but we largely stoped doing that because it's stupid.
      3) Organisation requieres structures and responsibilities. I've been working for a long time now and in my experience strict hierachy really hinders problem solving and the further "Up" someone is, the more immune they get to consequences of their actions and the more detachted they get from reality which is very bad for an organisation as a whole.

@@giftzwerg7345 I agree, but that's not how it is discussed. For example take the Berlinale where two Israeli citizens (one of Palestinian origin) explained that two sets of laws are applied to them.
Afterwards they were denounced, people had to defend that they were clapping for them, even though nothing antisemitic (and also nothing against the existence of the state of Israel) had been said there.

On the 3rd of october, the german state and it's patriotic bootlikers celebrated the "unification" of Germany. Germany was split in two in a response to its own crimes. Four days later, people in Gaza took down a border fence that was imposed on them, after their people were split into at least four sections, for the single crime of living on land that zionists wanted to colonise. Of course, the german press didn't see any of this. They called it an unprovoked attack, motivated by nothing but their supposed hatred for jews. Yes, german propaganda is entirely calculated. But it also only works because the german public is entirely underinformed about Palestine, the german war aims in eastern Europe, the Ghettos, the scramble for Africa. And yet, hearing the same few informations about Nazi Germany over and over again makes them think they know more than anyone else, and unfortunately well-meaning liberals outside feed into this delusion by looking up to Germany as some sort of positive example. What frightens me is, if germans actually saw the things for how they actually are, I think they'd rather drop their red, green, yellow and black exterior and just become open and proud Nazis instead of standing for any of the principles they claim and getting rid of their internal german exceptionalism

You'd be also well advised to re-read Jabotinsky's 1923 "Iron Wall", in which he clearly and repeatedly - though of course approvingly - calls the Z-ï-0-ñ-îßt Project a COLONIZATION, against the will and well-being of the existing, NATIVE population, who "will continue to resist as long as there remains a tiniest spark of hope of regaining their NATIVE land".

@AmpWave-x9m So you think the Z-ï-0-ñ-îßts can just keep on "Mowing the Lawn", sniping and killing or permanently maiming unarmed women, children, the disabled in their wheelchairs, the double amputees on their crutches, over the years on end WITHOUT ANY CONSEQUENCES?
The cynical, cold-blooded, barbaric, terrorist murder of Count Folke Bernadette, for which you have never been held accountable and which you lied and weaseled your way out of emboldened you, did it not?

The SPD (the Socialdemocratic Party of Germany) is pretty standard centre left.
The Linke (the Left) is anti-capitalist liberal left but lost all of its relevance with infighting and broken hierarchical structures, which often was in conflict with their own moral standards.
The BSW (the Alliance Sahra Wagenknecht) is a party centered around the founder Sahra Wagenknecht who is a stalinist and therefore follows politics that are in support of Russia over helping the people in Germany. It is authoritarian left.
Lastly, the Grüne (the Greens). They are environmental left.
I would say all of them are political left, with the exception of the BSW which has because of the beliefs of its founder more overlap with the far right than the left. Ironically probably the only party some of you would call left out of this list.

Really? Look at what happened to Labour or the french socialist party. Corbyn was even purged because he didn't follow the zionist line(or at least that was the excuse).
Socdems turning into neolibs over the past few decades is the rule in Europe rather than the exception.

@olivers.7821 complete nonsense. Wagenknecht has become a social democrat in recent years. Stalinist, my a**. Far right, my a**. You are regurgitating German corporate media propaganda. I hope you get paid well for it.

The BSW is the only leftist party for us outside Germany. Supporting Genocide is a big red line, like an American Highway red line.
To me, the rest of the parties are disgusting, especially the Greens, more like Caqui military Green: Pro NATO, Pro US, Pro Empire, Pro Colonisation, and supposedly environmentalists that supports opening new coal power stations.

~20 years ago I played an online game called power of politics, it was for players in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
There were parties, I was in the Guerillas Revolucionarios party. We had some of these "Antideutsche" as members. I was glad that we managed to oust them after a bit of idiotic discussions and fighting. Absolute insanity, their kind of "thinking", probably an invention of some "service" abroad. They were calling anticapitalism "structural anti-semitism", i.e. THEY were anti-semites.

It's so sad to see how the leftists in Germany break again because of this, they are criticised for beeing anti-Semitic because of their engagement towars the palestenian liberation and are dismissed by a lot of people for their solidarity with israel - that's the much bigger part in public. It breaks my heart. I criticise in both directions but mostly the anti d's who dismiss every action for freedom that includes acknowledging the crimes of Israel. What i critise about the others is that they fall into blind "fuck Israel" rhetoric (international problem) i know the reasons for it but as a leftist i don't see any reason for any countrie to exist but i also don't hate one single one and i won't say any countrie deserves existence less. We have to accept this fact to reuinite and find a solution for everyone. Leftist should hate the concepts and structures like nationalism, racism, colonialism but never the countrie or the people, we fight for the people and id wish we would not segregate like it's a football game.

Its so sad to see both-sideism between a genocidal, apartheid collonialism and its victims presented as normal rational stance. How are even supposed radical left Germans the purest liberals.
Please learn the difference between a state and a country. Should apartheid South Africa, with far more mild policies, should not be abolished? Is there two sides for that also?
Israel must be dismantled as a state as it is only current regime with racial, religious and ideological supremacy written into their laws, and the only current regime genociding and colonizing a population. People who you just cant see as equals from what i read.
