@@spingebill8551 depends on what they’re doing. I’ve experienced cheaters who were using cannons well out of their range and still landing shots. But an experienced cheater is hard to detect for sure.
I hope the player who uploaded that 20+ cheat files to gaijin remained safe, he did contact the local government for protection against threats, but it is hard to know how much people want him dead.
There were multiple cases that cheat makers were arrested, fined or jailed in China, but these took place when a game maker - usually Chinese studios, filed lawsuits against cheat makers because it affected their revenues.
Yeah, these groups often have a lot of financial interests too so like, not even just "upset", this guy could have cost them a huge sum of money, 100% has to watch out.

That's because the game doesn't really only rely on your aim and knowledge of enemy player locations. Players also have to know how to play around the strengths and weaknesses of their own tank, know how to best position themselves in and out of cover, and also be able to work with a team (despite the rather... special teammates war thunder is known for, games are still won with teams). A cheater like this probably did not even try to improve any of these aspects, and as a result only wins when they just happen to be in a good spot.

If you actually look at the game files besides authentication EAC hasn’t been updated file wise in over a year. Gaijin manually banning 40k players or at least using the source code to see if they’ve ever logged in with it on their accounts in this short of time is pretty nutty
So that means we’ll see all these cheaters come back because of the idiots that are publicizing how they figured out their cheats so they’ll know exactly what not to do to get past by their nonexistent anti cheat
Like always, big public ones get the hammer and it makes space in the game for the smaller ones to become more popular
@@chaosinsurgency6636 they know it already even without it. In every cheat program is ID and they can track one who used get into the code and how he used it in the game.
It is also case in Tarkov where cheaters can go into program and check who else is cheater but if you do that, creator of cheat imidiatelly contact you and you must tell why you done it.
It looks like some game companies are trying making this spy misions by themselfs and cheaters are just careful.

I knew the cheaters were getting far too common for my liking but learning that something like 1/5 of the playerbase was cheating is astounding to me.
my favourite cheaters were the ones who didn't even ATTEMPT to camouflage their efforts, ESPECIALLY SPAA players.
people who took a rapid fire autocannon SPAA and would fire single shots, at extreme ranges, where it would always hit if you flew straight.
not bursts, no ranging shots, just pew, pause, pew, pause, pew, hit, hit, hit, kill. and this was in games at the 3.3 to 5.7 range.

Kept telling me to 'Get Gud' or 'You're just bad' BUT LO AND BEHOLD. They were fucking banned and it wasn't just some bullshit conspiracy.

I've been a social drinking guy, I don't normally consume loads of alcohol. I do on occasion. But recently I have been drinking like a fish. It's causing me some problems and I have enough of those as is. So going to try and remove myself from alcohol.

Except it took a 3rd party to get them to act. And at 40k cheaters, they had an infestation. It should have never gotten that bad. On top of that this is only one group of cheaters how many other groups are out there?
@EQRuges I dont think you know how big getting the source code is for the game and yeah gaijin did need a 3rd party to supply it to avoid legal trouble. Due to in China stealing source code for cheats does allow gaijin to get sued.

The worst thing about the cheating in this community is, whenever i am 100% sure there is a cheater/hacker in either my or the enemy team i call them out and in 90% of all cases some random other players start defending the hell out of them because "I played this game for 300 hours and never saw a single cheater" and other, fun "reasons"...
And a good portion of the people defending them are sus themselves with things like 3000 battles in the BT5 or something (whilst not having more than 30 games in any other vehicles). Because buying botted accounts is also a thing.
if you ever wanna see some really funny things, just go in to a naval match and look at the profile of the first person you see in the USS Moffett. I've seen one with 10000 battles just with the moffett

Month or two ago. When chinese players come online around midnight, hacking was rampant. There was at least 1-2 hackers per game especially at top tier when i review the replay.
Now it has gotten a lot better.
yeah i had to learn to live with it cause i get home from work at that time n its the only time i have to play WT but it has gone down a bit..cant wait to see how this changes the game i mean wow thats alot of cheaters to get banned.

Usually, when I see big anti-cheater sweeps like this, my first concern is "Are they just going scorched-earth to look like they're doing something, and maybe catching loads of innocents in their dragnet in the process?" But it doesn't seem like there's much potential for that here. The lines of offending code are a completely objective metric to go by, so there's really not much room for error.

