I Fixed The Ritualist Class In Remnant 2...Sort of (Red Prince Status Build)

  • This build takes the major flaw of ritualist and tries to minimize it as much as possible. Currently, status damage is a bit wonky as it needs to be reworked after the DLC. However, this does not make Ritualist bad for status builds. In fact, you can still have a lot of fun deleting about 10 enemies at once with the most impressive skill ever. And bosses like Venom are often easier to take down when you don't have to focus on gun damage all the time. This run I completed from start to finish pricing that Ritualist is still the best even in its nerfed state. Wait until it's fixed and we will be in for a treat.
    Remnant 2 is a direct sequel to the Remnant From The Ashes Game that came out a few years ago. It appears to take place further in the future with root corrupting the jungle area almost completely, and Ford being an old man. The game will have 3 player coop with brand new worlds to explore and plenty of weapons to try out. Already we have seen at least 5 massive bosses and items such as a pistol, barrel shotgun, saw blade, and best of all a bow. This game will be coming out sometime in 2023 and it will have branching quest lines, augments, crafting, and plenty of loot rewards. The first game was an absolute blast and this sequel is shaping up to be an excellent addition to the series.

    For some reason the comments on this video just make no sense. So here is my general answer. Yes, DoTs are broken on ritualist, yes that was the point of the video (people still commented on it somehow). Is the damage OP in this video? No but you can't compare everything to Firestorm and broken builds. Challengers trait does have some leeway so you can take points out of it if you want, but I prefer to have full traits whenever possible. It doesnt' really matter much. Red Ring of Death does not work how people think it does from what I have experienced. Yes it is amazing, but if you are using multiple stacks of all elements like you can with Miasma and another gun, it actually decreases your damage overall with DOTs. It again, like anything in this game is perfectly fine to run if you want. You can beat Remnant 2 with stupid builds like relic only that I have done before so be as creative as you want. Also, someone recommended Defrag as a mod, which adds nothing to this build and is easily one of the worst mods in the game just due to other options we have. PLAY THE GAME HOWEVER YOU WANT, end of story. Thanks all.

    If you put ritualist as the primary archetype, shooting any random mob outside in Nerud will very quickly summon the entire planet because of the status spreading effect. It's actually pretty sweet for corrupted shard farming.

    There is a amulet that makes status damage explode for 20% total damage applied. So increase duration and damage of status and the amulet will proc and kill everything in the AOE of the ritualist main perk. Theeeeeennnnn grab the AoE trait and the the tainted blade on the huntress spear and the harmonizer on the nebula and twisting wounds on any high fire rate gun. And youll kill everything in the room/area. 22.5m is the limit i could get to. And the ability for some reason requires line of sight and sometime the "terror" debuff stops ot from procing the explosions on the enemys to close to the first mob. So basic theory on the build is spear 1st mob it explodes for like 1200 damage + what ever other status effects youve added to the mix. Then it dies spreading the status to the surrounding mobs, detonating them for around 1000 cause of the drop off from spread. But if it doesnt kill on contact most are three seconds away from dying any way. (Thats apocalypse difficulty) There are two rings that really buff the damage, one increases status duration And the other applies double procs of status. Make damage ive gotten it to is 8000 from one instance of corrosion. But theres also a 5k one and a bleed one for 4k. Testing on a dumb at spawn 1 spear to a weak spot reaults in 11.6k after full duration. I dont know the names of everything but you should be able to figure it out. Oh also works well agaisnt bosses. Cause they are constantly dying amd every 5s i can hit them and cause another chunk damage proc. Its not the fastest dps for sure but its a great on the go build that room clears and add kills so easy. On anything but apocalypse the bosses are way to easy with this build and you only have to worry with dodging damage and aiming a good spear throw every so often.

    The biggest problem I've had with running Ritualist (and this might be specific to the PS5) is that in some areas such as the Fae castle it causes major framerate drops and occasionally a hard crash of the game. I suspect that it might have something to do with the status effects also procing on objects in the environment such as breakable items.

      prob just a limitation of of ps5 and some needed optimization in the game, so much happening at once and causing a bottleneck in performance.

      @@blitz82 Yes, I think it is likely something along those lines as well. Fortunately it is mostly just an issue on some of the Fae castle maps, other areas might slow down but haven't crashed on me yet.
      Hopefully a patch will resolve it soon.

