Exceptional , very helpful, informative, educational video. Thank you for generously sharing your wisdom and expertise. Appreciate your work and seasoned talents. Keep up the great creative work. Mucho Gracias
Sometimes when the unfoiled sheets sit out for a while they end up taking on little dust particles and other small fibers that interrupt the foil. I find I have the best foiling results (with a minc and with a laminator) when I foil right after printing.
Tiffany, I have a new found respect for you and others that do this. This is a very real process, and not to be taken lightly. Bravo, Bravo. Warm thoughts I send your way Raquel 🤯🤕😨😧😦🧐
Im wondering how do you print the colour and then the black, im having difficulty figuring that out. Love how in depth you go over everything else though!
Thank you for this video show how design cut, print laminated foil did a great job I know there’s a lot of step process go though this helps did a beautiful job love the foil paper this help I do need to purchase a laminator I’m been searching on Amazon on any will do in my price range for now thank for this video so, much I am glad I ran into your RUclips channel I heaven’t seen any takes u step by step need to do be fore start laminating foil paper sheet not too many out there this helps thanks again for this video
I think a good thing to note and mention is everyones machine is different. I could never use depth of 6 and two passes for stickers or it would cut them completely out. So everyone needs to test before wasting all their paper. I loved the detailed video on doing the foil thank you for that!
I am really loving your vlogmas videos!! I especially love your vlogs!! It’s funny, people think that their vlogs they record are boring because they’re just doing basic things like work, cook dinner, bedtime.... but they really are inspiring! Just everyday life!! 💜💙❤️ love them.
@Cardboard Couture Sorry for the late question to this...I just came across your video and hope that you will still respond. My question is are there any of the foils that can be used with an inkjet printer or MUST you ONLY use a laser printer because that's the only way this foiling transfer works? I'm just beginning to learn about this in 2020...lol...learning new skills...I have 2 inkjet printers and no laser printers...this looks SOOO fun!!!
I'm just learning about this too! It's the toner(black powder) from laser printers that the transfer foil sticks too. Regular inkjet printers do not have toner because it's liquid ink!
I’m so pleased that you posted this video as I’m getting a Silhouette for my Christmas. You were the 1st person I watched who used printable stickers and you pick such beautiful kits. I can’t wait to get started and might even invest in a laser printer😂. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and a fantastic new year. Keep doing what you do as I love watching your channel.🎄⛄️🌨❄️🥂🍾🏴
Thank you for taking the time to do this - we appreciate you so much!! Silly me, I was getting so much curling today because I forgot about the thick paper option where it will feed out of the back. Anyway, excellent video!! 💕
THANK YOU for taking so much time to show this process. I wonder if part of the problem with the foil not sticking was because you used paper "sandwich cover" instead of the normal plastic protective sheet when running through the laminator. IDK...I've never done it myself so it's just an idea. You did a great job & that's a beautiful kit...love the pink.
I do think that’s the problem. Another subscriber said they use the plastic Minc protective sheet in the laminator and that it works way better. So I’m going to buy one.
Hi! I just started making stickers, but I'm having problem aligning the lazer print to align with the graphics once I printed with the inkjet. May I ask how you align it?
Hi! Thank you for this video. When I laminate my card stock, I"m getting specks of laminator bits outside of the printed area. How do I go about this issue? Thank you
I am new to this! Can you print your designs that you want foiled on the laser printer, then use the laminator, and then put a foiled sheet through the laser printer again to print in black over top of foil? And can you foil the gold then cover a spot you want in silver and feed it through the laminator again? Will it affect the gold?? I want to make labels for candles, I was thinking of purchasing just a minc printer but if I bought a really good laminator? But I also don’t have a laser printer yet. So would just purchasing a minc be my best bet?
This video was amazing and extremely helpful. Thank you!!! I have question though if u don’t mind. 😩If I was to print the part I didn’t want foiled which would be the brown part of my logo, and I go to staples to get the black parts of my logo printed with laser. How do I make sure the black is printed correctly in alignment with the colored part of the logo like yours did?
I would guess that you'd want to bring a few extras and do test prints...if you just delete the non-foiled pary of your file, everything should line up properly as long as you have the paper loaded in the machine correctly.
So if I got this right the foil only sticks to whatever is laser printed not ink jet printed? Did u double print it in 2 printers to separate what gets foiled
@@escapedgoat5865 you mean if you want to add colour backgrounds? Yes, you would need to print the backgrounds first with inkjet printer, and then run the paper again through laser printer for parts you want to foil
@@nekonette wow that's what I thought but I just don't understand how when you run it thru both how you would tale out everything not color because all I can imagine is running it thru printed on inkjet first and if I run it thru thru laser it would print the same thing on top but all but in black and grey....

