Out of no where, last weekend, I bought one locally for $260. Didn’t needed or wanted it, but was so cheap, couldn’t resist it. Now a few days later, it makes me feel to sell the x-h1. This thing is really good and with the newer Fuji f2/2.8 primes, AF speed is not even an issue. I only shoot stills though, i don’t care about video.
That's a great deal! It sounds a bit like my situation. I just couldn't pass it up. My X-H1 does a good job for video projects for me so I'm good with the fact the X-T1 isn't a video star. And I'm using a lot of manual focus lenses, so like you said AF speed is no big deal.
Absolutely still worth! I bought my XT1 two years ago for 450€ in a very good conditiom, 2nd hand with 1 Year guarantee from the photo store. I love this camera! It is my first mirrorless and it is superb. Then later I bought the 18-55mm 2.8-4 OIS and since last year it is mine all-around combo, I use them more than use my NIKON D750 and all lenses. Also I bought couple adapters so I can use the camera with two Canon FD lenses and the current lenses for my Nikon and I am more than happy. I have been thinking about to replace it by buying the new X-T200 due the tilting screen and video quality, and because I have found it for less than 500€ (included 15-45 lens) but truly the XT1's IQ, sensor and water/dust sealed for me are very important. Greetings from Germany!
That's awesome! I'm really happy I came across the copy of the X-T1 that I did. I understand the temptation of the X-T200. I'm with you about the X-T1 IQ, build quality, etc. Right now I have the X-T1 and an X-H1. I want to try one of the X-Pro cameras. I'll probably wait until sometime in 2021 to try one of those out. I'm pretty happy with what I have now. Thank you for watching and commenting! I hope you are safe and well in Germany! :)
I bought the X-E2 first and love it. The X-T1 with same sensor and processor just made sense. I love it. My only two naggy things are 1. the drive selector moves when I change ISO. Fix - be more careful and check after switching ISO. 2. Buttons are low profile. I use the focus assist button with vintage lenses. It's hard for my thumb to find the button. Fix - I added a pad of thin weather stripping to beef it up a bit. It's just how I want it now. It will stay with me for a long time. Great video. Thanks.
Great points Jaime, I feel the same way about those 2 things that were nagging you. I love your weather stripping suggestion. I might have to give that a shot. Yeah, I really dig this camera and am happy I bought it. I keep looking for other X-T1s even though I do not need another one. lol Thank you for watching and commenting! It really is appreciated.
Same. I have the X-E2s and wanted a second camera to have a backup and wanted one that's weather sealed, so a second hand X-T1 in 2019 was the cheapest and most logical option. It arrived in perfect condition too :-).
I switched from Nikon to Fuji, and received my X-T1 yesterday. I’m waiting on my lenses. I have not shot with it yet, but I’m happy that I got a practically NEW example from Japan. It probably was an in store display model. It even has the hot shoe cover!
Wow! Congrats! That's a fantastic find. I hope it works out well for you. As I expressed in this video I was pleasantly surprised by the X-T1 and fell even more in love with it over the next few months. Best of luck with your switch! Let me know how it works out for you. Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
I used to own two X-T1s (black and graphite). Over the years, I went through a number if Fuji X bodies. I found the X-T1 to be very capable and relevant for at least the next 10 years. The EVF, the colours, and the build quality are just high up there. I sold them to try the Sony A7 which I also scored for very cheap (300 EUR including 2 batteries, battery grip, and 2 year warranty). Last Saturday, I just scored the deal of a lifetime. A black X-T1 with less than 100 clicks (pretty much feels brand new too.), XF 18-135mm, a Lowerpro sling bag, and a Nissin i40 off-camera flash for 500 EUR. The owner paid 1800 EUR for the package but he found the dials to be a bit complex for him and he's mainly for videos. I would never sell it. By the way, the body is made of magnesium. p.s. Also scored an X-pro1 with the awesome EF-X20 flash for 200 EUR. I might sell the X-pro1 soon though as three X-bodies is a bit overkill (the 3rd one is a graphite X-pro2).
I had the X-T20 and had to sell it because of the viewfinder. Not because it's smaller or less resolution but because of the annoying colour accuracy. What you see on the EVF is just so different on the LCD display. It's the same as X-E3 so if EVF is important, don't buy it. :)
Wow, you found some amazing deals!! That's great! And thank you for your feedback about the magnesium body, I remember that now. I also appreciate the feedback about the EVFs in the X-T20 and X-E3s!
Bought one NIB yesterday, its the graphite silver edition. I had one in black a few years ago. Now owning xpro2 in black and graphite also, have a X-H1 too. All amazing and professional. 7 lenses. Totally happy.
I like that you mentioned the part about the graphite one versus the black one. I’ve been looking for a graphite one, but can’t seem to find one right now for under four or $500. I think since the Fuji line started to get so trendy now, everybody wants a Fuji camera - especially a cool graphite retro looking one. I’m hoping the hype slows down sometime soon so I can actually afford to get the graphite one instead of the black.
Already have an X-T3 and just picked up a X-T1 for $200+shipping. I shoot a good bit of astro and I want to see the difference that the larger pixels may make. Selling off my canon bodies (5D and 550D) since I just don't use them any longer.
@@CraigBergonzoni i had an issue with the xtrans ii sensor as opposed to my xtrans and bayer in my xe1 and x100. I figured it out though. If skin is over exposed by even a 3rd of a stop it would look strange and it drove me nuts. Indoors if i turn exp down by a 1/3 everything is great. Almost as magical as my xe1 and x100
I have two XT1s and an XH1 and the XT1 still sees more action than the new cameras I have. I have vertical grips on all my cameras as well, and the XT1 with grip is still pretty compact
I get that. There's definitely something about this camera that I'm really drawn to. I need to pick up a battery grip for it. Well I don't "NEED" it but I want one. lol Thanks for watching and for your comment!
Hi Craig I bought myself an xt1 today just waiting now on the post my wife ok with it at the price I paid so happy days 2023 November now thanks again for your videos and advise cant wait to use the camera I have a Sony I use for video this camera will be for stills only and I have a good selection of lenses for it to try out included vintage glass with an adapter
Hey one of the benefits of EV is that when using the EC, what you see is what you get. I have used EC far more than combining all my last Canon camera experiences together.
I've been looking for another camera that really gives that cinematic and film feel. I'm a Sony guy (a6300) never really been big on Canon and nikon. Stumbled upon fujifilm cameras and plus seeing how welcoming their camera community are I was sold. I been looking for a few weeks then boon! I found a x-t1 for $75. I ordered me a manual 35mm 1.7 lens bc I love manual lens. Making that 4hr drive tomorrow for it.