Problem is region lock won’t work, most Chinese players, mainland at least use vpns to bypass restrictions, therefore they can just change region and bypass the lock anyhow
But because of how they fucked servers that would lock out all of the Aussies, Kiwis and Japanese

what I am most surprised about is the 40k people cheating and that being probably like a tenth of the daily player base! lots of people have said that cheaters aren’t that common but now this just proves they are. there are at least 1-2 cheaters in every match lmao.
So true a lot of people just don’t realize how much people cheat like shots from 1 kilometer away while your under cover and tons of trees jnfront of the shot is not realistic at all
And I think most of them are in ground RB, it's crazy how some ppls constantly seem to know where you are miles away, in air RB it's mostly bots that go for bases and then J out or go straight

That many cheaters explains the amounts of times ive had the breach sniped out of my Challengers or Chieftains at extreme ranges, by vehicles that i know don't have the sights to hit me at the ranges they do THAT accurately. perfectly sniping the tiniest weakspots on vehicles that are barely showing anything of their turret, in a hull down position.

To be fair you don't need good optics when the tank you're aiming at are the size of a barn.
When you are hulled down its super ez to get a shot on you cuz youre not moving lol
When you look at them, and they aim for the turret ring, they're more likely to hit your barrel due to the fact that the shell has to be coming in from a top down angle at that range.

Lately I've found myself getting more and more frustrated with cross-map shots that seem just entirely impossible without a miss here and there, or even a ricochet or non-pen. Especially with lower BR tanks that just don't have the technologies available to offer that kind of consistent accuracy. I hope these bans improve War Thunder going forward.
or getting shot through thick tree cover that you couldnt see through yet they somehow seen you or when you are hiding and someone rolls up like they know EXACTLY where you are ..yeah ..i have had alot of that ...last night i died three times to the same guy who just so happened to be looking exactly where i was gonna be every time i died the first time though "ok i will go to the other way " die again to him waiting like he knew i was gonna be there spawn again and think ok im gonna go from the other spawn ....nope..i pop up over a ridge in my m22 and he is waiting smokes me ...i had no more points to spawn after that n when i messaged him he said "yeah i was on a alot huh..." as if he didnt just spot me out three times in a row before i could get a shot on him in his low br japanese arty.
Ya I've seen shots go through tiny gaps between multiple buildings to strike less than a turret showing. The reaction time on such a shot isn't possible without cheat assistance not to mention the prior tracking of a vehicle they couldn't see.
thats been my experience as well, you can tell in the replay bacuse their turret will track enemy tanks that arent visible.
I've noticed a lot less bot USS Helenas in Naval that's for sure!
I haven't played in months and it was a problem back then too. Even considering skill some of those shots seemed a little too good.

they are not cheating to have bragging rights, they are cheating to sell the accounts and make real money. The chinese do this in EVERY online game. At least in WT, we are not fighting over resources, and items, well i guess bases could count as that. Lineage II, it was so bad that Korea had their own server to keep the chinese out, but the rest of us had to share with the chinese which ended up killing the game.

Yesterday I killed a guy in ground arcade at 6.0 who was absolutely abysmal, no map awareness, drove into the exact same spot twice and died to my tank.
Then suddenly I got hit by the same guy from his spawn at a distance of over 3km away with a direct hit to the ammo rack.
I decided to check him after seeing this video and yep, he’s banned now lmao.

Tip of the iceberg he discovered 20 or so illegal mods from one country/group. He'd need to re-do these effort in the US, Europe etc.. to get the rest.
Gaijin mods are some of the wors human beings, honestly (in terms of moderating a forum)

They probably reacted so quickly because the winter event is starting tomorrow, probably wanted to take them out now so they would have little to no chances of earning anything from the events and therefore not be able to sell accounts.
Theyll all make new accounts and be back before the end of the day. I feel sorry for the legit new players on low tiers because theyre about to get wrecked.
They said you can't hack/cheat in war thunder.. .go back through the last 5 years, how many times did they say it wasn't possible? Now they ban 10k accounts? Sounds like a class action lawsuit needed.

Ever since the peak of botting a while back I did start to notice odd behavior in ground RB. That mode is rife with RNG and people happening to look at the right place at the right time, but I was noticing that I was getting hit before I barely even round a corner a suspiciously large number of times on maps like Breslau which have tons of potential paths. I would sometimes even recognize the same name killing me a few times in a row, either in one or across multiple battles.

