  • It might have a short bed, but thanks to the unibody structure design, you can actually fit some pretty wide things in the back between the wheel wells. This Ridgeline in Black Edition has some unique cosmetic upgrades as well. See what there is to know before you buy!

Nice review, but it seems that every review of the 2nd generation Ridgeline complains about the “fake” seam between the C pillar and the bed. It’s actually a real seam, since the bedside is bolt-on and replaceable without any cutting and welding. A distinctive advantage in my opinion.

Just traded my 17 for a 21 this last October. I loved the 17,but liked the new front end, so traded up. My cousin has also had 2, which is why I got my 17 originally. Great and under-appreaciated vehicle. Most of those critics about its towing and off-road ability are people who will buy a Raptor and yet not tow or off-road in it. Let them be insecure, and we can enjoy a great truck in our Hondas.

Just bought a 2022 Sport...sliver/black...love it...so far 21-28 mpg at the pump...and the computer was pretty close. The reason Honda no longer has the no seam body is very simple...it was a repair nightmare... Have a dent in the bed large enough that the body panel had to be replaced it was very difficult and expensive repair...

I had a 2020 and honestly it was one of the best vehicles I’ve ever owned. Quick, handled great, super versatile and great mileage. The only reason I got rid of it was I need something that towed more. If money permits I’ll add another one back to the fleet.

I have a 2009 Ridgeline that I absolutely love, and for many of the reasons presented here. With only regular maintenance and replacing wear items, it drives like it did when new. Watching this video convinced me to keep on driving my 13 year old truck; it has 95% of what the new version offers without a $45k price tag. Maybe someday I’ll get a new Ridgeline, but for now I’m sticking with my ‘09.

I have a 2023 and I really like it. It's been fun to go back to previously visited places in the desert and get up to trailheads and points-of-interest that I couldn't get to in my RAV4. I'm not going to say that this thing is the greatest off-roader around but it really works for the low-intensity stuff that I do, mainly dirt roads that are too beat up to use in the RAV4 that I previously owned. A couple weekends ago I went down into a bowl off the main road, parked, and did some hiking. In the last 15 minutes of my hike, a freak storm rolled in. Where I parked was easy to get into but when I got back to the truck, the only way out was a muddy rutted road with enough slope that it was pretty sketchy, I was really worried about getting out of there. I selected mud-mode and got up out of it a lot easier than I expected. In my old RAV4, that would've really been a problem!

Poor (Driver) seating position, weak powertrain (engine), shifty transmission, bug eyed front fascia (headlights), and overpriced, outdated vehicle . I put a deposit on one, an RTL-E version, and should have it in a few weeks. Crazy market is the worst part! Due to the supply chain issues there were none at the dealer, and no cars at all in the same color so I'm not sure what it will look like. It's a Honda though and they never look horrible, it seems to be their philosophy to blend in with the surroundings. It's a seller's market for cars right now, so it cost a bit more than I'd like to pay, but with two late model used cars to trade I'll probably forget about that once I get my hands on it if it's as good as this and other reviewers are saying. No off-roading in my future unless there's a horrible accident, so I'll take the more comfortable ride and enough bed space to haul my suburban gardening supplies.

I have a 2020 Ridgeline RTLe Trim with 15k miles. The dealer keeps sending me messages trying to get me to trade-up to a 2022 edition with no increase in payments. I'm not biting on that deal for lots of reasons. I do love this truck - and with new, and very aggressive snow tires, it handles Great in the snowy winters we have in the Upper Mid-West. The factory tires are shit on snow; but that is my only complaint, other than that, this truck is excellent.

2021 RTL-E owner Note that the heater has supposedly 4 heat cycles. Note that there is NO difference between floor/defrost and floor. When you select FLOOR it continues to send heat to the defroster (and floor). Compound this with a very small floor outlet and it makes for cold feet in our -30F climate. Not an issue for most. However, my wife and I go up to the Canadian Border to our off-grid place once a month and now wear electrically heated socks to counteract this design flaw as we drive up there. The dealer says that is intentionally designed that way. Also note the very small floor heater outlet which compounds the issue. Also, note (not an issue for most folks) you may NOT put a winch on that frame. You may use a hitch mounted temporary winch in the rear as an alternative, but a disappointment for me, but not for most.
Also, the 18-inch tires are too small for a truck that tries to be a “big boy” truck. I like the truck as I do drive in the city mostly, but if you are looking for something more rugged, I would look elsewhere. Bear in mind that a hybrid version is probably “right around the corner” which will have better resale once the chip issue settles down. The navigation is not good. Just today, I had to use my Google app on the hone to counteract the incorrect directions on the RTL-E.
Overall, it has a wonderful ride and does haul loads as stated.

Most Ridgelines will only see a gravel parking lot, so what does it matter if this vehicle can't perform as well as other trucks in the mountains . Better cold start, adaptive cruise control, no ventilated seats in US and slightly less expected mpg (20.8 over 7k miles with occasional light towing) are my only gripes.