Wow! That’s a great deal. I hope it works out well! I love manual lenses too. I’m actually posting reviews of a couple of Pergear lenses this week. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Just found this video great review, I have 2 X-T1's a X-t2, 3 x XM-1, X70 and a x-t4. I love the look they give from the first X trans sensor to the fourth. I purchased extras of the X-M1 as they will only go up in value and create amazing photos, Early X cameras are a great investment for picture quality and resale value,
Hey Peter! That's a great collection! I agree about those early X-series cameras. They're awesome. I'm always keeping my eye out for great deals on used ones. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hey! I apologize for the late response. If the X-T5 is in your budget then I would get that, especially if fashion editorial is one thing you want to shoot. But if you can't afford the X-T5 right now then this is a fantastic camera to get. You'll be able to create some great work with it. It's still an amazing camera. I hope it all works out for you! Let me know how it goes. Thanks for watching!
I Started shooting mirrorless with fuji XT100 then shifted to fuji XT1, photography was more exciting and satisfying then. Every setting is all accessible in the tip of your fingers without the need to go the menu screen everytime. Nice video btw.
Exactly! I feel the same way. I had a similar journey. The X-T100 was my first taste of the Fuji system. Now I recommend people get a used X-T1 or X-T2 rather than a brand new X-T100 or X-T200. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I absolutely love mine. I use all my Olympus OM manual lenses with it and the focus assist and viewfinder are critical for my dodgy eyes. Thanks for sharing the love :-)
Hi Craig , you mention to try the X-E series , I use the X E2s , with the fujinon 27 mm lens for street photography , has the same processor than the X T1 Really, really light and inconspicuous. The XE 3 has the viewfinder smaller than the E-2 the E4 even smaller is. Big No for me And the E1 some said that produce the nearest looking of the old films .... don't know . But I love it , every time I go to to shoot street.... the xe2 is the tool for me , an other one is the x 100 in any model.
Hello Craig, It's 2023 and I watched your other video on the X-T2 which I was thinking of purchasing but ended purchasing the X-T1 and waiting to receive it. I am a beginner and leaned on your sincere and passionate review of the X-T1 that helped me decide. The X-T1 I purchased comes with the 18-55mm f.2.8 to 4.0 R LM OIS lens. What other budget lens do you recommend for the X-T1? Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
Hey Esteban, well you can't go wrong with any of the lenses from TTartisan - amzn.to/3Sc1LtK But if you want a Fujifilm branded lens then I would consider the 23mm f2.0 or the 35mm f2.0. Both are fantastic and work great for street and landscape. - partner.shopmoment.com/3Pb7By Those are pretty reasonably priced new but you can find great deals used as well.
I bought one a week ago for $200. Pretty happy so far, been out shooting only two nights so far (to keep safe from corona currently) with the 18-55mm f/2.8-4 lens. I find the menu system a bit clunky though, and like you said, the ISO dial (and the shutter dial too for that matter) is hard to turn when you have your eyes on the viewfinder. So, I'm mostly shooting with auto ISO and auto shutter speed. But yeah, the images look nice.
Wow, $200 is a fantastic deal. And that 18-55mm if a great lens. It took me a little bit to get used to everything wit these cameras but it's second nature now for the most part. But since you bought it at that price, if you end up not liking it you can probably sell it for the amount you purchased it for or maybe more. Thanks for watching and commenting! Follow up later and let me know how it's going with your camera.
@@CraigBergonzoni I bought the lens separately by the way, for $230. Just thought of mentioning it here, in case anybody thinks I got the whole package for $200 :)
I own this camera and it is good. But I also own 2 Fujifilm X-E1. Results are the same, but the X=E1 is much smaller. And much more beautiful, kind of sexy. I like the vieuwfinder on the side. I do not use the screen to make photo's and I never make films. The Fujifilm lenses are great! Digital camera's getting much sooner "old" then analog camera's, especially in the beginning. If I compare my Canon 6D with my Canon 5D there is a big difference. Strange that my X-E1 and also the X-T1 still work like new for me. And we are close to 2023... Happy new year to everybody!
I totally get what you're saying. The X-E1 is another fantastic Fujifilm camera. These early Fujifilm cameras still hold up really well and I love the images from them. Thanks for watching and commenting!
It will depend on your budget, whether you want manual or auto focus, and whether you have a focal length preference. Since you're switching from Canon you might know what your preferred focal length is. Let me know if you have preferences for those things and your budget and I'll give you some choices to look at.
@@CraigBergonzoni thanks for your response! I didn't go crazy-for over 13 years I only had the kit lens-18-55, the 50mm 1.8 and a zoom- 75-300. I found myself using the 50mm and kit lens more when I travel. I do my 'early morning walks' when I travel and take mostly street and some landscape shots.
@@eveanddell Well the Fuji 'Kit lens' 18mm-55mm is a well loved lens. I've never tried it actually but everyone who does loves it. In terms of a 50mm. If you want a 50mm equivalent focal length for relatively cheap, you can't go wrong with the Fujifilm XF 35mm f2.0 R WR. I've owned it for years and have used it on all Fujifilm cameras I own. It's a great lens. The 'Magic' lens, the 35mm f1.4 is fantastic as well but it's more expensive, has slow autofocus and isn't weather sealed (if that's an issue for you). The newest is the 33mm f1.4 which is amazing but definitely more expensive. The f2.0 is a great starting point for a AF 50mm equivalent. If you want a budget MF option, look at lenses from TTartisan. I just reviewed the 35mm 0.95 but they also have a fantastic 35mm f1.4.
Got one "neglected" for 100$. Deep cleaned it, changed the grips, rebent the doors and "fixed" the ISO dial and now use it more than my x-t30. Mainly because of more comfortable viewfinder! This one will stay. Was bought for backup but... love it. The two gripes are just the fast focus point changing that I can do quickly with the joystick on the x-t30 and the lack of support of film simulations in the Capture One. But the latter is fixable, the first one configurable to an extent :) Not that much bigger that X-T30 surprisingly. Still comfortable on my backpack strap.
That's awesome you found that one to rescue! Great deal. These are such cool cameras. What kinds of stuff do you shoot with it? Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@CraigBergonzoni I love macro (reversed one of the old manual lenses that I had), also prefer wide angles so this one is mostly used with Rokinon 12mm theese days - hunting for old 10-24mm on ebay :D. Not a pro, so, shooting everything that I want memories of :)
great content thank you, i'm shooting street photography/portrait , night photography mostly, i want to move from my canon eos 650 d (2012)+ nifty fifty + pancake 24 mm, would you recommend the jump for the XT 1 or the XT 2 for more "future proofing" if can say? thank you
Hey! I would choose the X-T2 especially if you like night photography. It much better performance at high ISOs. I shoot a lot of my B&W images on my X-T2 at 12,800. And even if I shoot my color images at that setting they still have a really pleasing organic noise structure to them that feels a little more like film grain. If the price difference between the 2 models is too much for you the X-T1 would be a great choice too. But if I'm choosing between the two, I'm going with the X-T2. Let me know what you end up doing. Thanks for watching!
