For those not in the loop. This tank now sits at 10.0 and was also given the M900 APFSDS round 🎉

Lack of armor, gun depression, gun elevation, bad reload speed, and no access to M900 with a high profile silhouette is the most hilarious combination I've ever seen in War Thunder. The fact that this thing sits at 9.7 is beyond laughable considering the rooikat which has the same caliber as the wolfpack, sits a whole BR lower and does everything better (has access to DM33, faster reload speed, higher power to weight ratio, and perfect gun depression/elevation (-10/20))
Rooikat has no thermals and you know how handicapped top tier players are

This would be a dope premium if US had any other 9.7 vehicles to play it with. Granted BRs kinda just start melding towards the top you’re either bringing yourself up to 10.0 or bringing 9.0/3s into battle.

I played both the AGS and M1128 when the latter was still in the tech tree. The AGS is definitely superior. So glad I held onto it
they added back the normal m1128 to the tech tree now! Also, how long did it take for you to get the ags during the event?
@@CarpetEater It was during operation winter in 2021. This was back when the tasks were interesting and not a mindless grind like now. Needed 10 stars which took like 10 days with a couple of hours per day

You'd be surprised how many Khrizantema shots get nullified by the M1128's slat armor, just needs to hit a wrong angel and no pen
Thanks for the review. I am thinking about it, it was the only premium which cought my eye this update.
I will wait either for sale or if they announce they will discontinue it. Whichever comes sooner.

I think the only reason this thing is not 9.3 like the XM-1 is cuz of the gen 3 thermals, otherwise it has a similar combat value, and playstyle. But as far premium armored cars go, I think i prefer the VRCC or even the WMA301 over this, and even the Type 16 from the tech-tree. (but i used leftover GE + what i got from the pack sale to buy it, another premium i brought just for its looks)
The wiesel 1a4 has gen 3 thermals and is 7.7, so thermals are not the reason for its BR
as of now, it has M900
Just bought this today and I love it. I use the XM-1 (Chrysler), the Wolfpack, A2D premium, AH-64 Peten, and F-105D. On paper a really crappy line up but in my opinion the funnest. I love the sounds of all these vehicles, how they drive/fly, looks, and all are premium except the 105. My favorite is flying the Peten and 105D. Pretty challenging on my Xbox controller, especially since I use sim controls, it's an absolute blast. Great review on the Wolfpack though. Now I understand it's strengths and weaknesses much much better.

I kind of wish the Wolfpack would get M900 and moved up to 10.0 since it has a far better line-up available there.

This shows how ridiculous this game is in terms of "realistic". The slat armor does actually work in the real world against heat threats like the RPG specific rounds and the like. Game players would rather have the "cool looking" camouflage!
The game is not realistic because we have World War II tanks fighting Cold War stuff. Each tank has an authentic model and accurately represents the modules layout and functions of real life
It does work against HEAT rounds and or non tandem charge warheads.
RPGs moving at a couple hundred feet per second. Not 120mm heat rounds fired at a few thousand feet per second. The cages were designed to stop RPGs not tank rounds.
@@FXIIBeaver The speed of the parent round doesn't matter, considering the copper plug is going 5-6 miles per second.

you just forgot to mention that there is no BR9.7 lineup. So its effectivly BR 10.0. So not even close to be worth of it
I don't think it should receive M900 but instead it should be lowered to 9.3
When ever i fight the Leppard 2A4 in the Wolfpack I win with no crew lost. ( bad premium players and mediocre in tree players)

Simple answer; No. Access to M900 makes the TT variant superior by default.

@Obsidian Jane i wasnt talking about different APFDS but the fact that theres many different kinds of discarding sabot shells, some with explosives, some are kenetic, others are composite rigid.
Thats all, i get your point though & you are correct in that they are all ultimately just sabot shells. Anyways hope that cleared up my statement a bit.