I've really started to notice it recently when playing CAS against spaa's, some at low BR seem to have the same accuracy as a modern spaa with locking abilities, seemed kinda fishy.
2 weeks later, all the cheaters are back, out of 10 games tonight, around 1/2 have had enemy players constantly nailing my team through cover,concealment and across the whole map (which hasnt happened much in the last 2 weeks)
I really didnt think this game was so full of cheaters, its crazy that a ban wave this large can come out of nowhere and even make a noticable dent in the player count, honestly thats pretty bad.
And yeah ive played for awhile, got about 1000 in match hours and really never thought that many people were hacking, I guess this would be an easier game to hide it in though.
I have noticed cheaters in maps lately. Don't know if i am getting better at noticing them or there are more of them
A lot of them are also getting worse at hiding it, or rather, dont give a damn anymore. Had a dude in the same game as me on sunday who was dropshotting people several hills (and treelines) away, he got called out in chat, and suddenly couldnt hit a single target anymore. Watched the replay afterwards and his gun snapping into place and perfectly following the movements of guys he couldnt see, hear or could have guessed from seeing them go into that position. (Dude was in an ISU)
It is a bit concerning to me to see how many people of it are playing for several years and some even since the beginnings of Tank Matches. It makes me wonder of how long they must have "possibly" been cheating in the game :o
I basically quit ground realistic at tier 3 due to people flinging 1 shot shells from literally across the map behind cover. This person is a War Thunder hero.
You just got me motivated to finally update my client and get back in there.
That is the one so called cheat that can very frequently be just excessive skill. I know peopel that have memorized angles to hit specific classic camping spots from 3km away on a few maps. The issue is only when these people consistently can do that against several positions on demand.
@@tiagodagostini If the opposing tank wasn't visually firing from behind solid cover, effectively making them blind but still having 100% accuracy, I wouldn't be so fussed. Thankfully that shouldn't be much of an issue for at least a little while now.
I think Gaijin did the right thing in doing a ban wave. They should actually hire that undercover cheater for their server security. That way, if new things appear that bypass the Anti-Cheat, then that code could be extrapolated, then sent for another ban wave once every few months so the hackers don't have time to adapt.
On another note, I would be terrified seeing seven or eight TOG 2's in a line like that Kuban match all aimed at one person.

Thats why they are cheating, cause without the cheats their K/D would be in the negatives 😂
There are two types, the average sorta decent players who become god tier players and the really bad players who become sorta decent. But all in all, I have seen my fair share of cheaters. Ground forces is where they tend to be. Air battles not so much. At most the cheat they could get is radar where they can see the whole map and where everyone is.
And these cheaters were banned ONLY because an infiltrator, Gaijin didnt actually do anything to find them.

Seen enough recently to know when someone is using assistance - 5.7 RB:GF, some guy getting 18 kills 0 deaths (on my side) pixel sniping from half the map away. 9.3 RB:Air, oblique head-on sniped with one round (no spray and pray, literally pilot sniped with a 1 round burst) from a Mig-19... when there was a massive skyscraper between us until the very last millisecond.. who then went on to get a further 6 gun kills.
Usually when I start seeing that kind of stuff I quit for the evening

While you can say many things about the War Thunder community one thing you can't is say they they lack commitment or passion. I would say the same goes for Gaijin themselves, while not on the best of terms with the community at times you can tell they do have a commitment and passion for the games they make. Cheers to both this UNIT in China that did this and cheers to Gaijin for taking action so swiftly.

I love WT but get so frustrated playing with obvious cheaters. I realize I'm not the best player, to say the least and many of my frustrations are due to my own lack of skill, but it is so obvious sometimes it makes me want to move on to something else. I never understand the fun in winning by cheating, that is the sign of true scumbag losers..
They need to use actual trusted players to monitor the game. Just the veterans on RUclips could be a game changer
I’m not surprised that there were 40k Chinese cheaters. Im just glad that Gaijin took the initiative and stepped up to tackle this. No doubt pissed off a lot of the Chinese people and probably would even be banned in China if it makes big enough rounds. Stuff like this doesn’t really go unnoticed.
There are some Western cheaters too. Dude joined my squadron for SRB and eventually admitted he had cheats. We never would've guessed if he didn't come out and say it.

@@kentoncompton3009 well, my guess is that the Chinese vendors also sell their cheats all over the world. I don't see any point in them only limiting themselves to China. In other words, most likely the 40k ban included people all over the world, even if it was mostly Chinese/Russian/whatever

Now I understand why I could significantly increase my survival using a plane in tank RB by just using the old tail wagging technique…. I usually started to get pepper out by spaa hits in a game and once I start wagging the tail all spaa start missing and I could see the tracers going left and right left and right… it was hilarious

the number of times I have seen and reported this unusual behaviour, people tracking through obstacles and unerring aim at distances you cannot even see via binoculars, yet they hit on the exact weak spot of your tank. its such a joke and ruins the game

God damn! It's annoying in other modes but in Naval cheating is just absurd. Especially those stupid bots...
I like the game and I am not very good but I now know there are people worse than me who have to cheat to be good. I never understood cheating, how can you feel good knowing your useless.

