The strong part of top tier Russia is the ability of a second even third push. Allied MBTs just don’t exist anymore while Russian teams can bring out consistent firepower and armor.
US has 3 competitive abrams Ger has 3 competitive leopards France has 3 leclercs USSR has 4 competitive tanks, but the T-90A is barely competitive. And odds are you won’t get enough SP to spawn in 3 MBTs. . There are a few reasons that top tier USSR is strong (CAS, it’s just CAS) and it’s not the fact they have 4, soon to be 5 viable backup MBTs. Spawn points and crew slots make that not an issue

the most recent broken Russia experience I had was a t8bvm casually not dying from 3 maverick missiles. which I launched at the same time bc I figured the era would stop one of em but all 3 I don't even know how man. I checked in the replay and the second 2 did pen but only killed the driver bc magic spall and overpressure proof armor.
For some stupid reason the AGM-65 lacks overpressure mechanics in the game. It should functionally kill everything short of a small ship in one hit due to having the explosive mass of a 250 pound bomb and high hit probability.

I really like spookston but I feel he attributes things to "russian bias" that are commonly stupid and inconsistent in the game. One example is what you said, it always happens with those US light tanks. Another is helis surviving stupid shit sometimes (Ka-52 is after all a coaxial rotor heli and it would make sense if it would keep some forward momentum if both rotors are intact). And so on and so forth. Not that ussr to tier isn't stupid powerful atm, nor that the Ka-50/52 isn't cancerous. But there are reasons for that, adding to that with circumstantial evidence just ruins your case imo and it makes commieboos even more relentless about their positions

@@CetoFreakingKaiba I watched a video of an Abram's shooting apfsds at a container and you can see the energy in dispersed into it and the amount of shrapnel that it created, no heli should survive a shot from a tank or a anti air missile. Also the ricochet problem happens with all tanks because of how gaijin calculates penetration, if you hit directly perpendicular to a plate it will not penetrate. And finally, the t80bvm is completely broken and the other t80's are almost as broken as someone found in the hidden stats that the t80's do not create any secondary fragmentation from internal components unlike any other tank in the game and its side era will eat top tier apfsds regularly.

Yes ricochet problem is common for many vehicles but (from my experience at least) seems more noticeable with light tanks with extreme angles. And yes, the BVM is completely op and an addition that was totally not needed for the russians. Arguably the T72B3 is the same, though it also kinda suffers from regular T72 issues. I disagree with nothing you said, I totally agree in fact. My issue is when there is an implication that those are issues that specifically favor ussr vehicles, while they are idiotic inconsistencies that can be found everywhere in the game.

I don't disagree with any of your points, or most of his really, but as I already said, implying that some game problems favor ussr specifically is unfair. Yes, ammo should fucking explode, when you hit it, there is no question about that. But it definitely isn't only the russian helis that get completely wrecked and keep flying to gather more kills. It's just that more players play russian helis in this cancerous manner, at least at top tier (for various reasons). Many could argue that US has by far the most cancerous cas. This is in part true as they have the largest variety of aircraft, but the popularity of those aircraft should also be considered to explain the spam.

They need to remove the count down to auto eject or bring it way down. It was an issue with planes but it's worse with helicopters. You get ten seconds to do what? Suicide bomb somebody? It's not like you can do anything else with it. A dead aircraft needs to either be ejected so everybody can't play like suicidal maniacs or bring it down to two or three seconds. I wouldn't mind the occasional trade. But I hate seeing a plane take a ninety degree turn straight for me because I just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Its so clear there is. The moment theres a vehicle that cant be actively measured in a Museum, Gaijjin makes it ridiculously OP. Look at the T-55AMD-1 active protection system. In reality, there are multiple reports of the APS being jammed by simple ground clutter. Theres even reports of the APS being ineffective, if theres MOUNTAINS nearby. The APS needs multiple seconds of tracking to actually produce a firing solution aswell. APS should not be activating on top attack missiles either, since it purposely does not activate on missiles thats ballistic path does not intercept the actual tank.