@@CraigBergonzoni I've choosen the XT-2 last month and i'm definitely pleased with my images, and like you said for night photography it perform much better than my canon 650D which at 6400 ISO was too noisy for exploiting my images, i like that the body feel much lighter too, i've coupled it with a budget pancake tt artisan 25mm f2.0 manual focus and it works well, thank you!
I would consider the Fujifilm XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4. This lens is included with some camera kits when bought new but if you're buying a used body that has no lens this is still one to consider. Sometimes it takes a while to learn what focal lengths you're going to be drawn to and starting with a lens like that will give you flexibility. If you need a cheaper then look at the XC series of lenses from Fujifilm. They're not built as well but still have good image quality. Fujifilm has a few options for prime lenses for $350-500. These are some of my favorite lenses. If you need a cheap prime lens look at Pergear, 7Artisans, TTartisans and companies like that. But the 18-55mm is a great starter lens that will remain useful for a long time. Thank you for watching and commenting! Much appreciated!
Thanks for such a great and detailed video!! Used fuji prices are crazy right now! I'm super new to photography and am trying to decide between a xe2 or xt1 as my first 'real' camera. I was leaning more towards a xe2 because of the form factor and i know I'll be taking it with me travelling. However all the xe2 I've been able to find cost about $50 to $75 more than a xt1! If you were in my shoes which one would you choose? 😅
Hey Angie, the used prices are definitely crazy right now. Hopefully they will plateau when some of the newer cameras are announced this year. And honestly, the fact that the X-E2 is currently more expensive than the X-T1 is one of the biggest reasons I would suggest going with the X-T1 right now. I feel the X-E2 prices are at their peak and if you buy one at this price it will be tough to get your money back, or even get close to it, if you decide to sell. The X-T1 prices on the other hand are much more reasonable and I feel like they'll maintain their price better. But beyond price there are other positives about the X-T1 including, weather sealing, better EVF, more responsive eye sensor when switching between the EVF and back screen (at least in my experience.) I also just love how the X-T1 feels when using it. The X-E2 is fantastic as well but if i'm choosing between the 2 I would choose the X-T1, ESPECIALLY when it's cheaper. You honestly can't go wrong with either though. I hope that helped a little. I'll be interested to see what you end up doing. Best of luck!
@@CraigBergonzoni thanks for such a detailed response!!! Unfortunately since posting my comment the XT1 I had my eyes on already sold but I'll keep my eyes out for another!
I turn the "Shoot without lens" option to "ON" and set the focal length of the lens in the Manual adapter setting. (this is just for the metadata on this camera) Let me know if you have anymore questions. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@CraigBergonzoni how do you shoot then? (Coming from a PASM camera). Set the aperture on the lens, and then adjust the shutter speed dial, till you see the proper exposure in the EVF/LCD? Does focus peaking work well on the X-T1? Waiting for my X-T1... will try your film recipes.
I read the light meter and adjust the aperture and or shutter speed until the meter is where I want it to be. You can also set the aperture on the lens and set the shutter speed to "AUTO" this will give you aperture priority even on manual focus lenses. I'll do that sometimes but most of the time I shoot completely manual adjusting everything myself and keeping an eye on the light meter. Let me know how the X-T1 works out for you! Great camera!
Back in the day that camera model was preordered like crazy. But I had waited until it hit the shelfs and snug it immediately. That camera has only one fault build-quality wise, and that's the port door on the left side, which deteriorates over time. And all do I don't use it that much these days (having the X-T2 & X-H1) I simply can't force myself to sell it. Course there's simply something indescribably magical about it...
I agree. There is something magical about it. I’m not sure if I’ll ever sell mine either. I also have an X-H1 and will eventually pick up another Fuji body. Thanks for watching and commenting!!
I have owned xt1 for 4+ years never felt the need to upgrade. I am only a still shooter. Most of the time its the lens thats worth upgrading to make your photos superior. So I just spend the money on lenses.
That’s so cool! It sounds like you have the right strategy by investing in lenses. I’m excited to add a couple more Fuji lenses. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@orion7741 Except he's not talking about the film simulations but the way that the xtrans ll sensor capturing images compared to the newer xtrans lll and lV sensors.
@@orion7741 The first two generations of X Trans sensors have a more organic way of dealing with noise at high iso's and the colors it gives won't be replicated that easily even if you work your way with the Raw Files of the newer sensors. They're not accurate by any means but that's what it makes it Iconic and people prefer to have those natural filmic look. Having to use an X-T30 alongside with my X-T1 I can definitely say that the X-Trans IV gives out a more modern digital look and the Grain option doesn't really work that well in my opinion. I only use my X-T30 for events/client work for a more flexible resolution to crop in and a better AF other than that, I would still use my X-T1 all the time.
Heyy, first of all thank you for that video. Im still thinking to get this one… but im not sure if i should get the x100v or the xt4. My budget is not that big to buy two cameras. I could get the xt-4 in the kit version or the xt-1 with several lenses. Another option would be the xpro 2. What would you recommend for street photography?
Hey, I apologize for the late response. If you can find a used X-T4 right now I would consider going that route. It will be cheaper than the X100V and not too far off the X-Pro2 price. I now have 2 X-T4s and love them. There are a lot of great choices out there but the X-T4 has everything most street photographers need. Yes the screen bothers some people but to be honest I keep it closed most of the time and shoot it like a film camera and I like that process.
That intro made me laugh on the train - a very hard thing to do. I've always felt a disconnect with any camera I've owned and I never knew what it was until I found out the XT dials existed. No menu diving or assigning of buttons. Just direct and instant.
haha, I'm happy I made you laugh! Having a light & comedic start was the goal. I hoped it wasn't going to be annoying. lol. And yes, I totally understand what you're saying about being connected to the camera. The dials, buttons and switches on these cameras are awesome. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@CraigBergonzoni I found your video because I just ordered an x-t2 and it's coming tomorrow, so I'm just impatiently waiting! I have an x100f and recently got an x-e2 and while I love the size and form factor of it, the body itself is noticeably cheaper than the x100f at nearly every turn. I'm looking forward to the solid body and dedicated ISO dial (the integrated shutter speed/iso dial on the x100f is nice, but I think separate dials will be better). Nice review.