    I'm not at home to check but I'm pretty sure it only takes 3 points in Strong Back to run the complete Crimson Guard armor set, leaving you 7 trait points to experiment with.

    Man, I had no idea. I have my build set up to keep the uptime on status's as long as possible. I don't really understand though. Does it give diminishing damage over time or something? Or does it start out with lower numbers if there's been a long timer applied? I've never paid attention. Is this an intended feature or is there a fix coming?

    Feels like ritualistic works better like a priming build in warframe. Using the status effects not for the actual damage over time but for a damage buff for your weapons or other abilities

    With the stone of malevolence ring you dont really need 10 spirit for mod regeneration since it will fill quickly with the dots of miasma. Also I use the amulet chains of amplification that gives 20% to all dmg when enemies suffers status effects since I don't have the one you say.

      Chains will work well if you don't have the sinister totem.

      I use the energized coil thing from Labyrinth. 25% more status dmg, and reduces duration by 65%

      Stone of Malevolence should have been either the Singed Ring or Burden of the Destroyer anyway.

      ​@@MrAlek1988that's the Band of the Fanatic, which is a ring described in the video. Energized Coil gives +25% status effect damage, and creates explosions every 5 seconds per enemy inflicted or refreshed.

      ​@@Just-Call-Me-Kaminaricorrect, i mixed the two 🤣 i would say that coil is better for map clearing though, and totem for bosses as it takes a bit of time to build up those stacks, unless the debuff spreading on all mobs goes with the neck. I have sinister totem as well, so i will check it out

    Hello. How about using (Energized Neck Coil) instead of (Sinister Totem) since it gives 25% Status Effect Damage right away?

      Ya either amulet is good. Mostly personal preference. The sinister totem is better if you are able to constantly apply statuses like we can here. But energized is better if it takes a while to get elements applied. Since we have stone of malevolence Sinister is very easily kept up and sparkfire helps with that as well.

      I actually enjoy energized neck coil for killing mobs and sinister totem for melting bosses.

      ^ ​@@nmiloslavich^ This comment needs more praise. Sinister Totem is only truly effective against enemies with enough health to have status effects applied more than 30 times. Chains or Energized are better at everything else.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you need all those points in the strong back trait. For that armor set, I believe you only need 2 points in it to stay in the medium weight class.

    I started using the ring that doubles a "status proc" and found it kept duplicating whatever my mutator was, since i was only using status builds and no crit i decided to remove the bleed mutator infavor of the corrosive one and doubled down with the corrosive shot mod, and used the bonus corrosive amulet/ring. "prob can replace amulet" but now when i shoot i get 3 big corrosive numbers at once continually procing also w/ same shotgun. not sure how it stacks against other builds but i feel i kill bosses reallllly fast. maybe you could look into that and let me know what u think

      Ya The red ring of death is very powerful if your able to single down on a specific status. I have seen a few people do pretty interesting and powerful builds with it so far. With look into it myself 👍.

      The red ring of death is actually probably one of the strongest status rings in the game now, I'd say it's just as essential as ahanae.

    Also what do you mean by the longer the Element is active, the less damage it does? But you keep on refreshing your stacks? So what is the diffs between 90s of each element active vs refreshing 15seconds over and over? My Status damage actually goes up. When you equip a gear it tells you "Burns for 100 damage over 15 seconds". Equip gear to increase the burn time it now says "Burns for 600 damage over 90 seconds". Or am I not understanding you correctly?

      He doesn't know how the mechanics actually work. You are correct. The damage doesn't change at all no matter the duration and I'm currently playtesting this with my Pyro Build and my Miasma build.

      @@Just-Call-Me-Kaminari Yeah like I don't get it at all. My stats go up the more I increase my duration. It even shows me before I equip the item how much more damage and how much more time is added. It even calculates it for you befor you equip an item.

    Do you know which setup is better for sparkfire shotgun? Corrosive Rounds + Twisting wounds or Overflow + Fetid wounds?

      Almost always corrosive rounds and twisting wounds. This is because krell axe easily applies shock and has stormbringer as the mutator to further buff the damage. If you are not going for all the statuses, then it would still be the same answer probably as the damage increase is higher without Overflow. Although the difference is probably not all that big in the grand scheme of things.