The way I have always seen top tier is just copy pasted vehicles with different designations and maybe some slight internal differences. I have yet to see any upgrade packages for the Abrams line (like TUSK) in the form of modifications rather than whole new vehicles.
They still need to 6 different versions of the Abrams. Half of them being variants of thr m1a2 but they still have more verity than most copy paste Russian tanks.

I feel like the consistent rapid spawning of russian tanks is pretty solved in Arcade battles because every nation no matter how well you do you can only spawn a total of three times.
Cas problems are also solved too. Since aircraft and helicopters can only stay around for about a minute before they return to base. Implementing that into GRB would be awesome. People still get to use their own selection of aircraft but they can't just linger around in the sky forever like so many helicopters do.
@@giulio7853 That's true, but in GRB or sim right now, CAS can loiter or go back to base and rearm/refuel. In GAB, if the enemy choose to start air battle, some of the other team can get in planes too, if they have the points.
About that HSTV-L: I once had a scenario where I had my 122 soviet gigacannon, shot a tiger1 straight in the unangled, flat mantlet, I shit you not, the bullet ricoched in a 90° angle off nothing. It just hit, then moved sideways and left. Needless to say I died instantly ofc because he bounced a shot on my front glacis, under my barrel and back through the breech directly into my turret. I shit you not the logic is dumb of this game. Oh yeah and when playing the ikv91 I had a Heat shell (aka instaexplodes on contact) Ricochet off a barrel I hit directly. This game is dumb

I hate the fucking fact that the Mi4V has ATGMs at the same BR as the AH1G. Sure the Mi4V is slow as shit, but that doesnt matter if your in a heli. YOUR NOT A FUCKING AIRPLANE. You hover behind terrain, fire an ATGM, and then switch spots. Its simple. But instead, you see braindead Russia/Germany mains treat it like a Stuka, and rush spawn openly with very little altitude with zero cover, only to die instantly to a Gepard or a VEAK. The Hind is at 8.7, has ballistic computers for its rockets, and has ATGMs ontop of that. Yet you see these mfs do the same fucking thing, and never use the heli as intended.

I've always been a defender of CAS in ground RB, but I've started to realize that there is no way to implement it without it being completely broken. Removing all CAS from Ground RB would actually fix a lot of other problems the game has, since the existence of CAS completely changes how people act. For example, wouldn't you feel much more confident poking your head out if you knew that there weren't helicopters and jets scanning every centimeter of dirt for every little hint of movement, waiting to one shot anyone they see?
CAS is fine, the issue is the lack of reliable ways to kill it. The best way to balance CAS would be to force cockpit view. Because right now, if you use radar-relying SPAA the enemy knows you're there, and you can either lock onto them and give away that you are about to launch a missile at them, or not lock them, and hope to god you can keep the reticle on them without assistance as soon as they see the missile shot from below them and start doing a dance in the air. And if you use Ozelot or other IR SPAA the guy in a plane can just look around and see the missile even if it's launched from directly behind him, completely destroying literally the only advantage these missiles have, which is not giving any launch warnings
Honestly, if CAS with afterburners wouldn't get an airspawn, it would be much more bearable, since fast jets can basically disappear from radar sight in less than 5 seconds after spawning just by pointing their nose up. Edit: Oh, and also if they fixed helis' IR signature, Russian helis would be less of a headache too since many LAV-ADs and other vehicles with Stingers or similar missiles drive around every match, and only being able to lock on them under 2.5 - 3km is pretty useless for toptier helis, only for strafers.
And it will be more balanced in the future with the new T80 variant and SU25. Man i started grinding italian tech tree and its gonna be more painful now.
@@fred3965 The Chally and Ariete are pretty bad but all other MBTs are competitive you just need to play them to their strength's. Russian and Chinese tanks are good for rushing and frontline combat but there is nothing you can do to a hulldown Leopard, the Abrams is a good all-rounder that can survive a few penetrating hits, Type-10 is an excellent flanker, Merkava Mk4M is another good sniper with APS and the Strv-122 is an objectively better Leopard that is almost impossible to one shoot from the front. The problem is most players are terrible and only know how to press W which has a better chance to work in USSR plus it doesn't help that allied teams are full one death leavers.
any time i play leo 2a6 or 2a5 the first thing that hit me either kills my commander and loader or the breach. then my reload goes up to like 10 seconds while russian autoloader keeps slinging the shots after I do no damage to his turret like nothing