@@salisbury84 That’s awesome! I can’t wait to hear how the X-T2 works out for you. I’ve been thinking about picking another X-T2 up. I don’t need it but I still want it lol. Congrats! And thank you for watching and commenting! It’s greatly appreciated
Yeah, I have an XE4. And it's... Fine. My coworker showed up yesterday with his XT1 and vertical grip. I handled it. Friendship with XE4 now cancelled. XT1 new best friend. Need to find one.
I hear you! It's such a cool camera. Let me know if you end up finding one. Thanks for watching and for your comment! It's cool to hear from people trying this out.
Hi Craig. Thanks for this overview of the XT1. Someone's selling an XT1 Graphite Edition at around US$470 "Pristine" condition according to a seller (as in mint). Would that be something worth to buy? OR the price is just too high?
It's not a bad price for a mint condition version. I would try to negotiate a little lower $420-450 though. But it's close enough that if the price is good to you then go for it. Let me know how it goes. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@CraigBergonzoni Thanks for commenting. Sometimes I'm just not really sure. I have an XT3 and it takes great images but the XT1 has piqued my interest watching those "XT1 in 2022" RUclips videos like yours. And people in Fujifilm Facebook user groups are saying that they regret selling it because the images it renders is a thing to behold. I'm actually contemplating whether to get an X100v or this one (definitely cheaper) but also with risks of acquiring certain issues such as the skin peeling issue and of course, if I could adapt to the press-to-turn the ISO dial it has. I'm just a hobbyist shooting family, food, travel, and street images. If the XT1 proves it can render stellar images than the XT3, then I might consider selling the XT3 and just get either an X100v or a 2nd hand XPro3 and make the XT1 a second body. Your thoughts?
@@nathanielngosy Hey Nathaniel, I definitely wouldn't sell the X-T3 to get the X-T1. The X-T1 is a fantastic camera and an awesome value but whenever I have an X-T2 or X-T3 in my possession I don't miss much about the X-T1. It produces some great images but I don't think they're super special necessarily, just slightly different than the X-Trans III/IV images. Also, the improved high ISO performance of the X-T2 & X-T3 are reason enough to choose those over it, IMO. I absolutely love the X-T1 but I wouldn't suggest to anyone that downgrading would be worth it. I understand you wanting to try the X100V or X-Pro3 though. Those seem like great cameras. But bottom line is you have one of the best cameras Fuji's ever made in the X-T3 in my opinion. Wait a few years and everyone will become nostalgic about the X-T3 just like they are with the X-Pro1, X-T1, etc. I hope that helped. Let me know what you end up doing.
@@CraigBergonzoni Wow. Now, I definitely needed to be told about what you've commented here. Perhaps, even buying the XT1 to make it my 2nd body shouldn't be something to consider. Actually, I was slso offered a brand new XT2 + 18-55 kit sealed with 1-year warranty at US$830. I did inquire from 3-Fuji communities if it's wise to downgrade since I shoot primarily photos with my XT3 and they all said to better stick with the XT3 because of the issues coming out from the XT2 as well. It just gets me thinking if the XT2 is indeed a worthy 2nd body over the more expensive and limiting X100v focal length-wise.
@@nathanielngosy I think a X-T2 as a second body to your X-T3 makes a lot of sense. I've owned a couple X-T2s and haven't had any issues with them. If there are any widespread issues then I'm not aware of it.
Yes, I definitely think it is enough to print that size. You won't have a ton of cropping room but if you frame the photo close to what you want you'll be in good shape. Thanks for watching!
It’s 2023 now and after I got a X100V (pre hype) last year, I just picked up an X-T1 (after trying out the X-E2 and E3 as well). Amazing that it’s basically the same money, but most importantly still the same fun to shoot. I’ve adapted my Minolta lenses to it, the crop is a bit of an issue as I’m lacking something wider, but the sensor in combination with vintage glass is just a great match 🥰
Hey Jan! Sorry for the late response. That's so cool! Yeah, the X-T1 is something special. I great photo tool that kicks out some cool images for a great price on the used market. Thanks for watching and sharing!
@@CraigBergonzoni No worries, thanks for the reply! Two weeks were enough to let me fall down the Fuji rabbit hole a bit deeper as I have a used 35/1.4 coming my way 🙄🙈
Awesome!! Best of luck with it! They are hard to get now. So cool you got your hands on one. Thanks for watching and commenting! Let me know how it works out for you.
Great video! I am looking at a second hand X-T1 with a kit lens compared to a Canon M50 with a kit lens. Which one would you recommend? The new M50 with the 15-45 kit lens now, is about the same price as a second hand X-T1 with a 18-55 kit lens.
It depends on what you’re main purpose will be. If you want to shoot a lot of video and vlog with it, get the M50 but if stills photography is your main use then get the Fujifilm setup. Getting into the Fuji system with the X-T1 and that 18-55mm is great. If you decide to upgrade the camera body later that lens will still work and perform great with your newer body. Let me know what you decide to do. Best of luck no matter what. And thank you for watching and commenting!
@@CraigBergonzoni Thanks for the advice. I am planning to use more for stills for family and travel. I don't intend to use it for video because I don't know much about video editing haha. I'll see if the X-T1 is still available from the seller. Btw, I've also heard arguments saying, why not invest in a good smartphone with a great camera instead of a 6 year old camera? What are your thoughts and respond to that?
Well I definitely won't bash smart phone photography. They have great built in cameras and people make amazing images with them. That being said the advantages of a Mirrorless/DSLR camera over a phone are numerous. Improved dynamic range, greater control over depth of field, lens choices, flash compatibility, more flexibility with post workflow, being able to change batteries on the fly and keep shooting. And getting used to a "pro" level camera with easily accessible controls over the exposure of the image (ISO, Shutter Speed & Aperture). I'm sure there are more that I'm drawing a blank on. Overall, it's investment in a photographer's tool. Like I said, phones are great but they're definitely not on the same level in terms of overall usability, and user experience for someone who wants to spend a lot of time taking photos. I hope this helps a little.
Does the X-T1 suffer from freezing up? I have an X-H1 that is great for videos, but freezes up constantly for stills regardless of what card I use. I love the way the Fuji cameras are layed out, but am hesitant to spend money on another fuji. But if the X-T1 doesn't suffer from the freezing issue, I would love to have one.
That sucks you're having that issue with your X-H1. I haven't experienced that problem with any of my Fujifilm cameras, the X-H1 or others. I don't have this X-T1 anymore but I don't remember having any problems with it. I understand you being hesitant based on your experience but so far for me things have worked well. Thank you for watching! Best of luck! I hope your X-H1 starts working well for stills.
