@@LeadPhalanx-zv6wxwhoa…easy now…When I dropped in they had an R1S that you can crawl around in, an R1T from the Rebelle Rally on display, lots of info on things like color options, and three vehicles parked out front that you could check out (and I think get test drives, though I didn’t pursue that.)
The answer to the burn is not cost cutting but increasing deliveries. There are still many people who don’t know about Rivian and this builds the community of fans. I don’t know the exact cost of this project, but couldn’t have been much in the grand scheme. Anyway, the cash burn is already on the way down - at current rate of deliveries, they’ll be gross profit positive (not net) by end of this year.
These are aspirational vehicles. This showroom is strategically placed in an area with money. They are broadcasting that experience via social media. This effort seems to me to be very on-brand. You seem to think you know better than they do, what is your suggestion on spending that money instead?

Keep building ! Rivian show us how you are building the future of clean transport and intelligent manufacturing.
Keep on working. Great job.
Great job team

Ok cheers but this doesn't help sales which is what you need to focus on..
You realize this is a showroom, right? So, yes, sales…
@@jysmtl Who said anything about filling it with cars? You don't know much do you
@@LeadPhalanx-zv6wx As I understand it, part of the facility is dedicated as a showroom. Apologies if I am incorrect. Check it out.

Its an improvement over what was there before but it seems like an unnecessary pet project in an overpriced area with shit parking.
Is this a good use of precious $$$ at this time for Rivian? Short answer is No. Not when Rivian is buring through cash at ~$1 Billion each quarter.
