I had to calc the Gmae3 Draco kill on Mega Kan. It had to be a high damage roll. 252 SpA Choice Specs Hydreigon Draco Meteor vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Mega Kangaskhan: 307-363 (87.4 - 103.4%) -- 25% chance to OHKO
just a thought here.. those players are wearing some headphones with microphones... what are they listening to? the commentator? or do they have a coach?
cause 6v6 single battles are broken at the core, look how much stuff smogon has to ban to keep it balanced, 4v4 doubles was created as a competitive format
***** and here is why none of those work -all ghost die to 1-2 crunches which they can carry -mega mawile and ferro cant tank +2 hammer arms/earthquake or the rare special move like fire blast which can happen because its special attack is pseudo 110 base -rotom cant willo sub same with intimidate plus return does like what 90-100% -a -1 khan is still able to ko offensive pokemon snd 2 hit ko basically anything else -offensive fighting types hate taking hits plus a double crit fake out ohkos mienshou which i know from experience nice counter. -all your rocky users either can't tank a return or hate a special hit. -all your counters literally take no effort for khans teammate just to go "haha you just gave me the game by relying on it" any argument of saying khan never uses anything but power, sucker, fake, returns is total BS whenever i see players in the top 16 - finals of play they actually are more likely to deviate from it because having a curve ball on a pokemon that forces you to rely on your "counters" may as well give you the first game automatically.
Ok instead of faulting your stupid logic which I've heard by justifying it with "but it docent run those moves and you can always predict" lets try something else lets put mewtwo into vgc because quite honestly i'd have an easier time checking mewtwo -aegislash can ohko with sahdow ball or shadow claw even if it is X -focus sash gastly can do a large chunk with shadow ball causing it to be useless -sash mirror coat -sash counter -life orb sucker punch from a dark type like absol or bisharp -accelgor can ohko with specs bug buzz -sabelye can resists all common moves on mewtwo and stall it out with burn and dark offense -scizor can u-turn and bullet punch Y to death and only worry about fire moves -chadelure can ohko with shadow ball with scarf and sash -ammonguss can spore if it is sashed or rage powder away the attacks which you can then ohko with something like khan -khan kos most common varients with return or sucker -chomp can destroy X with rocky helmet or severely weaken it -fairy types can moon blast x for the ohko now then as you can see pokemon as overlooked how balanced number 150 is so i say let it in vgc because with a max of 194 compared to 213(parental bond boost) mewtwo will find a very balanced place in vgc next up i plan for the underwhelming xerneas to enter vgc.
something about having a notepad next to you as you play is lame its like if you used them in chess its just wrong, then again what do you expect from vgc competitive players.
ActionStar00 i'm well aware of the benefits... that is not the point, but i doubt you really care since most people who say something like that say "but using every resource is what winners do" where i'll respond with "games arn't just about trying to win" and then you go "it's your opinion some of us like to use notepads to better predict our opponents just because you don't dosent mean it shouldn't be fround on" and i'll say "but it takes the fun out of it if you win like a calculator plus it takes most of the skill out of it, look at chess they bann notes" and you say "but winning is fun you just can't handle brining a a4 notepad with out" and i'll just give up and just roll my eyes and say "you don't understand" so lets just skip that
windwaker0rules Uh...? Well I understand your logic in it taking out the fun, but note that this is extremely competitive. Though if you look, they are having fun doing it, just because you add calculations doesn't ruin it. It's like hacks, it may take out the originality out of it, but it doesn't make it not fun. It all pins down to opinion, I believe. I just think that he wanted to play the best he could, but he obviously still had fun with it.
ActionStar00 well for some reason i think a guy in the finals would have a hard time complaining but i bet if you asked every opponent who played him you would at at least some that was a bit miffed about note taking plus just because he found it fun how do you know he isn't thinking "errrgh a notepad really?" or "damn i should've brought one maybe next time i can smash everyone without effort i'm going to bone everyone!" anyway my statement was if we had a long drawn out and might i admit boring discussion, my point was more on how the game is played then the games entertainment. Plus when you see people this obsessed with winning abusing everything they can no matter how obviously horseshit the rules are, honestly i wouldn't be surprised if at some point the winner brings some kind of signal jacker to make the opponents moves come out wrong and they spam power up punch on ghost types because you know if you have the resources all is fair...
windwaker0rules Are you listening to what you're typing? It's not cheap and it doesn't make you "win without effort." If they didn't bring it it's their fault, and it doesn't ruin the game if you didn't have one. I've seen tons of people still get smashed even with them having taken notes, and if you enter the championships, you can't expect someone not to be taking notes. If not on physical writing, they're taking notes in their head, which isn't much of a difference. Honestly, it's not an overpowered thing or "abuse," nor is it a fault in the rules. It's a COMPETITIVE Championship. If they want to have a fun tourney they can enter a gamestop one or a Battle Spot tourney, but the regionals and nationals are extremely competitive, and those that make it far in aren't solely for the fun, but also for the competition. And just having intense battles is fun in itself.
Damn, that Dark Pulse prediction that comes to fruition at 4:35 is just BEAUTIFUL.