Is there a way to do this custom instead of with a purchased kit already with the foil file? I wonder how you would remove the background after adding where you want the foil?
Hi! I do this all the time as I usually either make my own kits, or use printables too. What I do is work in layers. If you have the business edition (I think) of Silhouette, you can do it all there, or I work in Photoshop. Either way, you just have to make one layer for “inkjet”, and another for “foil”. Here’s where business edition makes it easy though, you can just hide the layer you don’t need, print, and then switch. I hope that makes sense lol.
I am hoping someone responds, but how do you keep it from foiling on everything? I have tried a couple of times and it foils the entire sheet to include the black ink from the laser and I am trying to do this on waterslide paper
That's a great question. There is definitely a way to save the file as a PDF. In Silhouette, click "print". Then, select "microsoft print to PDF", and it will save as a PDF. Unless you have a MAC, in which case, I don't know. HAHA
That was a great tutorial 😀 one thing that I would like to learn is how to use purchased clip art to put into the stickers we want to design. Thank you
How is this an affordable tutorial when I need both a laser AND an inkjet printer??😂 Plus a laminator on top of that. This must be for those that already have these items. 🙈 darn.
Greetings from the future. I had to go back to 2019 to learn how to foil. Thanks, Tiffany, I think you're the best!
Ahhh!! You are the first tutorial I find on printing with inkjet and then laser thank you so much!!
I bought the minc machine plastic sheets and used it in my Scotch laminator and my foiling results are much better. They were five bucks. TFS!
Thanks girl!!!
Where did you purchase it from? I’m not seeing it on amazon.
I purchased mine at Joann's. But maybe try Minc Transfer folders. Hope you find them.
Found them!! Thank you!

Thank you so much for this lesson. I'm wanting to do some foiling for fun. I buy from shops still but I like doing my own as some hobby time too.
Love learning all this! Crossing my fingers for a portrait!
Perfect timing on this video!! I’m planning to purchase and use some printable kits for 2020 in my EC or PW Rings daily.
You're going to love it!!
Really cool to see how that is done!
Thanks for the information! I was foiling first and then cutting. Looks much easier to cut then foil. Good to know!
Thanks for this.... Had an idea in my mind and you dealth with all concerns.
Glad it was helpful!
Hi i have a question, why my foil is messy its not sticking to the printed area only.. The heat is 120c. Is it not hot enough or too hot?

Wow I love it, I’ve committed to buy a silhouette in 2020 to save 🤑and foil my own stickers ❤️
Yes girl!
No dusting your base or back of foil?
Hi! I just started making stickers, but I'm having problem aligning the lazer print to align with the graphics once I printed with the inkjet. May I ask how you align it?
The foil is sticking to the white paper-non printed area. What I’m I doing wrong? I used Hobby lobby brand heat transfer foil
Are they just normal regular printers? Like nothing fancy specialty like made for stickers?
Normal every day printers! No fancy business. Inkjet's don't foil. Laser printers do.
Love the video...LOVE Your glasses. Where did you them from?
Thank you so much! They are from ZenniOptical.com!
Question! What’s the best laminator machine for foiling (resale)? What do you recommend?
Hi! Thank you for this video. When I laminate my card stock, I"m getting specks of laminator bits outside of the printed area. How do I go about this issue? Thank you
That's so weird! Maybe try running some blank paper through it by itself a couple of times to see if there's anything in there that needs cleared out?

Correct. Foil only sticks to toner (whatever is printed using laser printer)

So everything you print in black with a laser printer will be sticked to the foil?

Waterslide is finicky to foil. Make sure you’re using the correct foil. I hear waterslide for inkjet works better for foiling
Are you using the laser for foil only & inkjet for the rest you do not want foiled?
how do i avoid gettign foil everywhere else on the paper? besides the intended ink?
I want to know too :(
