as a buyer, this actually did happen to me where my item claims to be delivered, but yet I reported that I had not received the item. I called my local USPS and honestly, it was USPS's fault. I was in contact with the delivery man, and it turns out the he delivered it to the wrong house (reason is i live in an apartment/condo neighborhood, and that all of the houses look the same.) I never received the item, and I just recently got a refund through paypal. I still have not received my item, and the delivery man / USPS is still trying to get a hold of my package. My only fear is if my actual item may be unauthentic.
I hate this situation because the seller loses out the most in the end. Their stock item is gone and the buyer gets refunded by PayPal. Just happened to me and the post admitted they delivered to the wrong house

So I was made to refund and the responsibility was on me to chase it up with the post being the sender 😤
I’m going through this right now. Ordered an item off mercari and item says it was delivered but I never received the item it’s already been 2 days and and the third day will be tomorrow. Mercari says to give it up to 48 hours as some packages will be marked delivered before they come but still have not gotten anything. Now I’m getting anxious because it was an expensive item and I don’t want to be out money and it’s also something that I need to make sure is authentic or not. Mercari only gives you 3 days and then you are asked to rate the seller or they rate the seller for you automatically. I just sent in a help request that I never received the item but mercari has been very slow with their customer service so I have no idea how long it’s going to take and what is going to happen. I’m going to call usps tomorrow and try to see if they can locate it & if it maybe got delivered to the wrong address. Please wish me luck 🤞🏼
The post office can give the seller a GPS tracking location of where exactly the package was delivered. I would tell the customer that and state that they will it will be investigated as mail theft is a federal offense and is not taken lightly.

I also had the same experience with some bars of gold i paid for really expensive i was really frustrated because it was 1 month already and the package wasn't delivered i tried to get a refund i contacted the local police and bank but non could help till i met hackroots_ on insta he just got some informations he needed and he tracked down the scammer and i got a refund in about 3 days. try him he could help. I'll buy high dollar merchandise right from a store even if it costs a little more, at least I'll have it and the thieves won't get my merchandise and money. It also happen to me. It discourages me to keep using eBay. One out of 4 packages either says delivered when I never got it or it is sent to another address to a city far away from me.

Basically if you buy something from eBay and the item never arrives, it is the customers fault for trusting them. I have no idea how USPS can get away of doing fake deliveries.
Same way UPS does-- they scan it as delivered but keep it instead. It's actually common where I live. After a while they can figure out if there's something valuable in a package. It's so bad here they have to lock veteran prescriptions and we have to pick them up in person.
What you don't understand is that buyers like us really do fail to get items delivered. I am actually upset with the way you talk with some "air" That's why I will not buy from anyone else except Amazon. You are actually a very obstinate seller. Your comment shows a lack of empathy and a choice to remain ignorant, as she has explained the issues that sellers of small handmade business face very well. Yes, it sucks that buyers like you may run into situations where you don't get your packages delivered, and she has explained quite well on any steps that buyers can take find out where their packages are if it's marked "Delivered" but not received (I am assuming this is the specific issue you are talking about). It is also the buyer's responsibility to look into the issue with their packages if it is marked "Delivered" and investigate themselves. Once the seller has done his/her job and due diligence with shipping the package, it is now the postal services' responsibility. Sellers do get scammed and they are also eating unnecessary losses for these in the name of "good customer service". Bad apples ruin it for everyone.
If the postal service marks a package as delivered but you didn't receive your item, take it up with the delivery company (USPS, Fedex, UPS etc.). At the very least they will be alerted to drivers who may be being dishonest and stealing / losing packages and marking them delivered. You may also qualify for a refund if the package carries insurance (often the case with UPS and Fedex).
Yeah, or FedEx actually loses the package or incorrectly scans it. I never received my package. On the FedEx tracking site it said it was "out for delivery at 2:31pm" from a city about an hour and a half away. Then instantly, also at 2:31pm it said it was delivered to my house. Which I was at during the time. No delivery. No package. Yet it's marked delivered. This is a stupid video and removes all blame from FedEx/UPS/USPS.