I have shot a BVM in my leopard 2a5 using dm 53, 3 times in the lower front plate , all shots penned but they only got absorbed by fuel tanks, and only put the driver in yellow, this dumbass now turns and completely exposes his side , so I shot him an additional 4 TIMES IN THE SIDE, all of the shots went straight through the tank not detonating the ammo carousel, and he was able to retreat and repair. ..never once had it taken more more than 2 penning shots to kill a nato tank, but in regular occasion (even when aiming for the weakspots) russian tanks survive 2+ shots getting penned. russian tanks are inconsistent tanks that take almost zero skill to play compared to nato tanks.
It's always fun trying to see how ridiculous big you can make a top tier deck be like and it always ends up being Russia. After the update, you can make a full deck 11.0 with 5 MBTs 3 Light Tanks 1-2 SPAA 3-4 Attack Jets 2-3 Helis Maybe 2-3 Fighers ? And still have plenty to spare. Tbf the only 11.0 ground nation I got IS Russia, but that's way too mcuh stuff lol

Since the Ka-52 is a compound helicopter it should not seed its tail to prevent it from spinning out of control. However, it must be there for a reason so I imagine it is what allows the Ka-52 to steer.
The KA-52 has a tail for stability during high speeds. Without it, the helicopter would start flailing around and be unstable at speeds higher than 65kmh. If we were to follow Gaijjins logic with past nations, the repair cost on KA-52's should be incredibly high, and any shot remotely near the swashplate should result in instant loss. Purely because of how unreliable and needlessly complex the rotor system is. The US considers a 20% failure rate to be unacceptable. Russia considers a 20% failure rate to be a personal record on reliability. Its why Russia fielded active protection systems on its tanks in the 80s, even though in reality they wouldnt even work outside lab conditions, and the radar would get jammed even when theres a fucking mountain nearby, all while needing multiple seconds of tracking the projectile to even produce a firing solution. Meanwhile the M163 has a beyond faulty radar that never locks on even when directly staring at an aircraft, for "realism"
All helicopter flight models and damage models are stupid, the Ka-50/52 are just the most broken. Not only are they missing hitboxes for the rotor blades, swashplate, 'jesus nut' (yes that is a technical term), but the fire control and flight control computers+ optics and laser emitters are absent from the model. Without those, almost all high BR choppers are completely defanged.
All Russian main's main excuse for Russian op BVM is that NATO tanks can reverse faster.. Meanwhile the BVM does a 360 degree turn in less than a second and get outs of almost any situation instantly, while most NATO tanks get their engines and crew knocked out from the first hit anywhere on the hull.
NATO NERA armour is subpar irl tbh it performs better to some extent than Russian armour against HEAT though I believe at least until ERA is included and even then Russian armour is still decent against HEAT just when looking at it's base protection

Russian winrates are booming rn (they've been booming since start of this year rly) so wallet warriors are gonna spend their money on premiums and squadron vehicles. There is a logic of adding so many vehicles you have to grind through to reach top tier that in a way you nerf the tech tree because half the players quit trying to make their way through half of it
I love how they gave the BMP-2M prototype APSFDS ammo, more penetration than the Modern PUMA IFV. Despite the fact it was never made, but also years ago. What bugs me about it is they claim they want game balance and realism; but the BMP-2M’s fire rate is also ridiculous. They never fixed the issue with the PUMA’s fires unable to be extinguished either, despite claiming so. So I have to sit there and lose a crew member each time it happens; even with the turret turned to the side. Other issues I despise fighting against russia for is all the ERA/Relikt, that soaks up hits in the most bullshit of ways. The fact that their Helicopter damage models, after being hit with a 120mm Tank round. The sheer kinetic shockwave and force would rip the plane apart, but nah. I like the game sometimes, but my god it makes me want to suckstart a shotgun whenever I deal with Russia as an enemy. If they are ever on my team, feels like I am dealing with brainlets and holding the hands of children.

