    I have a pair of the Gen 3 Everyday sneakers in cotton canvas already (in burgundy) Its a great shoe; and I was just checking out the review to hear about the leather, as im thinking of getting a second pair.
    Also have the Huarache Wide. Everything has been great and so is their customer service team!

      Yes I really love Origo the company, quality, service, etc. In regard to the Gen.3, I own a pair of leather and a pair of canvas, and I will say that I do prefer the leather in this case, as they have just a bit more "give" in them as far as the width--which in the case of my wide feet makes all the difference. I have another Origo review coming up in the next 2-3 months, so stay tuned! Please use my code ORIGOJOSH if you end up grabbing another pair! Thanks!

      I'M NOT SURE if the soles are replaceable on these or not, but here are a couple of options you might want to look at...
      * Atlantis Handmade - use my affiliate link: bit.ly/joshatlantis and use my code BAREFOOTJOSH to save 10% on anything they have.. I've reviewed their sneakers (ruclips.net/video/QLbNknk89OQ/видео.htmlsi=lPVHcVBUpl8wE0Er), chelsea boots (ruclips.net/video/aNKkMqxTY40/видео.htmlsi=P1pQzrYmXL6jtfQE) and slip-on (ruclips.net/video/uSzH5yi1IGs/видео.htmlsi=djQ_a9oVYWf0WDsk) models here on the channel; but they also have a more typical "Oxford" model.
      * Prime Trotter - I've done 2 reviews of the custom dress shoes I got from them. I don't have any affiliate links or codes for them, but their info is on the reviews I did.. (ruclips.net/video/AoesbBkoA1U/видео.htmlsi=HPhEm8KarbqbcRGq) and (ruclips.net/video/fJDbKJDHHN4/видео.htmlsi=YC1kvcIsbdjyGF_N)
      * I've heard you can also resole Softstar Shoes, but again, I'M NOT SURE so check into it - my affiliate link: bit.ly/softstarjosh ... I've reviewed 2 models here on the channel.. the Primal Sawyer (ruclips.net/video/5_zWL-ffh88/видео.htmlsi=bPPSNQQkTggMYBwz) and the Switchback hiking boots (ruclips.net/video/09gEYnI-Bk8/видео.html)

    I just found your channel, and I'm glad I did! I see the Army MP shadow box on your wall. I just retired Air Force Security Forces and 21 years of se4vice have killed my feet and knees. Barefoot shoes have saved my feet and made it bearable to walk without pain. Question about these shoes, do th4y have any cushion at all?

    • @barefootshoejosh
      @barefootshoejosh  10 месяцев назад +2

      Hi Gus. You probably already know this; but barefoot shoes, by definition, generally aim for thin, flexible soles with good ground feel--kind of the antithesis of "cushion." The sole thickness on these is 5-6mm, which is pretty thin. That said, if you have lower volume feet, you may be able to find yourself a cushioned insole to put inside the shoe, if you're willing to give up the ground feel. If you want something more cushioned, I have a shoe I'm going to review here in the next couple of weeks that might be what you're looking for. Also, if you haven't already, you might want to follow me on Instagram at @BarefootShoeJosh since those reviews are where I include more details (like sole thickness, etc.) and rate things like groundfeel. Stay tuned for the next couple of reviews and you might be glad you did...

      @barefootshoejosh  11 месяцев назад +1

      They are definitely wider than they were; but I still wish they were wider. I could use another 5mm in width for my wide feet. For 95% of people, they'll be great though!

      @mamabear9389 11 месяцев назад +1

      @barefootshoejosh Thanks Josh. The Splay freestyle fits me so well I may just stick with them and try the leather version. I fear Origo may be just a big goo narrow for me. I have been wearing mainly the Splay Freestyle and Softstar Primal Runamoc which is crazy wide. But my toes love them!

    • @barefootshoejosh
      @barefootshoejosh  11 месяцев назад +1

      @@mamabear9389 These are only one tiny mm narrower than the splays. I highly doubt you would notice that. What are your foot measurements?