It feels like any company that doesn't have any systems in place in order to prove or disprove packages being delivered or not is just poor business practice because if you haven't and you have no way to tell then imagine how bad it looks as a company to deny a legitimate complaint from a customer who has been scammed. Companies need systems in place to prevent them from inadvertently scamming legitimate customers, just my take on it but seems like common sense from my point of view
I don't care if it's bad customer service or not. I tell people point blank in my policies on etsy that I'm not responsible for an item once it goes in the mail. They get the tracking number and that's it. The human condition is people will do what they can get away with especially in the world now

Look I did not get my package. I am out $87 from Mercari. I am 60 years old and don’t have to play stupid games. Mercari won’t even answer me nor will the seller. The trouble there is that in some cases the package gets delivered, but it gets stolen from the buyer’s doorstep while they’re at work. Personally I try to protect myself from these porch pirates as best as I can by choosing click and collect where possible so I can collect my package from a nearby shop on my way to the gym or from an Amazon locker at the petrol station when I fill up my car on the way home from work.
USPS constantly mark items as delivered when they didn't and sometimes take up to 1 month to actually do the delivery (if they didn't lose the package). I agree that they might have it at the postal office, but why do I have to go do their job if I paid for full delivery?

Yup all I can find is stuff about Etsy sellers saying every customer that refunds is a thief. Had the worst experience today. Dude didn’t even package the product and slammed me via messages calling me a would be thief when he was probably baked packing pipes into packages and forgot one, I asked him what to do and he started calling me a small business killer and a penny pinching thief when all I wanted was something I fucking paid for. So I have this problem in my town where my actual house number is repeated four times in one block. My street is a loop and the street name changes halfway around, and at that spot the numbers start counting back down. There are another two instances of my address number on the other side of the main road coming into my neighborhood, but I'd say 90% of the time that I don't get a package, it's because it's been delivered to the other duplicate number on the other end of my street. The problem is that the people who live there aren't very friendly, so I'm never certain if they just kept my package or not. It's a royal pain.
What about when an item says delivered and customer says they did not recieve it and amazon just gives them a refund... does that refund come out of the sellers pocket or does amazon just reimburse on their behalf? Wouldn’t that be good for the seller and buyer as they are not losing money?

Waited over 2 months for my product from amazon and finally the "shipped" notice came up. Went to post office to get package and no package. Waited another week and still no package. Amazon reimbursed us, but didn't mention over all that waiting time that the product wasn't actually coming. It's not amazon selling products; it seems like amazon lets anyone sell under their name. Been scammed twice now by amazon and they even allowed the seller, of one of the products we bought, to delete our review by reposting the very same product at a higher price.
This happen to me couple of times. When I order an item on amazon and it say it is delivered but my package never came until 2 to 3 days later. My guess is USPS worker got lazy and didn't deliver the package until the regular carrier guy comes to deliver it.
@@MoneyBeGreenMf I use the amazon app and chat with them. They say ok, no problem and resend the items. It was easy. You do need to tell them the ORDER #. They will ask you about that. Just tell them you never received it. Also, we have prime. Not sure does that help. shrug.

It also appears that there are fraudulent vendors on etsy, that for some reason, intentionally mail something to the wrong address in order to claim delivery of a product they never intended to send.
I ordered something from Mercari and Fedex was shipping it and marked it as delivered. I went to check my porch and nothing. I checked my tracking again and sure enough it said delivered on doorstep. I let my seller know but the next day fedex actually delivered it. I felt like a scammer when I contacted the seller even though I knew the thing wasn't there.

