    I wish this example was against almost any other hero. Butcher is a shit solo laner against everyone early. Would be more beneficial to learn from a game where you're gonna be fighting a real solo laner. Still great video. Thanks!

      @andy02q 4 года назад +1

      I had 1 game same map same matchup were Butch actually gave me bit of a hard time. I guess it was mainly b/c all other 8 players stayed bot and my team still never got the point for long, but also because Butch rotated Mid/Top all the time soaking 2 lanes (and ignoring top point) where I felt he could rotate faster, because if he would've caught me during rotation Top-Mid he might've killed me, so I checked every bush while he just mounted and walked straight over.

    • @Yorekani
      @Yorekani 4 года назад +1

      @@andy02q I think you played that too safe. If he charges you, you peel him off with Stun+Slow. If Misha is trailing behind too much, which she shouldn't if you want to rotate safely, then you Slow first and then stun. Either way, Butcher without 200+ Meat shouldn't be able to kill you and once you're out of melee range, you can shave off his HP to make the even out the trade or even come out with favor. The way you achieve that is by commanding Misha to stun right before Butcher's impact, which interrupts his follow up damage. The charge itself doesn't deal much damage, especially before lvl 13. Butcher also can't reliably heal in your lane as long as you can keep Misha moving, because Butcher will take damage from you while chasing Misha, so leeching off of her 1~2 times won't be enough. Conversely, if he leeches off of minions, you can punish that with ranged attacks, or even Misha attacks, because his brand is on cooldown now.
      Heroes who can only deal damage in melee range are unlikely to trade well against a player who has good control over the Rexxar+Misha combo. Thrall, for example, can hold the lane against him because his trait will keep him healthy, but Thrall's dive doesn't hit quick enough to get a kill on Rexxar while Misha can always be pulled back after tanking a few hits.

    I like putting misha's movement (D) on quick cast so that you can spam her movement the same way you'd spam your own movement without it being click chaos also the Rexxar flank is almost as OP as his ability to hold the solo lane. unleash the boars or your Q has a nasty slow that practically guarantees the misha stun unless they have some piece of utility to stop it. Also Misha moves toward you faster if you press D on yourself 140% instead of just 115% move speed which is useful if you are trying to get Misha to peel for you or if you just want her to catch up to you as you are flanking or doing whatever.

    Great video, just wanted to point out that 15 armor actually increases your effective HP by around 18%

  • @fahbs
    @fahbs Год назад

    Minor nitpick. Armor does not proportionately increase your effective health 1:1. At 15 armor, you're at roughly 17% extra health because it will take that much more damage to kill you. It exponentially reduces damage taken as it gets higher (at 50 armor, you have 100% extrabhealth; at 100 armor, you're immortal).
    On top of that, armor also increases all healing received by the same amount. It also does not contribute to damage taken from % health attacks the way that straight health bonuses would.
    So it ends up being more than a proportionate flat health increase.

    3 times more regen is not "huge" because regen is not a huge mechanic in first place unless you play murky.

      I really disagree with that statement waveclear is so valueable even though Rexxar can still get value out of freezing the lane too. Because you can threat the enemy team with losing soak, can you can rotate sooner, and destroy enemy vision sources quicker.

    • @Yorekani
      @Yorekani 4 года назад

      @@curtisw0234 I think a lot of lower ranked players (or players relying more on their micro than their macro) just value waveclear speed less. For non-sololaners, they're happy as long as they can kill the wave within 30 seconds, because that's when the next one shows up. Conversely, for sololaners, they're probably happy as long as they can doublesoak the lane somehow, if they're playing sololaners. I assume players who tend to play that role more often are also more likely to evaluate talents helping with sololaning higher.
      Maybe it has to do with experience. Once you've played against a Malthael who can outpace almost anyone when it comes to doublesoaking, you'll probably assign more value to shaving off extra seconds when it comes to waveclear and rotations. For the record, Probius is the one hero I can think of which probably won't be outpaced by Malthael, but a (nanoboosted) Probius is generally less of a threat than a (nanoboosted) Mathael during teamfights. So there are tradeoffs, as usual.

      He's good on all maps. He's just better on maps that allow him to dominate in a solo lane for a long period of time because very few heroes can fight off a Rexxar. Drsgon shore and Braxxis holdout are basically his maps where he excels the most at. But he is still very strong on:
      Hanamura
      volskaya
      Sky temple
      Tomb of the spider queen
      Cursed Hollow
      While being average on the other maps. He's viable on every map. Rexxar is a hero where mechanical skill really does determine how much value he can bring. There are times you should avoid picking him, but even through sheer mechanical skill you could technically overcome these obstacles.
      If anything you ought to worry about Rexxar, it isn't which maps he is he good on, but what are their draft picks and how do they counter me in the long run.
      For instance, if you're playing on cursed hollow and the enemy team already has a Zul Jin, considering the fact the objective is very team dependant, it's not ideal to pick Rexxar in this situation. On the other hand though, there are 2 bosses on this map and lots of camps, so Rexxar could prove to be a formidable ally for this. What to do? How you can adapt your playstyle will determine how viable he is.

