Replacing and/or cleaning the MAP Sensor on a Dodge Journey (or other Pentastar v6 Engine)

Hey everyone, hope you're having a good day or evening... for today's video, thanks to Roxas on the Dodge Journey Nation on Facebook, it's on replacement or cleaning of a MAP Sensor on a 3,6L VVT Pentastar V6 Dodge Journey. Due to this being for a Pentastar V6, this may work on other Pentastar equipped vehicles as well (just note the different orientation when you take it out on a longitudal mounted engine (in other words, if it's RWD). Some DJs may have you yank it out at the 3 o'clock position; however, on mine it was 4 o'clock, You're welcome to try what works for you.
Cleaning this sensor can restore some MPGs, if the engine is running a little odd it may improve things, etc. If it can't be cleaned out then you'd have to replace it.

Hello, ive been having issues with my Dodge Journey 2015 2.4engine
Ive taken it too soooooo many mecanics they don’t find the issue, im done spending money

If this sensor went bad, would it cause car too completely stop this is a problem i have, also when im driving and i turn on my AC thats when the car will come too a complete stop

Yeah. If you turn on the A/C and your engine immediately stalls, I'd definitely be looking at the a/c compressor, most likely it's siezed
Does 2.4L flexfuel have a maf senaor. Mass Airflow sensor

Where can I use the intake and valve cleaner on that engine I have a dodge grand caravan 3.6 pentastar engine looks about the same.

This is just to clean that MAF sensor or replace it. To actually clean the intake and valves you'd have to see a dealer or something

Anyone know the part number to the pigtail clip that plugs into the map sensor? One of my wires broke off right at the connector and can't splice into it

Chrysler in their infinite wisdom doesn't use MAF sensors.

Huh, I guess I never considered them that. Eh only reason I want to replace is because my current Chrysler ( Town and Country) has 300,000 on it. But I don't doubt ya, they can be pesky.
So the V6 Journey has a MAP and not a MAF, correct?
Yes. That is correct. For whatever reason in their infinite wisdom Chrysler doesn't use a MAF

Acceleration, possibly.
Stalling when hitting the brake, it's likely the transmission

@@adventureoflinkmk2 shit man I'll tell you if it isn't one thing it's another, I'm already 10k upside down on this because I had a 2007 hybrid Tahoe and the entire hybrid system went out , was quoted 8k to fix, so I traded for this , smh is the torque converter hard to fix? Is that require a whole new transmission?
@@caylee3277 yes unfortunately you'll end up having to get another transmission