Do you think it's still possible to use the XT1 for client works? For events, Weddings, for a hobbys who wants to use the XT1 for a side hustle. Planning to buy a XT1 or a XT20 which the only two on a budget
In terms of image quality it's definitely worthy of client work. Some people have issue with the fact it only has one card slot. I don't think you can go wrong with this or the X-T20. It might come down to size difference of the camera and what your preference might be. Let me know what you end up doing. Best of luck no matter what you decide to get! Thanks for watching and commenting!
I wanted a compact camera to take better photos than my iPhone and to help me learn photography. I was going to go for the Sony a6000 has it’s extremely compact yet looking at the Fujifilm cameras made me want them, they look a lot more fun, even if they’re a bit larger. My main problem is choosing between this and the XT 20, I can find the XT 1 on eBay for $200, whereas the XT 20 is about $400. I don’t care much about video, I only want to lead photography for now, do you think that the XT 20 is worth the extra price? Is it that much more compact? Also, do you feel like the overall build quality of the XT 1 is better and more premium? Sorry for the many questions, thank you for your videos, you’ve sold me even more on Fujifilm’s cameras.
The X-T20 is slightly smaller in every measurement, height, width, thickness and weight. So that collectively makes it feel much smaller in the hand. In terms of build quality, they're both built well but the X-T1 probably edges out the X-T20 in this category. For example, the X-T1 has weather sealing. Another difference that may or may not be important to you is the fact that the X-T1 has a larger viewfinder. Whether the X-T20 is worth the extra price or not, well that's kind of difficult to answer. I would lean toward "yes" it is worth the extra price but $200 difference gets you close to the price of a new lens so you might be able to get the X-T1 and a solid lens for bit more than the X-T20 on its own. I don't know if any of this helps clarify your choice. The good news is you can't go wrong with either one. Once you dive in to the X-Series system I have a feeling you'll really enjoy it. Thank you for watching my videos and thank you for the comment and questions! Let me know what you end up doing.
@@CraigBergonzoni thanks a lot for your help man I really appreciate it. I’ve heard from many that the XT 1 has an “old school” feel with the images it produces, and that that quality was lost with the newer, more advanced sensors. Do you feel like it makes that much of a difference in terms of photos? If not then I will probably end up buying the XT 20 and slowly save up for a better lens in the future. If it does make a difference then I feel like the XT 1 will be a really fun camera to use and learn with. They will both be definitely better than a phone correct? Also I must say, some of your photos really look stunning, thank you for sharing.
@@togp3403 I love the images I get from the X-T1 but if I had to choose one camera forever between the X-T1 and the X-T2/XH1 (the cameras I've personally tried) I would go with the X-T2 or X-H1. There is something cool about the X-T1 images but what I connect with is the images created by the X-Trans sensors in general. If you're leaning toward the X-T20 then I say go for that. And yes, they are definitely better than a phone. You have much more control over how the image is captured and you'll have a lot more flexibility with editing the RAW images if you decide to do that. And thank you for the kind words about my photos. I appreciate it. I'm hoping to have some sort of photo book or some zines with them for sale in 2021.
I just bought the xt1 for 250€. Im so hyped to try It out. Ive shot most of my work with the Sony a7, and I dont feel inspired anymore yo shoot that camera. I love shooting film, so the design of this camera is one of the reasons I bought it (price being a consideration too). You made my hype go through the roof with this video 😂😂 nice review!
Josan, may I ask how you like it so fa? I shoot film too with a Nikon FE and was thinking if getting an XT1 to pair with the old glass. Let me know pls. Cheers from Switzerland Michel
@@michel559 so far beautifully. Such a nice shooting experience, way better than my Sony tbh. The viewfinder is huge and cristal clear. I tried adapting the Helios 44M and a 50mm canon FD from my film cameras. They both work great, especially the 50mm which fits very well with the camera appereance. I bought a pergear 25 f1.8 and it's really good, very compact and well designed. I highly recommend this camera if you like shooting film. I'm considering buying the xt2 down the Road.
@@josan301193 hey thanks a ton for that quick feedback. Just what I needed. Great to hear the EVF ist big and clear! Wonderful. I have the Nikkor 50mm/f1.4 I d like to pair. Maybe getting a 28 or wider ad a second lense. The Sensor factor is 1.5 I believe, isn‘t it? From 35mm Film camera to Fuji sensor. So old 50mm lens would be 75mm on the Fuji right? Sorry if stupid question, just new to lenses on mirrorless cameras 😜. How is the manually focussing? On my x100t in manual I can add that focuss peaking, red marks around the edges of the subject when sharp and zoom in to help. Same on the older XT1? Some good offers on both the XT1 and XT2 here....I soft soot for older gear. Do you think the XT2 is a worthy upgrade? Thanks again!
@@michel559 Yes, on an APSC sensor it would make a 75mm, which is great if you want a compact setting for portraiture. Manual focus is perfection, with focus peaking it's super simple, yeah I bet that it works just as good as your x100t. I use focus peaking on my sony and it's not very accurate in comparison with the xt1. I can't really tell you much about the xt2, you'd get more resolution and faster autofocus, which is not that crucial for the use I'm giving this camera. I'm thinking on getting the xt2 as a replacement for the sony, which I use for work (portraiture and studio). Resolution wise, I've seen big prints taken with the xt1 and I saw no porblem with them, for my personal work I can't really justify getting a camera higher than 24mpx, just because I don't want to be spending twice as much on storage and pc hardware to handle high res files. No problem!! :)
with regards to used prices, im so suprised at the prices at the moment. ive just bought a nearly brand new one used and paid just over £300 and thats with a 64gb SD card too....... very nice
i have a fullframe nikon 810, yet i reach for the xt1 and the nikon is collecting dust. i have a Leica summicron attached to the xt1, i cannot attach that lens to the nikon.
What was the name of the used gear outfit you mentioned where X-T1s were sold quickly? I couldn't quite understand what you said the name was & would like to check their web site. Thank you. Good review.
Hey Frank, I apologize. I usually put that link in the description. It's there now. But the place is Used Photo Pro. It's also Robert's Camera out of Indiana (same company). I buy from them and sell to them often. Thank you for watching and commenting! I really appreciate it.
@@CraigBergonzoni Thanks! I was aware of Used Photo Pro, actually already had their site bookmarked, just couldn't quite hear what you said the name was in the vid. So, thanks.