You can REALLY FEEL the enthusiasm at the end.......

do you guys know where next years VGC is going to be? i will be in San Fransisco in july next year and i hope to compete?
Those first turn plays though.
Anybody know how far Ray rizzo got?
ConfuseRay Rizzo lost to Adib the day before in the semis
I thought Jon Hu lost to Alex...Ah whatever, things must have slipped my mind. Rizzo did lose in the semis though, right?
no idea thats why im asking lol
Shady Sjin I beat both Rizzo and Jon Hu in top 8 and top 4 respectively.
I swear, Alex and Adib both used some op pokemon.
just a thought here.. those players are wearing some headphones with microphones... what are they listening to? the commentator? or do they have a coach?
They had headphones so they would NOT hear the commentators ;)
that prediction tho, damn!
Wtf is the 6v6 office world champion match. Smh double battles only been round since 3rd Gen, why do they support it more than 6v6
cause 6v6 single battles are broken at the core, look how much stuff smogon has to ban to keep it balanced, 4v4 doubles was created as a competitive format
Sonic they have to make bans because pokemin have made it balanced around doubles. If it was balanced around singles then doubles meta would have bans
sonicjms and then you have khan being broke in about 1/2 of all games, honestly they don't care about any metas balance.
***** and here is why none of those work
-all ghost die to 1-2 crunches which they can carry
-mega mawile and ferro cant tank +2 hammer arms/earthquake or the rare special move like fire blast which can happen because its special attack is pseudo 110 base
-rotom cant willo sub same with intimidate plus return does like what 90-100%
-a -1 khan is still able to ko offensive
pokemon snd 2 hit ko basically anything else
-offensive fighting types hate taking hits plus a double crit fake out ohkos mienshou which i know from experience nice counter.
-all your rocky users either can't tank a return or hate a special hit.
-all your counters literally take no effort for khans teammate just to go "haha you just gave me the game by relying on it"
any argument of saying khan never uses anything but power, sucker, fake, returns is total BS whenever i see players in the top 16 - finals of play they actually are more likely to deviate from it because having a curve ball on a pokemon that forces you to rely on your "counters" may as well give you the first game automatically.
Ok instead of faulting your stupid logic which I've heard by justifying it with "but it docent run those moves and you can always predict" lets try something else
lets put mewtwo into vgc because quite honestly i'd have an easier time checking mewtwo
-aegislash can ohko with sahdow ball or shadow claw even if it is X
-focus sash gastly can do a large chunk with shadow ball causing it to be useless
-sash mirror coat
-sash counter
-life orb sucker punch from a dark type like absol or bisharp
-accelgor can ohko with specs bug buzz
-sabelye can resists all common moves on mewtwo and stall it out with burn and dark offense
-scizor can u-turn and bullet punch Y to death and only worry about fire moves
-chadelure can ohko with shadow ball with scarf and sash
-ammonguss can spore if it is sashed or rage powder away the attacks which you can then ohko with something like khan
-khan kos most common varients with return or sucker
-chomp can destroy X with rocky helmet or severely weaken it
-fairy types can moon blast x for the ohko
now then as you can see pokemon as overlooked how balanced number 150 is so i say let it in vgc because with a max of 194 compared to 213(parental bond boost) mewtwo will find a very balanced place in vgc next up i plan for the underwhelming xerneas to enter vgc.
Could you please... cut out the audio for all the battles and recommentate them =/ These commentators were garbage imo
"with how important this tournament is" what...
1:58 that kid...
aaron HYPErtron zheng... that is all
something about having a notepad next to you as you play is lame its like if you used them in chess its just wrong, then again what do you expect from vgc competitive players.
Because it's important to note down possible sets and the opponent's team for predicting moves and switch-ins.

Anyone else watch the kid in the front row wearing the hat?
lol yes cx
Probably Tyranitar is a Sassy with Safety Goggles or Assault Vest.
the tyranitar was specially frail so that rules that out and why would it need safety goggles?
EJSjjh what are saying tyranitar has one of the best sp def in the game with sandstorm boost
hydreigon is much more useful as lvl 50 imo OHKO's a lot of things it couldn't at 100
and then that crit >.> this is a painful match i mean he was at 65% so it was a roll at lvl 50 but cmon i would have been tripping on stage lol
lol that little kid in the front
I wish I had a better doubles team and had done better for this...
Bird , sword n shield , mega mom, probably sums up VGC 14
lol well I went in with a team that wasn't designed for doubles at all
i see im not very good at doubles
but nintendo would never care about is singles players :(
The commentator called tallonflame a win button
Im done
He called it a win button because Brave Bird had a 100% chance to ko gyarados at that point. It was indeed "click here to win."
dude i know :p
Intense
I'm relatively new to competitive Pokemon, so forgive me if I sound like an idiot. But, why are they not following smogon tiers?
Smogon tiers are unofficial, people follow their rules because they like them but official VGC has different rules
+Leonardo Luque Garro Ah... Well thanks. I was wondering why everyone has a mega Kangaskahn.
its a fun tier but its unofficial
David Estrada it's vgc....It's realy official