For some reason where I live Amazon drivers frequently deliver items to the wrong address on my street and in one instance some one said they found our packages in a bush.
Few days ago an order from Amazon was marked as out for delivery at 11:00pm on Sunday and delivered ad 1:20am on Monday. So the fault is on me because I trusted the seller and paid in advance.
What if you did not get it. Postal service makes mistakes. Amazon makes it right if not delivered but etsy if says delivered you are sos if you don't get it!

Stuff like this sucks. I had something that was marked as delivered & it was a pain, but it eventually showed up. I didn't try to go to the seller and try to get a replacement, I went to fedex and filed a claim. It took a few days but they found it. I've only had this issue with fedex. It seems their drivers will scan something and just leave it on the truck for the next guy to find.

But this is a small handmade business and can not eat the cost of people claiming the items aren't there tracking clearly says delivered. Other companies usually won't replace if there is proof of delivery why should a small business do that.
Hello I have a problem with an ebay seller here in the uk. a parcel marked as delivered by a courier hermes but i have no parcel marked as delivered to letter box. The parcel is a 23cm wide pipe it will not fit in any letter box. I opened a case but because the seller can show the tracking as delivered ebay has closed my case just minutes after my conversation with ebay on the phone. I am furious over this. I was in most of the day and no card was left. My local courier told me on the phone a 3rd party courier was used over the Christmas busy period and she has had some complaints . So ebay has scammed me out of my item and my money. The seller is a private seller who refuses to sort this out I know hermes the courier company offer £20 insurance he can claim on but he will not do this. I paid for postage as well. What do you suggest its not a lot of money but its the principle. I could consider reporting this to the police and making a small court claim but its not really worth it what would you advise. ?

I live in Derbyshire in the UK, I also purchased an item which was never delivered. I contacted the seller who never responded, then ebay took up my complaint and closed the case without refunding me as they sided with the seller. I'm now awaiting another item that's not been delivered and just hoping it will be delivered late bcoz I know if i contact ebay they will also side up with the seller and I will be £40 out of pocket from both of these items. Come on ebay we're mostley hard working people and are not all scammers. I will never buy anything online again if I don't get a replacement or my money returned.

It's already been on the news that USPS workers are sometimes TOLD by their bosses at to scan the packages as delivered!!!!! This is causing a huge problem!! Sure, sometimes a buyer may lie about not receiving their package but its already been proven that this is mostly a USPS problem!!

Hello what about first class international shipping where the tracking number is tracked but you hardly ever see a delivered package on the scan. I sold an item June 22nd it shows that I dropped it off and post office it showed that it was delivered to Germany but not to the customer yet customer indicates have not received it and I recently had to refund money in.
Q R code scanning printing /purchased labels through eBay and QR code scanned at post office.That tracking number shows item was delivered then your covered through eBay.
I actually feel that this is horrible customer service. As a person who shops online regularly, there are always hiccups that occur because USPS makes mistakes. I’ve even had a neighbor bring me a package (might I mention it was opened) that the carrier delivered to the incorrect address. I’ve even installed a RING camera because this has been the case. Better advice would be to pay for insurance so that USPS can refund when incidents occur.
Oh I have issues as a buyer just now. They're sending back the item for no reason. Nobody called me, nobody told me what was the issue. So I'm gonna call the DPD tomorrow...I have to tell you, it's not always a scam, maybe something really went wrong. It's not the sellers, or the buyers fault, delivery problems. There are sellers who add custom stickers that are not commonly on packages the postal workers deliver. I heard that usps actually takes pictures of the packages so having an identifying sticker on it can prove that it was delivered at least to the mailbox or local post office. Im not sure how true this is but I have received few of these packages with some stickers like these and I looked up why and thats what I've read. Can anyone verify this?

