    I love the concept of a character that's seen as a sort of berserker hold back until no one expects it anymore. There's a lot of narrative tension if his enemies are expecting him to let loose, even trying to provoke him and failing, then once they're out of options, only then does he truly unleash his fury.

    Personally, although my winrate isnt the best, as a level47 Zul'Jin i tend to find that each talent in each teir depends on what you are fighting. Also don't be afraid to use the extra ability! It takes half of your current health yea, but it heals it back as well! So just position accordingly. Headhunter is better vs teams that tend to be range heavy, just remember you need some dive from your team to help finish the quest but the extra increased range makes it incredibly rewarding for the later parts of the game, especially with things like Eye of Zul'Jin. Recklessness is my personal choice of a talent when the enemy team runs dive but maybe isn't all tanks/bruisers so my AAs will be hitting decently anyway. The mindset with this talent is that if they want to engage they will and having increased damage while taking part in the fight will benefit you greatly as you stack your AA (and maybe W damage since Recklessness increases spell damage as well :D). Boneslicer is as Paradox stated, the beefy bois talent. Pairing Boneslicer with Grevious Throw to have a much larger uptime on increased damage (Even further by Grevious Throw and Boneslicer) is always great as some healers won't be able to keep up with the damage being put out. Level 4 follows the same mindset, if they can just engage as they please, either Voodoo Shuffle or Amani Hide, if the enemy team is more combo orientated and less likely to roam alone or perhaps your healer just needs some extra help keeping the team alive Troll's Blood is a great choice. I personally always pick it when stacking W damage as the full cast allows me to get mana back as well (although not enough to neglect wells!). Level 7 follows my talent choice at Level 1, although in some cases you may find more value weaving talents together such as Headhunter and Ferocity for range and speed. I dig Arcanite Axes on maps like Volskya, Sky Temple, or Cursed hollow where teams tend to stick together more often. Taz'Dingo at Level 10 will always being a shining star and the upgrade at 20 makes no exception, however some games may be able to call for Guillotine, as an example maybe you have drafted 3 front lines a healer and yourself. Ideally in this case the frontliners can handle finishing kills but having the extra range and damage from Guillotine (Remember that the lower your health the more damage you do, so press 1 unless being attacked!) is usually a welcome addition from an experienced player. Level 13 is all about the movement, of yourself or others. Lacerate is a great talent if your opponents tend to clump together like on Volskya or maybe have a healer such as Alexstrasza. Eye of Zul'Jin is the least effort required to gain benefit from the talent, just keep hitting and winning! :D A personal favorite of mine is Ensnare, this can catch someone out of place or open them up to engagement from your team even after a cleanse has been used. Plus, in situations where you can secure a gank, ensnare makes it very tough for an unaware opponent to get away (also works on fleeing opponents as well!) Level 16 is what it comes down to as a tipping point for any build, although arguably every talent works with any build. No Mercy allows you to be able to neglect armor from some characters like Garrosh which makes you a much stronger force in a teamfight, although the talent seems mostly negligible being able to do raw damage is always a welcome advantage. Wrong Place, Wrong Time is similar to Lacerate where it gets huge value versus clumped teams and even more when you realize each hit on the apex increases your quest progress by 5. I pair this with ensnare at times so when hit just right, you get burst damage, slow value, and a root to help you secure a kill. Let the Killing Begin is a monstrous talent in games where you are able to secure kills, especially alongside Eye of Zul'Jin, Ferocity, and Recklessnes. The amount of damage you can output (Especially if you've used your 1 ability and maybe even trait if you feel good about it) is a nightmare for anyone on the recieving end. As far as 20 goes, either you upgrade TD to Amani Resilience or you take Forest Medicene. Buzzsaw has potential team wide damage but resetting your health to full when most of your damage comes from stacking and being lower than full seems a bit counterproductive. If you're relying on it to heal you, then you may be playing the fights a bit unintended. Those are my thoughts, nothing to officially follow and you don't have to take my word but I've always felt the potential for this hero was underminded by other heroes and i want to share my passion for the axe troll himself.

    I really don't like this way of wasting Zuljin's poential. When you are never in a low HP state - you are wasting the attack speed - DMG. You never use 1 - you lose consistent value. IMHO - it's not safeplay hero. You wanna play safe - play Reynor. I would not recommend use this hero in that way.

    • @yargolocus4853
      @yargolocus4853 4 года назад +10

      I don't see the problem in playing safe on him. Even with wasted potential, you still outdamage raynor. You also have zuljin exclusive tools such as root removal, armor ignore and boss damage, which have nothing to do with reckless playstyle. His ult is also one of the best tools for anyone, which is often offset by the fact that zuljin is more risky to play. Now, if you DON'T play risky, it should make the ult even better, since it's your true backup plan and not a necessity.

