Same! I’m over paying a fortune to get my hair colored & it doesn’t even seem to last! It seems like the cost is steadily going up too! I’m going to try the Sally’s ion
A helpful tip from a stylist- most box dyes come with 40 volume developer, which will give maximum lift which could give you hot roots, you’re only gonna need 40 volume if you have a dark natural root and you’re trying to get a much lighter and brighter colour. try to look for a box dye with 20 volume developer, or even 10 if you’re putting a darker colour than your natural. Ladies with grey stick with 20 volume for maximum grey coverage!
Good information thank you. It is becoming increasingly difficult to know how to color my hair at home as the silver and white hairs grow in heavier around ears than in other areas of my head
@@lauralee7938 Does it really work? I have thick long dark brown hair so I usually use 2 or 3 boxes of dye...my poor white shower floor suffers greatly. I heard Bar Keepers Friend does wonders...I'll give it a try.

I did this two weeks ago. I used to dye it often and quit for 10 years. Everyone was thrilled with my hair color. It's easy to do but it takes some time, especially if u r already grey.
I've been coloring my hair at home for years. All of the hairdressers I've seen during that time have said what a great job I do. Yes, even me. You can do it too!
That's what I'm so afraid of! I have 3 boxes waiting for me to use them on my super long, spotchy grey used to be natural auburn but now grey and mousy brown hair! I don't know why I'm so nervous about doing it by myself. But I totally am!!! Lol
Cold water helps the dye stick to the hair 😊 using warm or hot water will make the dye lift from your hair and make the color fade so much more quickly.
LMAO!! And don't they act like we're endangering their chances of getting a man card?!! So glad I'm not the only mama getting the big sigh when enlisting a teenage son's help with hair color! 😂🥰
Wow. Your video inspired. Thanks for making easy. I am going to get some products for doing myself but I need some recommendations about what if you want to " kill the Cooper color" from an old color?😳 I don't want to look like a Chipmunk...
It tuned out very nice. I have been doing my own hair for 15 years. All roots are gray. I never use an application bottle. I feel there is more control with a brush. I did like her tip about using a toothbrush to do the hairline.
Someone asks, "What's wrong with coloring hair?" Nothing. Nothing is wrong with it. But on a man who's starting to grey I have a double standard. I wouldn't color it a darker than normal color. I used to do mine in the winter when I'd grow it out. But someone mixed up the chemicals and all the lighter colors were just as dark as the darkest. Their quality control was terrible. So that last time was the last time. Now I never color it. I just keep it cut off. Some guys prefer to just shave their heads. I just do a no guard all over. So yeah there's that double standard for men..I admit it. I'm not sure why they're asking irrelevant questions. It's like do I like honey nut Cheerios or Rice Krispies. Both. But who cares, I'm not making a religion out of it.
I got my first grey hair at 17. Now my son is 17 and is also going grey and balding. It's sad. I am 41 now and am completely white. Completely... I have always dyed my own hair. If I don't keep the dye in for at least 35 mins it doesn't cover it
Thank you, Ms. Greta! I always end up staining my skin along the hairline. A TOOTHBRUSH!! VICTORY IS MINE!!! BTW, I always enjoy watching you on The View too! Take care and stay safe! Sonia Hernandez

I pay $40 now. It was $30, in 2022. Just for root coverage. No blow drying included.
@bmrpink59 I wish to pay $40. Here, they charge you $130 full hair.

I seem to use the rest of the dye all over my hair. I can’t seem to just only do the roots.
Love the toothbrush tip. I'm definitely going to do that. Question - Why do you rinse in cold water?
It keeps your color from bleeding out when you wash it cause hot water will make it bleed and it also helps with shine.

If you don't have anyone who could help you for back sections, ask your pet to do this it's that so easy.😂
Good. All i need now is the 2nd person to do the back
Should't you comb it through the hair be4 rinsing?

@Rachel, does hair dye stain the sink when rinsing it out?

What color do you dye your hair?
Why are people covering grey hair like it’s something to be ashamed of? I want more grey!
Uh because people like their colour. Its not always about hating grey or being ashamed of it
To each their own 👍
Very useful
Ok, why didn’t we get to see all of her hair? Just like a three second shot of her roots?

Why not shake the bottle before you clip the tip off lol

You separate the hair in parts
What do you do if you don’t have someone to do back?
So don't do it yourself, got it
Thanks for not showing how much to use. No good!
Hair conditioner is a barrier too
Very descriptive and you are very beautiful
This only shows how to do roots only
4:20 was the best part. She stole the show.
A tooth brush, Genius!!
What do you do if you don’t have someone to do back?
Get a boyfriend online. Instead of having him pay for your dinner, have him dye the back of your hair.
Uhm how do I keep the hair dye on? I've dyed my hair and didn't wash it for three days, and when I did (with cold or warm water) it faded alot
depends on what kind of dye u use and how long u let it stay on ur head
@@cumgargler7654 it's permanent and I let it sit for 30-40 minutes
Do you have light or dark hair?
Use shampoo that says sulfate free
