Barbour wins hands down for me. It is just so distinctive and classy, if I can put it that way. But then I'm biased - I own a couple of their jackets and I just love their understand style.

They do with the vest for sure. I just wish their jacket arm length was longer like Belstaff. I think I want want the Barbour international motorcycle jacket.

The shorter arm length of the Barbour derives from its heritage as a country sports gun jacket, so as not to get in the way of double-barrelled shotguns. @@derekdoeschannel

@@AntPDC Makes sense, but I'd still prefer a sleeve that covers my arms as I'm not always out shooting game birds...

Thanks for the cool video! I really like both brands but the rugged durable, and 'made for life' quality that Barbour stands for really pulls me in. Belstaff has almost become a luxury brand at this point IMO.

I'd have to agree. I like the Barbour better, although I'd love a vintage Belstaff back when they were English.

Thank you for this. Finally able to get the leather trialmaster and was thinking about getting the gillet for it.

Thanks for watching! I think it's worth picking up if you have the Trialmaster. Give a bit more warmth!

I tried the leather ‘’Trailmaster’’ with the gilet and found it really tight as the leather jackets made by Belstaff are small in size especially across the shoulders.
The wax cotton ‘’Trailmaster’’ fits really well and the Barbour Bedale, even better. I have those as well so I speak from experience.

    Like the pockets

I do too. The wax jackets are very similar

    I have them both.
I own various Barbours and an original Belstaff ‘’Trialmaster’’ in black as well but I feel the gilts are overpriced.
I live in Europe where it does not get very cold but the gilet ( of any brand…) comes in handy on cold mornings.
One can do better and save money looking elsewhere!
    Good review nevertheless

I totally agree they're both over priced, especially the Belstaff line. Thanks!

@@derekdoeschannel Supply and demand is the reason and aggressive marketing.
I was in high end sales for 22 years. Ridiculous how things have gone belly up!

Might be unusual but does the Barbour gilet fit to snap on to the belstaff trialmaster?

I don’t know if they do, I don’t have a jacket to test it