I have read that credit card companies and Paypal require that the item shows as delivered, even to international addresses. If not there could be a chargeback, or a forced refund. Hi...1% here. I've had no show packages happen three times in the last year. Only once was it "shows delivered but not received". That one was a $700, 140lb electric bed frame in giant box. I'm quite sure it 's not under a bush. Lol! The only common denominator for me was Fed-EX. In my area they are struggling to recover from pandemic mode. It's sad you have to implement a no replacement policy in your business but this is the new world we live in.
This just happened to me today. The driver took a picture of the packge at 3:40 pm I was home by 5:30 pm. It was delivered by Amazon I suspect the Amazon delvery driver took it.
Practically everyone has surveillance cameras on their porch or inside their Lobby, if it's an apartment, so they should be able to check or have the surveillance camera checked. If it's a priority package, I would inform the buyer that I'm going to file an insurance claim and then do it. If enough people file an insurance claim of a slew of missing packages sent to a particular address, USPS may become suspicious. They have an incentive not to lose money to scammers.
What about USPS fraud. Couriers steal packages too. There is a plethora of issues that can happen during transit and these are issues nobody wants to take accountability for. It’s unfortunate that buyers are the ones sending physical payments and still have the least protection in this process. I am an international buyer located in Canada and this is always one of my biggest worries.

most of these "missing" deliveries are due to thieves and incompetence the more i look at this problem the less confidence i have in any of them , and buy local if at all possible even if it costs more.
I've had this happen multiple times. Sellers never believe me and I gave up on etsy because sellers are so petty about it. I live in a high theft area and I emailed this directly prior to purchase, yet they STILL don't believe me. Etsy doesn't care and doesn't have any theft insurance or customer service to speak of, so refunds are not an option. The only solution is to NEVER buy in etsy. You shop at your own risk.
Lol well that's what doing a chargeback on your credit or debit cards is for. This issue recently happened to me the seller didn't even contact me and I lost money and my package. USPS, FEDEX AND UPS...are not freaking delivering to the correct addresses or delivering at all. Maybe instead of ASSUMING THE FREAKING CUSTOMER IS A SCAMMER, ASSUME THE SHIPPING COMPANY DIDN'T DELIVER.
The shippers also run this scam. They provide fake tracking tommark it as delivered so sorry but you could be doing the same thing. Maybe whoever handles your shipping is doing it.

I'll buy high dollar merchandise right from a store even if it costs a little more, at least I'll have it and the thieves won't get my merchandise and money. Same way UPS does-- they scan it as delivered but keep it instead. It's actually common where I live. After a while they can figure out if there's something valuable in a package. It's so bad here they have to lock veteran prescriptions and we have to pick them up in person.

Yes, it sucks that buyers like you may run into situations where you don't get your packages delivered, and she has explained quite well on any steps that buyers can take find out where their packages are if it's marked "Delivered" but not received (I am assuming this is the specific issue you are talking about). It is also the buyer's responsibility to look into the issue with their packages if it is marked "Delivered" and investigate themselves. Once the seller has done his/her job and due diligence with shipping the package, it is now the postal services' responsibility. Sellers do get scammed and they are also eating unnecessary losses for these in the name of "good customer service". Bad apples ruin it for everyone.

If the postal service marks a package as delivered but you didn't receive your item, take it up with the delivery company (USPS, Fedex, UPS etc.). At the very least they will be alerted to drivers who may be being dishonest and stealing / losing packages and marking them delivered. You may also qualify for a refund if the package carries insurance (often the case with UPS and Fedex).

I never received my package. On the FedEx tracking site it said it was "out for delivery at 2:31pm" from a city about an hour and a half away.
Then instantly, also at 2:31pm it said it was delivered to my house. Which I was at during the time. No delivery. No package. Yet it's marked delivered.