@@CraigBergonzoni I picked up the last brand new X-T1 in graphite silver in the stock of Samy's Camera today for $549. For whatever reason, the selection of used X-T1s on the market seemed thin right now, and I wanted to get one just for everyday use and to have in my car at all times when I am out and about. It literally was the last one they had, & I bargained with them and they lowered their price a bit to accommodate me. Already have a bunch of Fuji lenses with my X-T3, so am excited to get this X-T1 and start shooting with it. Enjoyed this video of yours, and there seem to be a bunch posted recently on YT extolling the IQ of the X-T1 & perhaps that's why they seem to be a bit scarce on the used market presently. Thanks for the recommendation.
Frank Dawkins Wow! Brand new?! That’s great! Enjoy it! I was just out shooting with mine today. I’m really getting into a groove with it. I don’t know if you saw but my latest video is a “film simulation” I made for the X-T1. I’m going to be making more of them kind of like the guy from Fuji weekly does. Thanks for the update! I love hearing stories like that.
I haven't tried that lens but from what I hear it's a fantastic lens. I personally wouldn't think twice about pairing it with the X-T1. I'm sure some others would say otherwise. I'm sure you'll enjoy the image quality from that lens if you do get it. And you'll have a super high quality lens if you ever decide to get a newer body. That lens is on my wishlist and I can't wait to try it. Let me know if you decide to pick it up! Thanks for watching and for your comment!
I just got it a few months back, love it. Only thing I'm noticing is the degrading of the wires when I flip my screen, but other than that, it works! Just bought an Xpro1 as well, I can't wait to try that out!
That's awesome! I'm thinking about picking up an X-Pro1 as well. Thanks for watching and commenting! I'll be doing more videos on my Fuji stuff for sure.
Tony, did you get your xpro1? I am torn between the xoro1 and xt1. I have an old Nikon FE film camera I bought recently, my first SLR style Camera, love the look, the feel, the shooting experience, especially the manual focussing. I di have an X100T that brough me back to photography 5 yrs ago. I really love that thing. It is still my goto camera to bring everywhere and shoot pics of my family. After buying the Nikon, and having an old 50mm lense I was thinking to pair that lens (and more down the road) with a digital body. My choice is still fuji, I love the rangefinder style looks but after using my Nikon I d love a SLR type Digital...so that it why I am torn between the xpro1 and xt1. If I get an xpro i might sell my x100t. But I heard the xpro1 viewfinder, EVF, is much darker and less clear than the one on the XT1. Is that your experience too? Cause I rarely use the OVF on my x100t. So a good EVF is key. The One on my x100t is good enough. But I cannot compare as I gaven‘t seen an xt or xpro. Thanks for your help Mitch from Switzerland
@@CraigBergonzoni craig, have you picked up a xpro1. I am still torn between the xt and the xpro. Would love to hear from someone using both. Take care
@@michel559 Hey Michel, I have not got one yet. If I get one soon I'll definitely let you know. I'll be searching eBay over the next few days so we'll see.
@@CraigBergonzoni thanks a lot Craig. Love your recipes, keep up the good work, I am sure it is appreciated very much from a LOT of people! Your videos made me actually consider the XT1 as well!
awesome! Great to hear!!! Thank you for watching and commenting! 😄

I used XT1 to shoot weddings from the start. The quiet mirrorless shooting was game changer for candid shots. What i really hated was a poor battery and the inclusion of the ADV feature. I accidently switched to ADV on a wedding and shot a bunch of shots in "toy camera" setting. The ADV automaticly switches from raw to jpeg and makes the photos unusable.
Considering that you also shoot film, have you tried using vintage lenses with the xt1? Would be nice to know if focus peaking and other focusing aids are good enough to use it that way. Cheers!
I love using vintage lenses on my X-T1. The focus peaking works great. On those rare manual focus lenses where focus peaking doesn’t work as well then I use the zoom in to focus feature and it helps a lot. I’ll have to do a video on some of the vintage lenses that I use. Thanks for watching and commenting! I appreciate it.
@@CraigBergonzoni hey Craig, great channel, found it cause of the recipe for jpegs! Thanks a lot for that! Yeah pls do a old glass combo with your xt1. I am actually thinking of getting one after I bought a Nikon FE and got into Film. Love that SLR look and feel to shoot. Love the manual focussing. So my idea was to get a digital to pair with the Nikkor I have. I already have a fuji x100t. Love it. Got it new in 2015. I was thinking of getting a XPro1...but I read the EVF is much less bright, clear than the xt1. Also smaller. I do use the EVF 90% of the time, so that is crucial. I do love the look of rangefinder style cameras...but after getting the old school Nikon SLR...man that thing has so much mojo, so easy to operate. I don‘t care about MP or touchscreens etc, I want to ve connected to my camera, love the looks, feel and have that mojo going. I think the xt1 could be one like that. You also said the Nikkor and the xt1 are a good match. Good to know. Thanks again for your efforts. Great videos man! Cheers from switzerland Mitch
I’m pretty sure that price was lowered to $999 after I posted this video. Either way $999 for an X-T3 is an awesome price! Thanks for watching and commenting!! I appreciate it.
Im really torn between the xt30 and an xt1 (yes that far 🤣) ended up getting an xt1 brand new. I wanted to keep it for a long time and there isn’t much preloved cameras around my area. The images online in comparison to the xt30, i feel like the images of the xt1 is more vibrant. Idk but in terms of IQ i love it. Maybe will try to score some xe2 when I get used to the fuji system. Im still a beginner, but I only shoot on a Nikon d3000.
That's great you got an X-T1! Awesome camera and a great entry into the Fujifilm system. The X-T30 is a great camera too. I honestly don't think you can go wrong with any of the X-Series cameras for quality stills. The cameras combined with the great Fuji lenses create one of the best values on the market in my opinion. Let me know how the X-T1 works out for you. Thank you for checking out my channel and commenting! Much appreciated.
I used to had the XT1 but sold it for XT3. Major weak point of XT1: 1. Merely 16MP 2. Weaker AF 3. The rubber fall off over time 4. Flip screen cannot flip horizontally But XT1 feels more compact and lighter than its successors. It is a remarkable model of its series. Anyway the silver copy is significantly more good looking than the black copy.
Have a X-T1 on the way, bought it for $300, including the 27 mm and the 50-230. The lenses are going to be sold so in other words: I've got a X-T1 for free 😅
lol I know that feeling! That's what happened to me. I started trying Fujifilm stuff while I was seriously deep into the Canon DSLR world. Fast forward a couple of years later and all I have is Fujifilm stuff. I hope it works out well for you! keep me updated.
