I've seen the Blaupunkt GBW120 12" subwoofer on WalMart.com for a while now and the $19.99 price tag just seemed crazy to me (now $24.99). Buy 2 and shipping is even free! This sub has decent specs and 400 watt RMS power handling and 800 watts peak. I decided it would be really cool to mount it inside the acrylic Gately Audio subwoofer box and do some demos, then see how much power it would handle before it blows up. How much do you think it will take?

Man, I remember when Blaupunkt was really high end stuff
a $20 sub that did as it was advertised to do impressive , some of these bigger companies need to take notes...cough cough Pyle

You fumigated the room when you blew the speaker. Therefore you need to ventilate the room to get rid of the fumes you created by blowing the speaker.

Today you can put some decent bass in your ride for around $100 bucks . Remember what $100 bucks would get you back in the day? Diddly Squat.

Are you kidding me I always thought Walmart had the biggest baddest loudest subwoofers around?
Your demo has increased the price to $39 at Walmart
That's amazing quality for ~$20. Back in the day around that price would land you a "VR3" brand subwoofer that would make a loud popping noise if turned up to a decent sounding volume. Now you can get one of these that can actually handle entry-level amps, and could last years too!
That moment when a blaupunkt $20 dollar sub handles more power than a Rockville k9 🤣🤣🤣

Do you think mtx road thunder tube sub with 12inch and 150w rms integrated amplifier is good for a price of 35 euros without cables and bass remote in second hand ?
What are the box specs for the 8 and 10 inch version of these? Like mounting depth and airspace for sealed? Cant seem to find it on Google or the Blaupunkt website. Thanks.
Blaupunkt used to be a really good German brand, but now is a cheap brand. Still impressed that it pulled almost 1kw
Whats your opinion on Renegade subs? I've got an rxv1200 supposed to take 300wrms, but at 10a drawn by the amp it sounds "empty" and loses output the more I give it from there. I guess thats what you call distortion? It looks very similar to this blaupunkt in terms of magnet sizr and beefyness. What do think it can handle? And what would be the first sign of overpowering, temps, smoke and smell, bottoming out, or distortion?
I just tryna build something small for under my computer desk, will this do the job? Sometimes I'll love to play music fof atleast one hours