It feels like any company that doesn't have any systems in place in order to prove or disprove packages being delivered or not is just poor business practice because if you haven't and you have no way to tell then imagine how bad it looks as a company to deny a legitimate complaint from a customer who has been scammed. Companies need systems in place to prevent them from inadvertently scamming legitimate customers, just my take on it but seems like common sense from my point of view

The trouble there is that in some cases the package gets delivered, but it gets stolen from the buyer’s doorstep while they’re at work. Personally I try to protect myself from these porch pirates as best as I can by choosing click and collect where possible so I can collect my package from a nearby shop on my way to the gym or from an Amazon locker at the petrol station when I fill up my car on the way home from work.
USPS constantly mark items as delivered when they didn't and sometimes take up to 1 month to actually do the delivery (if they didn't lose the package). I agree that they might have it at the postal office, but why do I have to go do their job if I paid for full delivery?

Dude didn’t even package the product and slammed me via messages calling me a would be thief when he was probably baked packing pipes into packages and forgot one, I asked him what to do and he started calling me a small business killer and a penny pinching thief when all I wanted was something I fucking paid for. So I have this problem in my town where my actual house number is repeated four times in one block. My street is a loop and the street name changes halfway around, and at that spot the numbers start counting back down. There are another two instances of my address number on the other side of the main road coming into my neighborhood, but I'd say 90% of the time that I don't get a package, it's because it's been delivered to the other duplicate number on the other end of my street. The problem is that the people who live there aren't very friendly, so I'm never certain if they just kept my package or not. It's a royal pain.

Waited over 2 months for my product from amazon and finally the "shipped" notice came up. Went to post office to get package and no package. Waited another week and still no package. Amazon reimbursed us, but didn't mention over all that waiting time that the product wasn't actually coming. It's not amazon selling products; it seems like amazon lets anyone sell under their name. Been scammed twice now by amazon and they even allowed the seller, of one of the products we bought, to delete our review by reposting the very same product at a higher price.
This happen to me couple of times. When I order an item on amazon and it say it is delivered but my package never came until 2 to 3 days later. My guess is USPS worker got lazy and didn't deliver the package until the regular carrier guy comes to deliver it.

I ordered something from Mercari and Fedex was shipping it and marked it as delivered. I went to check my porch and nothing. I checked my tracking again and sure enough it said delivered on doorstep. I let my seller know but the next day fedex actually delivered it. I felt like a scammer when I contacted the seller even though I knew the thing wasn't there.

For some reason where I live Amazon drivers frequently deliver items to the wrong address on my street and in one instance some one said they found our packages in a bush.
Few days ago an order from Amazon was marked as out for delivery at 11:00pm on Sunday and delivered ad 1:20am on Monday. So the fault is on me because I trusted the seller and paid in advance.

Stuff like this sucks. I had something that was marked as delivered & it was a pain, but it eventually showed up. I didn't try to go to the seller and try to get a replacement, I went to fedex and filed a claim. It took a few days but they found it. I've only had this issue with fedex. It seems their drivers will scan something and just leave it on the truck for the next guy to find.

Poor customer service leads to closing business a better idea would be to have your delivery carrier confirm by photo or video the delivery.
But this is a small handmade business and can not eat the cost of people claiming the items aren't there tracking clearly says delivered. Other companies usually won't replace if there is proof of delivery why should a small business do that.
I've had 2 instances where the photo was not my front door, so if there is an investigation that's added proof.
Hello I have a problem with an ebay seller here in the uk. a parcel marked as delivered by a courier hermes but i have no parcel marked as delivered to letter box. The parcel is a 23cm wide pipe it will not fit in any letter box. I opened a case but because the seller can show the tracking as delivered ebay has closed my case just minutes after my conversation with ebay on the phone. I am furious over this. I was in most of the day and no card was left. My local courier told me on the phone a 3rd party courier was used over the Christmas busy period and she has had some complaints . So ebay has scammed me out of my item and my money. The seller is a private seller who refuses to sort this out I know hermes the courier company offer £20 insurance he can claim on but he will not do this. I paid for postage as well. What do you suggest its not a lot of money but its the principle. I could consider reporting this to the police and making a small court claim but its not really worth it what would you advise. ?