    • @chandlerkeck6361
      @chandlerkeck6361 4 года назад +2

      I think he just isn't super used to the hero and just forgets to use it. The most important thing about Amani hide is to use it in high health. one you don't get much value at low health and it just makes you easier to kill. when I am safe, I use it quite liberally for one, to stack a lot faster early game, and two when I am high health and still want to burst down people. especially when you get the movement speed talent and you are chasing people is also a good time to use it. For level 20 talents, honestly, they are both good though personally, I like the heroic upgrade because it gets rid of the heroics main weakness and makes it really strong. If other people have different opinions or tips I'd be interested to hear them.

      Always use amani hide when doing camps. In teamfights, I use it when my team is the focus/the enemy can't get to me, either due to cc or my team being in the way.
      At lvl 20, I find that the more one uses amani hide, or wants/needs to be safe, the better forest medicine is. It makes it so that you're always with high hp during a team fight to discourage dives, makes chasing safer, and allows you to 1v1 safer due to you using amani hide for a quick burst of dmg followed by forest medicine to make sure you don't die.

    • @Yorekani
      @Yorekani 4 года назад

      Last I heard, Zuljin's auto attacks are not skillshots. Yes, it's funny how often he misses Grievous Throw (Q) in this match even though it should be much easier to land than Twin Cleave and Guillotine, but it also shows you how it's not *that* important to land it. With these players, it may even help him stack more as they always stay in the fight while they have enough HP remaining, so that extra damage isn't helping you in any way unless it secures a kill, in which case, congratulations, that hero will be back on the field within 15 seconds.
      Either way, if the enemy team gives you that many free stacks in the early game, they'll have a hard time securing and maintaining a lead in the lategame as long as you, the Zul'jin player, keeps playing it safe.

    Hah! My favourite build, but recently suppressed by peer pressure. After playing this build a lot I started practising mage build. Learned new reflexes for mage build and when I came back to Taz’dingo I found myself activating Taz’dingo automatically immediately after rooting an enemy and while still having 50% HP :). My lesson: If you feel uncomfortable looking like an idiot don’t mix builds :). Regarding stacks: They are not as valuable as you portrait them to be. Sure the more the better, but most of the power comes from Q, trait and natural scaling. The difference between 80 stacks and 200 stacks is something like 24 damage points per attack. If you hit way over 400 late game (with Q and trait), that 24 is not a gamechanger.

      NotParadox sets it as a goalpost for players first trying out his advice. They're free to move the goalpost if they feel confident enough. This is probably a good initial goal when considering that these players are also just starting to learn how to "play safe". You just assume they intuitively know, which isn't always the case. They may just hang back without doing anything and then overcommit when they feel pressured for whatever reason... or their killchasing mentality takes over again because they stopped thinking.
      Long story short, NotParadox is trying to give advice to players which they can apply right now, in their next match and probably see good results, even if they won't necessarily win the match. A lot of low rank players don't (want to) know what they should be doing and start blaming whoever doesn't seem to be dealing enough hero damage if the match isn't proceeding the way they want. Match statistics are nice, but don't tell the whole story. Anyway, this is why a clear and easy goal to start with is important. 75 stacks by level 10 should be doable with Silver MMR.

      It's also easier to use in order to kill enemies. 'cause you don't need to land anything to damage more your opponent, especially when you fail almost all the time the Q spell. However, the Q spell talent seems stronger against the buildings. But, I prefer Headhunter anyway.

      I mean i had 48 wins and 14 losses with Raynor last seasonin storm league. I just hit the hero that is closest to me and focus on stutter stepping and dodging skillshots. I don't care much about who i hit. My point is: "Hit and don't get hit." So 80% of my auto attacks go into tank. When we are in big numerical advantage like 5v3 then it's possible to focus healer without being peeled. I don' t play Zul' jin, but i am sure that he should played in a similar way.

      @@yargolocus4853 Having a history of playing together regularly or semi-regularly implies a coordination in their behaviour, as they know what the other members of their team are likely to do or not to do. Therefore, they are a coordinated team. Coordination does entail more than voice chat. A common experience in playing the game is more important that outside communication, as is evident by observing non-esports such as football (or soccer for the US) where verbal communication is not always feasible due to distance and the overall volume during a match (fans and their "trumpet toys"). Yet they manage to perform a coherent strategy throughout the game. How do they do that? By practicing together, aka playing together. So yes, they are a coordinated team and claiming that Zul'jin was the main factor driving this game is therefore a broad assumption.
