    Omg wow. I used a similar formula and made sure to mix gold with ash. It come out perfect. Thanks for the tip. Before I would always use just ash and it came out too dark or no dimension. I am a neutral skin tone and adding the gold and gold beige to ash really helps.

    Just speaking from experience you're on track when you spray the hair down before applying the darker color just remember that water alone is on the alkaline side and it may be better to have a leave-in conditioner in a separate spray bottle for this purpose. I love watching you work and listening to your thought process, LOL sounds exactly like mine throughout the years! Keep up the good work girl!

      Another great tip I've learned throughout the years is to use your Ash tones and instead of mixing several pre Blended colors try using the additives particularly yellow, green, and violet.

    Would you say the dark brown chocolate is similar to a 5NW? Btw this is amazing 😻 I always am so scared I don’t put in a enough foils in a color like this but this turned out perfect so I think I’ll try it like this next time I don’t have a lot of time.

    “jus don’t actually be a crackhead” 😆
    this woman cracks me up thruout the video
    i really miss watching my instructor do foils. i enjoy watching different people do em , but also, i’m here because my natural hair color is sandy brown with a green tint under the sun and led uv lights lol. so there’s a lot of blonde goin on, but also i colored my hair dark brown like a level 2 (my naturalhairs a 5) …. i can never get extensions to blend with color but my cuts are awesome. you could say my hair is a mushroom brown , so i’m here for ideas cause i usually lift my hair tips to match lighter extension colors (like red and honey blonde ) or i color everything darker. i may have to try these baby lights , i be been “bleach bathing” my wefts because i suck at doing em dry. the wefts are orange righ now what do i do 😭

      You just have to make sure you get extremely light lift. Also not all toner formulations work 100% for every client . Not everyone lifts the same or has the same warmth in their hair.

    • @hairbykristijennings6648
      @hairbykristijennings6648  2 года назад +3

      Yes but you need to add some natural so it doesn't grab blue/ grey/ green

    • @o01150
      @o01150 2 года назад

      @@hairbykristijennings6648 thank you so much Kristi. I will do - I was thinking of adding just a quarter or half of the charcoal grey just to make extra sure there was no brassiness. In terms of adding a natural colour - I have natural brown and a beige blonde dye - which one would work best?

    • @hairbykristijennings6648
      @hairbykristijennings6648  2 года назад

      I free pour and don't measure exact amounts that why I explain what I'm using and why...... also, people then msg me that "I mixed exactly what you said and my hair turned green / dark/ brassy/ etc...." I can tell you what the formulation is but maybe this client needs more ash than your client, or more warmth..... so you can take the color formulation I use but adjust it to what your clients need cause it's not the same for everyone.

    • @hairbykristijennings6648
      @hairbykristijennings6648  2 года назад

      Also, activator gel is always equal amounts of toner. So 1:1

      I agree about how uncomfortable that is !!! And to the person who said what are they suppose to look at the ceiling…. No - but it’s too much to have a client watch you do everything ; from even scratching your eyebrow…. It is uncomfortable. I don’t follow the dentist and doctor around with my eyes like that - the only exception would be ; they are a cosmetology student and they are trying to pick up certain things to help them with what they are striving to do- other than that it looks like there’s a lack of trust…

      What better way to learn to tell your stylist EXACTLY what you want then to Watch watch watch and take notes notes notes.
      We can't expect our stylist to remember every single clients wishes and what worked and what didn't.....
      By watching and learning yourself you can save your stylists' precious time and that unfortunate unsatisfactory result from not being on the same page.

      Everyone has a preference. She wanted it super ashy. Also because her hair naturally being so dark, it’s better to go even ashier because it won’t take long before the ash starts fading.