    • @mamabear9389
      @mamabear9389 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@barefootshoejosh My feet are 4 inches wide at the ball of the foot. Depending on how the shoe is made, I get more width than the actual sole width. My feet are fairly narrow elsewhere. I think that is why Splays work so well for me because they are wide at the forefront but the rest is narrower. Freets for example are wider throughout the whole foot. If the Origo width is close to Splay they definitely may work. I do love the look of them. Length of foot 10.25 inches.

    • @barefootshoejosh
      @barefootshoejosh  11 месяцев назад +1

      @@mamabear9389 I was looking for width and length, preferably in centimeters and inches.. but it sounds like the Origos should fit you, based on the fact that they're only 1mm narrower than the Splays.

  • @Gman1024
    @Gman1024 Год назад +1

    Definitely nice looking.
    Still look like they're better, but still a bit narrow for our flippers by a centimeter or more, but the leather and sole seem to be spreading out and they will absolutely relax over time making them more comfy.
    I like them for sure, and definitely not like old style shoes, where the feet hang over on both sides of the sole by an inch, haha.
    Thanks for showing them.
    Thank you to Origo for sending them over.

    • @barefootshoejosh
      @barefootshoejosh  Год назад +3

      My feet are 11cm wide. These are around 10.8.. so definitely not too narrow.. just 2mm shy, which is basically nothing, and more than accommodated by the flex of the material of the uppers.

      @@barefootshoejosh, oh, good to know, the website says they're 3.9" wide I believe, which is how I got my guestimate.
      Those are the charts I'm interesting in seeing, actual insole and inner widths of barefoot shoes.
      Not something I've found anywhere for those of us who really like to look at data without having to buy and return tons of shoes.
      I've found a couple facebook groups lately that could provide some info, but you really need to spend a lot of time reading comments to find the gems, but who has that kind of time, haha?

      @barefootshoejosh  Год назад +1

      @@Gman1024 Yes I'm not sure.. maybe the chart hasn't been re-done since the Gen1 or something? Just guessing. But these are nicely wide. Right up there with the widest. If you need wide.. check out this recent video I did on the WIDEST Barefoot shoes: ruclips.net/video/DPvEa7grwOQ/видео.html
      The Origo Gen2 barely made the "widest" list, but with these additional 4mm on the Gen3, they would have tied for the #4 slot on the widest list. Impressive indeed!

    • @Gman1024
      @Gman1024 Год назад +1

      @@barefootshoejosh, yes, any progress toward wider options is always appreciated.
      I had asked xero if they planned to follow the trend others are doing and make barefoot+ models that are wider and they replied that they had no plans to, but would mention it to their developers.
      We'll see, if more people demand wider and stop settling for just anything foot shaped, the major manufacturers will hopefully listen.
      Unfortunately, people associate high cost with being the best, so just follow suit until they learn more.

      Well in my case, I only wear white shoes every so often, so mine look like new, color and soles are great. Origo Shoes are really nice quality. Hi, thanks for commenting. I will tell you that their Gen1 model DESTROYED my Achilles tendon with blisters the very first time I wore them--so much so that after only a mile and a half of walking, I took them off and walked home barefoot on the sidewalks, which I never do. HOWEVER, the Gen2 and Gen3? ZERO problems!

    Great review. I was looking to get a pair of these. I measure 27.8 cm. I emailed Origo and they suggested size 11. I m a little skeptical because of the exchange policy and I want to get the right size to avoid incurring more cost. What is your measurement and size? What size would you recommend from your experience in the shoe?

    • @JoshGreeson
      @JoshGreeson 3 месяца назад

      Hi my feet are 27cm x 11cm. I wear their size 11 pretty comfortably. In my dream world, I would make them a touch wider, but they do fit. It is a pretty structured shoe, since it's made of leather (compared to some other shoes made of mesh or more flexible materials which may accommodate extra width)... so if your width is wider than mine, you might size up. Length seems true to size but double-check their sizing chart and take their recommendation. I'm guessing you might be a half size bigger than me, but not sure.
