Graham is really the best companion of the 3 new companion. I feel the actor and character brings out the best out of the others.

great analysis, im glad you pointed out that the other doctors can be as cruel as they want but if 13 wants to do something that fans disagree with she is immediately demonised for it.

"If someone trusts you enough to lean on,don't let them fall"
Sometimes all people need is someone to listen

I have found myself in Dr. 13's shoes SOOOOOO many times in my life because I'm very quiet. People come to me when they need to vent, usually because they know I won't say anything to anyone else.
And let me tell you, it feels like this EVERY. DAMN. TIME.
Sometimes I'm a little stunned by what they tell me. Sometimes I can offer a suggestion, but that's not always. And I worry every time that it "wasn't enough". But those people always thank me just for listening. So even if that's all you can do, just listen. It probably means more than you think.

I feel like if everything that's being pointed out in this video had been verbalized in the scene, fans may have reacted better, which is actually sad, that some viewers never seem to stop and think through not only their reactions to something like this, but what is actually being communicated in the scene without it having to be explained fully to them.

One thing Ive seen being criticized at Chibnalls writing all the time is the "Show not Tell" criticism. So weird that telling in this scene would be better.

It's like over the show's 57-year run, the Doctor has never done anything that could be percieved as callous before. I mean, have they even seen Colin Baker's original run?

I may one of the exceptions who don't like Graham as a character. But this scene, I I did like, and for precisely the reasons that were stated in the video: it is two people allowing themselves to be genuine and vulnerable to each other, we could draw inspiration from this scene, instead of annoyance, and, if we do the latter, we would do well to be critical about that feeling.

What's your reasoning for not liking him? I'm fairly neutral on all three companions, I was just curious to hear someone's opinion 😊

I loved this scene so much. It was powerful in its own right and really spoke to how this doctor is characterized. She's still very much the doctor and throughout the Doc's incarnations they've all shown a hard time trying to do human things, emotions and life and just everything that makes us us. So it goes without saying I'd expect _any_ doctor to have problems with what to say in that situation.
If Rory came to 11 and said the same thing I'd expect it to sort of play out the same, just maybe a little more comedic from 11's side and maybe more emotional from Rory but the core of it would be the same thing. The Doctor doesn't human emotion well. And hell, like you said humans have a hard time dealing with that stuff all the time and it doesn't lessen anyone who just wants to sit and listen.

Nearly ALL of the complaints are based on the Doctor being female. ALL. One more time, all.