My first Fuji taste was a Fuji XT20 now that I have XT2 I want to get an “old” XT1 as my secondary camera for my photoworks. Maybe Viltrox 56 1.4 will be the only lens that will be stuck on this body out of my 3 lenses which is the Sigma 18-35 1.8 and Viltrox 1.8
It's not the fastest at autofocus but I think with practice I think someone could make it work for sports. If the budget allows the X-T2 would be a better sports option (and anything released after). You could always buy a inexpensive body like this and spend the money an awesome lens then upgrade the body later. Why sports are you planning on shooting?
@@CraigBergonzoni Ah i see, thank you! And I shoot soccer, I'm just currently looking for an affordable option for another camera body that could perform well from the sidelines
To be honest I can't give you an unbiased answer since I've never tried the A6000 or any Sony mirrorless for that matter. Many people love them and I'm sure they work great. But obviously I love the X-T1 and can vouch for the value of that camera. One big deciding factor could be video features. I bet the A6000 is much better at video than the X-T1. So that's something to consider. Le me know what you choose. Thank you for watching and commenting!
ha! Good eye! I may or may not leave that album there for people to notice. They're one of my favorite bands and I love that album. That Tokina lens is awesome! I don't own one but I've tried it. I might have to pick me up a copy. Thanks for watching!
They are all great cameras. It really just depends on how much you want to spend. If you don't already own a lens then maybe consider the X-T1 or X-T2 and a lens. Like I said though, they are all great. I intend to pick up a used X-T3 someday. Let me know what you decide. I hope it works out! Thank you for watching and commenting!
How valuable is video to you? How important is > 16 mp? If those weren't important to me , I'd save the money and go with the XT1. You might be able to get a better deal on the XT1 if you wait a bit and shop around.
Good video bro' but I stop around the 12-13 minute as it is way too long and although you provide good information from personal experience it is hard to stay on just looking and listening to you. Thanks anyway.
KEH is awesome. I'm sure the camera will be in great shape. There are ways to figure out shutter count if you're curious, you might even be able to email them to see if they know. Mostly likely you won't even have to worry about it. I don't think I've even check out what mine is lol. That's exciting about your camera. Congrats! Enjoy it and let me know if you have any questions about it. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@CraigBergonzoni Thank you for your reply. I asked them if they check shutter count and they do not. Fast Shipping-arriving tomorrow. I ordered the 27 mm lens from another site, yet it is not ready till sometime in March. If you have any suggestions for lens in documentary style photographer, I am interested.
Depending on your budget I would consider anything in the WR mini-prime lineup, the 16mm f2.8, 35mm f2.0, or 50mm f2.0 ( I would say the 23 also but since you're getting a 27mm it's really close in focal length). If you want something cheaper to get you by until your lens arrives then check out some of the lenses from Pergear or 7artisans. If you don't mind manual focus then those are great options. Another manual focus option is the Canon FD 28mm f2.8 (you'll need an adapter). But that will give you good practice at that focal length and that lens is extremely underrated. Let me know when you get your camera and what lens you end up getting for now.
@@CraigBergonzoni I wrote a reply and it disappeared somehow. Before I read your reply, I purchased through KEH again. I bought 1 zoom and 1 prime; 16mm to 55mm f/2.8 and 80 mm f/2.8. I guess the zoom covers three of your recommendations for prime by one stop. Hopefully that can be compensated by ISO. If you see more of an advantage of the 3 primes versus zoom, I would like to hear what they are. I do not need to get the 27mm since it is on back order. I noticed that KEH has them. The only difference I see is they are not listed with "WR."
Its 2023 and i'm watching this video and I love my XT1
Nice!! It's a great one for sure!
It's 2024...... I love it and never will sell.....
Same but 2024 haahah ❤🎉
It’s 2022 and the x-t1 is my one and only for stills. The sensor just produces images that have so much character. There’s nothing else like it.
Hey Caleb! I agree! It's such a great sensor and camera. Love it. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Great video mate, really appreciate you putting in the time to make it. Makes me feel a lot better about my x-t1 on the way. Much love from Australia!
Thank you for the kind words and thank you for watching! Congrats on getting an X-T1! Let me know how you like it when you get it.
Seeing how carefully you place the camera on the table and how you manipulate it draws attention, some content creators treat them like stones, thank you for sharing your experience
Good point. Older model cameras dont just magically become horrible.
Definitely. These used Fujifilm cameras are great deals.
I have two XT1s and use them almost daily. XH1 seems never to get any use at all, poor thing
Jim Mason I ended up selling the x-h1, excellent camera but wasn’t using it much. The 2 lenses I kept are 16/2.8 and 56/1.2.
Couldn't agree more. Keep up the X-T1 content.
Thank you Kevin! I definitely will.
Still worth in 2024!! I love my both X-T1's the black and graphite version!❤
Absolutely! That’s great you have both versions
Just received my two X-T1 bodies today. Can't wait to get out there shooting!! Loving them already and they're in like new condition.
Awesome! Let me know how it goes!
WHERE DO YOU FIND ALL THESE DEALS!?
@@K3zz21 local classifieds and local camera shop in Germany.

That's so cool! I love that collection you have!
$200 is a great deal! I can't wait to hear how it works out for you. Thanks for watching and commenting, btw!

Hey one of the benefits of EV is that when using the EC, what you see is what you get. I have used EC far more than combining all my last Canon camera experiences together.
Great point! That sounds like my situation as well. I've used EC much more since shooting with Fujifilm than ever before.
I had my for 8 years still going strong I have taking over 50 GB B&W and strophotography,
Hey,great content! Do you recommend it still now with thw xt5 out ? With a fuji 50mm equivalent on it for street photograhy and fashion editorial?
That's awesome Nick! That sounds like an amazing combo. This is still one of my favorite cameras. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hi Craig , you mention to try the X-E series , I use the X E2s , with the fujinon 27 mm lens for street photography , has the same processor than the X T1
Really, really light and inconspicuous.
The XE 3 has the viewfinder smaller than the E-2 the E4 even smaller is. Big No for me
And the E1 some said that produce the nearest looking of the old films .... don't know .
But I love it , every time I go to to shoot street.... the xe2 is the tool for me , an other one is the x 100 in any model.
That’s great insight and info! I may have to give one of the X-E series cameras a try soon! Thank you for your input!

Hello Craig,
It's 2023 and I watched your other video on the X-T2 which I was thinking of purchasing but ended purchasing the X-T1 and waiting to receive it.
@@CraigBergonzoni Thank you for the links, Craig.
That's still a great deal! That whole setup for $430 is awesome.
I bought a Fuji XT-1 for $210 yesterday. I am looking forward to it.
That’s great! Good buy. I hope you enjoy it! Thanks for watching and commenting btw!
Great video. I'm getting into the Fuji system from a Canon. What starter lens do you recommend for it? Thanks!