      Bleed is strong especially on your primary, so I always go corrosive rounds and twisting wounds. I don't use the krell axe as much, I use enigma with fetid wounds to help stack corrosive and its got alot better ease of use, if you don't play on pc. You can get about 3500 dps with that and still have some tankiness if you build right.

      Not sure if it is just a bug or not but I run overflow and fetid wounds on the sparkfire shotgun with tainted blade on worlds edge and twisted wounds on my Tech 22. It does a double stack of corrosive since fetid does corrosive damage meanwhile tainted does Acid damage (again I understand they are both under the Corroded debuff). Then again I haven't played in a week so im not sure if it was patched or if it was left in intentionally.

    Why everyone running Tranquil Heart? Is it because of passive regen? What happens if you have like 10 Health left and you want to heal, then you just can't because it only doubles your Healing over time?

    Red Ring of death would give you about an 80% damage increase. (Reduces status damage by 10% BUT applies 2 stacks, 90% x 2 =180% right?) Plus it would stack your Sinister totem faster.

      The general consensus we came to when testing is that red ring of death is for running one or two status effects. Heck even three isn't that bad. But when running every status effect the 10% is spread to every status your dealing resulting it a pretty high decrease in damage. And unfortunately when running sparkfire the burning is always double proced which it deals the least damage of the statuses (from the shotgun specifically.) So Red ring of death is a no go on this one. However I did notice that red ring of death made krell axe apply some very strong shock. Plenty of room to play there.

      @latenightcynic3582 It basically double applies the last status you deal. Which technically means every time you apply a new status it would double that. Except when running the shotgun the way we are you are procing three statuses at a single time. And I think only one of them is doubled. So here are the scenarios I tested.
      Shotgun with corrosion active: Doubles only corrosion
      Shotgun no mod active: doubles burning only
      Miasma: Doubles burning only
      Now another thing is that when a status is doubled it won't let you double a different status until the first two wear off. Like if you set corrosion it doubles it, but then Krell axe won't double shock while corrosion is active. So its a much more confusing ring that it looks like originally. Basically, it is much better when running a single status as you increase its damage by a lot. And can easily keep the douple effect going if that makes sense.

    Isn't it smarter to run just 2 skill points into Strong back? It's still enough to run the same armor setup in the medium category, however, you could instead take 8 into handling so the sparkfire shotgun doesn't have as much spread.

      Ya you can do that. I don't enjoy having my points spread out and not into full traits if I can help it for OCD reasons. But ya its not important to have it all in strongback.

      Ya you can run any relic really, optimal one would be tranquil in my mind, but resonating is never bad or void heart maybe even salvaged.

    Would probably suggest Eruption and use Handler over Medic.
    Dog bleed registers as a unique debuff for Eruption allowing it to hit 2k (2.2k with Attack Dog active) which is more than Miasma will ever do. While also refreshing DoT and nuking every enemy nearby by simply debuffing one. Trade in some DoT damage while enabling skill damage to be good (and you'll have Attack Dog for self-buffing)

    Elemental Resist Bosses are the reason i stopped playing status builds.
    Dont get me wrong i really like damage over time builds but when there is a specific affix to bosses that gimps this playstyle its neither op nor fun.

      Its tough, because elemental resist specifically really does nerf the damage by a noticeable amount. Usually I would say fine push through expect if they are also paired with empathy or regenerator. That leads to a much longer fight even still. I think the biggest advantage to status even with some of its issues is low effort. I noticed Venom specifically is very easy to deal with when running status as you can better focus on his moves. Switching to a different build if they have elemental resist is not a bad idea though. Heck in a perfect run you would probably switch builds every boss to counter the affixes they have in place.

    Take ritualist off and the dots do even more damage. Dots are currently broken with how extending their durations work.

      A build does not need to be better than another build to be good. If that were the case then why not only run Deceit with max weakspot for everything. There are many items in the game so people will experiment and create unique builds. No reason to complain about someone making on you don't like.

    I cringe at ppl not understanding Defrag rounds are in the game, technically if you proc Miasma, you get 20% extra dmg, BUT! Defrag round has it own debuff for that extra 5%, making it 25% and if the boss fight has Ad’s you kill one, it’ll drop a orb for 20% more dmg on top of that. That’s 1 ring, 1 mod, and 1 skill for easy dmg buff, the rest can really be whatever you want. Personally Band of Fanatic wouldn’t be my go to, I prefer doing dps myself not off DoT.