Sometimes they shoot two shells, one is the player's and the other is the real one which is directed directly to the target. This is what I saw in one of Gum's videos but unfortunately I'm not good enough to tell if someone is cheating or not (especially because of the death cam's goofiness) so I can't say that I saw someone cheating in my games😅
For Ground RB, probably the wall hacks and maybe the aimbot/aim assist.
For arcade? No idea
For sim? Everything...
In ground it's wall hacks and auto aim, if you watch some Twitch streamers who are actually good at the game they run into this soany times and it's actually hilarious how obvious it is when you watch the replay!
Wallhack alone in this game would be pretty OP not even talking about other hacks
Now they just need to do something about the people who edit the audio to make missiles extremely loud so the can hear them coming and flare them.
The cheating is pretty bad at times. Unfortunately, a goodly number of the cheaters are Chinese and Russian players. Even in low tier matches, before the match starts, I look at the team compositions and see how many players have Mandarin or Cyrillic characters in their names (or if they have obvious Russian or Chinese squadron names). I then check the stats to see if they have a really high K/D ratio. If I catch them doing anything sus, I will watch the replay. I've reported several to Gaijin, and several to the WTCS youtube channel. I also call them out in chat, so the other players know. I've sent a few some polite DM's as well. Remember kids, if you send someone a DM in game and use foul language, you can get chat banned.
My fave is to directly ask them in chat where they downloaded their cheats from.
i should have been chat banned 100 times by now for foul language, banning poty mouth players ranks somewhere around "br decompresion" and "lets fix LQ mode / engine sounds so the game doesnt have inbuilt cheats"
When i started playing in 2015 I went from congratz players for a good shot to now just checking the Replay as to how they managed to shoot across the map with no visual of me
I will admit that I am definitely not a top skill player. I do just okay sometimes, lose alot more than I win. I have been playing since about year out of release off an on. I can count on one hand the amount of people I have seen that I could say with 100% were cheaters. Until the past couple months. It seemed to me in both Ground and Air anytime a player had a Chinese name in their language I suspected they were cheating. Like getting pilot killed with one shot not once per game but several times by that player. Look at the stats and they have like 14 kills and no deaths. Same with ground. I got killed in the spawn within seconds of the game starting by people with Chinease language names. Can I say for certain they were cheating no and I did not call them out. I reported it as suspicious and with this video and I can now guarantee they were cheating. I don't get upset, its a game and I just move on and play another. But why on Earth would you cheat in this game, it would make it less fun for sure

my favorite cheater to run into are the ones where the bullets dont even come out of the barrel of the gun, they come out of the sides of the planes and lock onto you >.> no its not a bomber with turrets thanks in advance.

Thankfully I recently disabled the sound mod I had enabled. From what I heard you can get banned from using sound mods, as that could be considered cheating in a way. I legit checked my account real quick after seeing this vid lol.
Sound mods aren't allowed outside just normal battles. Sure you "could" but the chances are very low, I still use a sound mod and I'm fine

If you download sound mods from WT live then you are safe.

About damn time something is done about cheaters, fuck'em!! I was completely fed up with cheaters constantly in game........ THANK YOU whom ever got that code!!
I remember one time when I reported someone for cheating in the earlier days and Gaijin's response was "there are no cheaters in war thunder because it's impossible with our server side setup". Now they had to ban over 30 percent of the player base in one wave lol. No, no cheaters here. Looks like what happened to tarkov was a lesson to devs.
For me at peak times i usually see about 200k - 230k players on, im expecting that to drop to around 160k now after watching this
These days ,the cheating is so obvious .Once got killed by a guy who used a 2s38 and when I looked at the replay ,i could see him locking into targets the moment he peeked out.Bro was so obvious and he even full auto the 57 mm cannon of the 2s38 like literally brrrrttttt.Guys these cheaters are not evem hiding it anymore ,Gaijin needs to address this rampant cheating otherwise it will be unplayable soon...

Yeah I was in a game with friends who had a drone flying around telling me where dudes are. But what we saw was this turms player with a bunch of numbers looking at me when I was in a ditch flanking object. He was just looking at me through a building and only moved when I did
Lying and cheating is a national sport in China....
this guy literally wiped out at least a quarter of the entire player base of war thunder. He not only freed us from horrible game experience but also alleviated the server hamsters. Also our favorite firefighter is bout to reach 70K!!