@@CraigBergonzoni thank you so much! I really appreciate it!
That sounds cool!
how do u fix the iso dial that and my shutter dial are super stiff ...
great content thank you, i'm shooting street photography/portrait , night photography mostly, i want to move from my canon eos 650 d (2012)+ nifty fifty + pancake 24 mm, would you recommend the jump for the XT 1 or the XT 2 for more "future proofing" if can say? thank you
Still love it, still use it- even though it can still miss focus in... direct sunlight!!!
And so does the X-T2- dang Fuji!
Yeah, AF can be tricky with these but I still love them. Thanks for watching!
Sounds good, can I ask, what lens is that, what would you recommend for general everyday use? Thanks.
Do you think its a viable first camera for somone who wants to get into full manual photography by using mostly vintage glass?
Yes absolutely it is. It’s a fantastic camera for that.
Thanks dude finally I have been decided to buy one ...
No problem! I hope it works out for you. It's a really cool camera. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hello sir, such a great review and explanation, but i want to ask something, does this camera have wifi feature just like the xt10 have ??? Thank you
I haven't used the X-T10 yet but I'm pretty sure they have the same WiFi features. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Great review! How do you set up that camera to use the manual lens you have on there?
@@CraigBergonzoni Thanks! I like the aperture priority approach... which I use with my AF lenses. Love dials on top of the X-T1 ... no menu diving.
The XT-1 has that filmic look not found in its successors.
I agree! It has a very cool look. Thanks for watching and commenting! 🙌🏼
except for that you can find the exact same "filmic look" in the X-T2, X-T3, and yes the X-T4......
I only use my X-T30 for events/client work for a more flexible resolution to crop in and a better AF other than that, I would still use my X-T1 all the time.
thanks for the effort and the sharing. thumbs up.

Absolutely! That's right.
I hoped it wasn't going to be annoying. lol. @@CraigBergonzoni I found your video because I just ordered an x-t2 and it's coming tomorrow, so I'm just impatiently waiting!
Would it be enough for prints up to A3?
Paired with a35 mm f2 or f1.4
Shooting a diverse range from portraits to architecture.
Thanks in advance

Nice! I hope you love it as much as I do! Let me know how it goes. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Josan, may I ask how you like it so fa? I shoot film too with a Nikon FE and was thinking if getting an XT1 to pair with the old glass.
Let me know pls.
Cheers from Switzerland
Michel
with regards to used prices, im so suprised at the prices at the moment. ive just bought a nearly brand new one used and paid just over £300 and thats with a 64gb SD card too....... very nice
Nice! Congrats! I hope it works out well for you 🙌🏼
i have a fullframe nikon 810, yet i reach for the xt1 and the nikon is collecting dust. i have a Leica summicron attached to the xt1, i cannot attach that lens to the nikon.
So, thanks.
Oh cool. No problem!
Great camera and I own one, love the titanium look you have which is pretty rare
It is a great camera! And agree about the look. It's super cool. Thank you for watching and commenting!

I also really, really appreciate this video. I'm just about to leave my house to trade my M50 for an X-T1 and I couldn't be happier.
Awesome! That’s exciting about getting the X-T1! Let me know how it all goes. Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
Do you recommend new lens like 33mm 1.4 with XT1?
Thanks for your help
Mitch from Switzerland
@@CraigBergonzoni craig, have you picked up a xpro1. I am still torn between the xt and the xpro. Would love to hear from someone using both.
Take care

@@CraigBergonzoni 7 months in. I’ve used it almost every day. I absolutely adore this camera. The grips have been peeling because i use it so much lol
@@K3zz21 That’s so cool! I’m happy to hear it’s working out so well
The old sensor is great👍
Yes it is! I’m very happy I picked up this camera.
its fantastic i have it and the xpro-1 with 16-55 f2.8
Ok cool! I will work on this and one or two videos about this up sometime in September. Thanks for the feedback!

I'm considering an x-t1 for my travel camera. Nice review, but I think you made a mistake on the price of a new x-t3. $999 is what I'm seeing now.
I’m pretty sure that price was lowered to $999 after I posted this video. Either way $999 for an X-T3 is an awesome price! Thanks for watching and commenting!! I appreciate it.
MC2 Oh I realize what you’re talking about now. @13:16 - I’m actually talking about the X-E3 not the X-T3 but I didn’t say it very clearly.
Craig Bergonzoni Gotcha. Hahaha. You said it correctly. My bad.
Major weak point of XT1:
1. Merely 16MP
2. Weaker AF
3. The rubber fall off over time
4. Flip screen cannot flip horizontally
But XT1 feels more compact and lighter than its successors. It is a remarkable model of its series. Anyway the silver copy is significantly more good looking than the black copy.
and not usable video...
@@nickgoogle4525 you definitely need to use manual focus on XT1 to shoot video
If you select the electronic shutter, you can select shutter speed 32000.
Good point, Kenneth. I should have clarified that. Thanks!
Wonderful camera but when i go hiking longer than an hour or on vacation I'll choose one of my others because it's heavy to me.
just buy 2ndhand last week :)
Have a X-T1 on the way, bought it for $300, including the 27 mm and the 50-230. The lenses are going to be sold so in other words: I've got a X-T1 for free 😅

Just bought a X-T1 today. And now I’m afraid that I’m not gonna use my Pentax DSLR that much anymore. Lol!

And thank you again ... So I went out this morning and got myself one I'm so excited
Nice! That's a good idea.I need to try out the Viltrox lenses. I have yet to do so. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Craig Bergonzoni update! I just put a pentax super takumar 50 1.4 to have a better personality on my images plus the magic does the XT1 have.
Awesome! Ironically, I've been shooting with that lens as well. I plan on doing a video on it soon.
do you think it could be a good sports camera?
It's not the fastest at autofocus but I think with practice I think someone could make it work for sports. If the budget allows the X-T2 would be a better sports option (and anything released after). You could always buy a inexpensive body like this and spend the money an awesome lens then upgrade the body later. Why sports are you planning on shooting?
@@CraigBergonzoni Ah i see, thank you! And I shoot soccer, I'm just currently looking for an affordable option for another camera body that could perform well from the sidelines
Sounds cool!
Found X-T1 for 200€ and Alpha A6000 for 250€, and don't know which to chose.

Hey! Fair enough. I get that. Some of my videos are long and some are really short. Thanks for watching and commenting! I always appreciate feedback.
I just bought one from KEH for 400 dollars. They do not give the shutter count.
If you have any suggestions for lens in documentary style photographer, I am interested.
meant to say "photography" versus "photographer."
