I do like the looks of this, then again, I enjoy the 50/50(?) aspect of the game that was played and still played with children. It does touch on a sentimental aspect of people.

6:57 That looks like Mark Elsdons Tequila Hustler. Apart from the rather too long preamble, how is it different?

      Hi Alan,
To answer your question, it is 100% completely different. Different effect, different method and different outcome.
Let’s start with the pre-amble. The effect started long before 6:57.
Too long? The preamble lasts just one minute.. and if it’s too long for you then that is subjective.
The preamble is a rouse and sets the rest of the routine up. And had it gone the other way, well that would have been phase 1.
But I didn’t want another performance but rather give an honest feel.
Phase 1: to start you tell the participant which hand the object is in by the participant imagining if the coin is heavy and hot and you get it right. That’s quite something.
      Then
Phase 2: the participant guesses which hand the performer is hiding the coin in.
Phase 3: (the bit you think is Tequila Hustler) You finish by telling the participant which hand the coin is in and if they’re a truth teller or a liar, however although it appears to be Tequila Hustler it is in fact not the same method at all as it works completely differently.
And by stating it’s Tequila Hustler shows me that this has certainly fooled you.
Also, with this you directly and accurately tell the participant if they’re a truth teller or a liar. And, you can miss the second bit (where you tell them if they did or did not switch) of the final phase and instantly tell the participant if they’re a truth teller or a liar.
There’s a lot more to it and a lot more going on that as of 6:57.
Step outside of RUclips and look at the performance a bit closer.. as a performer and mentalist, this gets great reactions in the real world.