Hello what about first class international shipping where the tracking number is tracked but you hardly ever see a delivered package on the scan. I sold an item June 22nd it shows that I dropped it off and post office it showed that it was delivered to Germany but not to the customer yet customer indicates have not received it and I recently had to refund money in.

I actually feel that this is horrible customer service. As a person who shops online regularly, there are always hiccups that occur because USPS makes mistakes. I’ve even had a neighbor bring me a package (might I mention it was opened) that the carrier delivered to the incorrect address. I’ve even installed a RING camera because this has been the case. Better advice would be to pay for insurance so that USPS can refund when incidents occur.

There are sellers who add custom stickers that are not commonly on packages the postal workers deliver. I heard that usps actually takes pictures of the packages so having an identifying sticker on it can prove that it was delivered at least to the mailbox or local post office. Im not sure how true this is but I have received few of these packages with some stickers like these and I looked up why and thats what I've read. Can anyone verify this?

I hear your point on customs and I'm glad to see Etsy backing you on these cases. I have read that credit card companies and Paypal require that the item shows as delivered, even to international addresses. If not there could be a chargeback, or a forced refund. Have you come across this issue at all, and wonder how Etsy would view that. Thanks!!

Hi...1% here. I've had no show packages happen three times in the last year. Only once was it "shows delivered but not received". That one was a $700, 140lb electric bed frame in giant box.
I'm quite sure it 's not under a bush. Lol! The only common denominator for me was Fed-EX. In my area they are struggling to recover from pandemic mode. It's sad you have to implement a no replacement policy in your business but this is the new world we live in.

This just happened to me today. The driver took a picture of the packge at 3:40 pm I was home by 5:30 pm. It was delivered by Amazon I suspect the Amazon delvery driver took it.
Practically everyone has surveillance cameras on their porch or inside their Lobby, if it's an apartment, so they should be able to check or have the surveillance camera checked.
If it's a priority package, I would inform the buyer that I'm going to file an insurance claim and then do it.
If enough people file an insurance claim of a slew of missing packages sent to a particular address, USPS may become suspicious. They have an incentive not to lose money to scammers.

What about USPS fraud. Couriers steal packages too. There is a plethora of issues that can happen during transit and these are issues nobody wants to take accountability for. It’s unfortunate that buyers are the ones sending physical payments and still have the least protection in this process. I am an international buyer located in Canada and this is always one of my biggest worries.

Since I shipped, I told them item is out of my hand, but I also took time to figure out what they can do, such as intercepting the address. I checked the package eligibility for this service, took photo and send them saying that if they act now they can reroute it. One did not even replied other said it will arrive a friends house, so it is ok..Is this also a scam? The item for second customer does not update tracking, so i am not sure what to believe!

most of these "missing" deliveries are due to thieves and incompetence the more i look at this problem the less confidence i have in any of them , and buy local if at all possible even if it costs more.
I've had this happen multiple times. Sellers never believe me and I gave up on etsy because sellers are so petty about it. I live in a high theft area and I emailed this directly prior to purchase, yet they STILL don't believe me. Etsy doesn't care and doesn't have any theft insurance or customer service to speak of, so refunds are not an option. The only solution is to NEVER buy in etsy. You shop at your own risk.
Lol well that's what doing a chargeback on your credit or debit cards is for. This issue recently happened to me the seller didn't even contact me and I lost money and my package. USPS, FEDEX AND UPS...are not freaking delivering to the correct addresses or delivering at all. The shippers also run this scam. They provide fake tracking tommark it as delivered so sorry but you could be doing the same thing. Maybe whoever handles your shipping is doing it.

I see this is from the suppliers point of view - and it’s a game of numbers. It’s a terrible situation from the scammed customers experience when that item is actually not delivered. I suppose it makes you feel good saying the stupid customer didn’t look on the porch or check w/ his neighbors.
How are they scammed from the seller if it says delivered though?