    As a rexxar player on dragon shire I dislike you for doing this guide. I am only diamond 4 with Rexxar around 80%>
    It is really free win, I am surprised hardly anyone ever ban Rexxar on DS and I always first pick him on that map, opening myself up for counters but only really was losing lane twice to Single hero.
    1. Kerri with her double Q jumps
    2. Malfurion, yes. Specced for roots build, (4th lvl E' talent with extra DMG when treant spawns + 7th level E' talent reset cd on roots when stunned). He stacked his treant DMG using E on Misha and get second E treant from Misha stun. Can repeat it every 10 s while just holding point, after 2 mins stacking his treant eats your Misha with np.

    although the enemy comp wasn't really well set up in terms of characters and macro, nice video!!
    I tried the Q build a lot of times, but I still W build is really by far superior.
    To get the max value out of Q build you also need Misha to constantly attack to prolong the AS duration, which in some way contradicts your statement about not using Misha so much. Also if someone is not a good Rexxar player is difficult to stutter step/control misha/attack all at the same time, giving no create value to Q build except for 2 more AA during the time buff. (that can also be seen in your video)
    On the contrary, W build really shines because the 7 and 13 talents really sinergyes together. CD on W reduce to 5/7 seconds (depending on how good you are to keep misha alive and attacking), HUGE damage on W, and AOE damage (something Q build does not have). Also apart from solo laning, late game one of the main role for rexxar is basically to zone with misha or set up kill with team. for this simple reason, a stun which provides HUGE AOE burst, and lets you get 1/2 kills immediately ends the fight in your favor. I want to mention also that the stack of W at 13 don't disappear, meaning that you can easily accumulate them not only during fights, but also randomly killing minions/mercs inbetween fights.
    Honorable mention to the fact that W build is really helpful in clearing mercs MUCH faster, while Q doesn't provide any benefit on that regard.

    3 words.. Kerrigan, Illidan, Chen... Or, just dont focus obj early.. Take a mobile assassin with good waveclear for solo (like maiev)... clear lane then gank bot.. then repeat.. or take any solo laner with reliable cc.. and tell your team to gank Rexxar from time to time...

    • @Yorekani
      @Yorekani 4 года назад +2

      Illidan *really* doesn't have enough damage to kill Rexxar early. Battered Assault may sound like a good idea, but a decent Rexxar player shouldn't have a hard time denying an Illidan those proc's in the sololane. I don't think Kerrigan gets the kill in a 1v1 either. Against a Rexxar of similar or worse skill, she probably takes less damage than him on each engage, so she should be able to force him back to base more often, which lets her recapture the point in the meantime.
      I would say Chen is favored in a general sololane matchup, because he can mitigate a lot of the damage he takes during the dive through Stagger, which lets him bully Rexxar with relatively little commitment of his own. On Braxis Holdout and Dragon Shire, however, one needs to trade favorably against Rexxar to make up for the fact that he can do two things at once. You need to buy those extra seconds to take back the point with favorable trades each time. For that reason, I'd say their matchup is relatively even on those maps. At the lower end of the MMR spectrum, Chen is definitely favored because players love to fight for no reason. At the very high end of the MMR spectrum (GM, Master) Rexxar is probably favored on those two maps, because players at that level should know how to freeze lanes and deny exp much more reliably. It's hard to deny exp from a Rexxar who can send Misha forward, while Rexxar wins the point if he manages to freeze the lane near his towers instead.

      @@Yorekani Illidan definitely can't kill Rexxar (or any other solo laner) but with Illidan you can prema hold point of DS. Lvl1 immolation, lvl 4 Increased Q range..
      When Misha goes to point jump to her over wall, dmg and heal.. then jump back.. if u time Evasion each time just before Rexxar stun, there is nothing he can do to Illidan.. if you are very good with Illidan, you can even completely scare him off and make him even lose soak..
      Kerrigan till lvl 4 cant do much.. as you said, best she can do is trade 100hp better..
      But after lvl 4 with W stacks.. she kills Rexx in 1 stun.. only problem is hitting the stun..
      Chen is imo the best solo laner in game currently.. I play him usually with Secret stormstout recipe which I make myself in base at lvl 1 :)
      You basically outheal everything vs anyone..
      Till lvl 4 it may be hard to kill Rexxar, after lvl 4 is faceroll with bonus Q dmg. At lvl 7 u can kill him each time u see him even by diving turrets/fort cuz of Evasion

Using it on every wave would run you dry pretty quickly, though. That is worth if, if it meant you denied exp every time. It's not worth it if it only led to a bit more damage to their wall.