I was playing the 3.7/4.0 Swedish 75mm weird ass bobblehead tank destroyer, and I cannot stress the amount of times I shot at a Russian tank only to hit some random 1.5cm by 1.5cm square in the XRAY view and have that eat 100% of my spall so I do 0 damage I'm shit at the game, so maybe Spookston could help me learn by playing the trash that is low tier Sweden (4.0 and below)
Thats a you problem lmao. Nobody is talking about 4.0 tanks here. The T-34s are fine and balanced. Those spots are everywhere on every tank, in this game machineguns and optics are voids that suck up shells.

T-34s are notorious for driver ports that eat shots for breakfast, also solid shots in general are unreliable. You either devastate te inside or it turns crews into The Simpsons. No inbetween. Also, *don't* play Sweden low ranks above reserve. Just stay with reserve APDS bois if you want to keep having fun.

They have magic spall liners on vehicles, several of which I'm fairly certain didn't have them, and extremely over-performing ERA. If these were equalized a bit better I don't think it would that bad, but frequently a russian tank will survive what should be a straight ammo detonation. Like, you can SEE on the hit cam the ammo turn black and fizzle away meaning it blew up, but does nothing.

I'm at 9.3 russia right now and the tanks are great, the teams- not so much. I don't know what is it with my teams, but I almost always lose. I find myself fighting 3 enemies at a time while trying to hold a point, while most of my team has just left. But if at least half of my team is competent we always crush the enemy team. I may sound like an asshole for blaming my team, but it's my experience.
9.0-10.0 russia is the worst And its no because the lack of thermals ir mobility its because the Turms players I enjoyed the T-72/T-64B But i managed to stop playing whit WT like 3 months ago and its feels good

So... I hate to admit it but... The ERA on the side of that damn tank eats Sabot like crazy... The Ka-50 gets spammed to no end, and its ATGMs are insanely powerful and fast The Mig-27 has 4x laser guided ATGMs that are some of the best Anti-Tank weapons in the game Tunguska has great guns and decent Missiles. Main pro is the radar. I honestly have to agree that the russian lineup is insane. When it comes to top tier tanks, I'm pretty much just US. So as a comparison, the us has: Very survivable and fast HSTVL Hellfires are shit, sorry guys... A tank in a forest or city is immune to them due to the laser guidance and travel time. F-14 for CAP and several great options for ground striking... but none of them are laser guided. They're mostly TV guided which is useless at night and don't usually lock targets above 1.5km distance. ADATS has great anti-tank capabilities as long as it doesn't get spotted. But without being able to lock a target spotted on radar (manual lock only is trash for awareness) the Tunguska is a better AA. Russia is op?
Of course Russia has to be the best because if it isn't then Stalin will rise from his tomb and bring a terrible vengeance on Russia. So Gaijin lulls him to sleep with lots of top tiers, overpowered vehicles, and Russian bias
You can also be blessed by Stalin himself with a special metal known as "Stalinium". To achieve that you have to play any russian song on max volume while driving your T-34 or IS-2 while drinking vodka occasionally. The benefits of Stalinium compared to normal metal are that most of enemy shots will straight up bounce off your armor and you will receive +150mm of "invisible" armor everywhere on your tank without adding any weight. Bombs can not kill you as well, and if they land on you they will bounce off to a nearby King Tiger.
Tip for the Mig-27's (this negates any play from ADATS). The strat used by Russia sweats is to climb to space and come 90 degrees straight down onto targets. You both make it hard for their missiles to reach you, and for them to hide from you.
@@prizrak-br3332 The strat does 100% work for TT Jets (and is extremely effective), but I hardly ever see anyone use it (sadly). It seems to be mostly used by Tank RB pilots
The ADATS can't point up very far. The stats on the launchers show like 85 degrees of elevation, but in game you can't look up past the guns elevation limit which is quite a bit less. There's no way to decouple the launchers from the gun to get past this limit so you end up completely unable to deal with aircraft that are coming in from high angles unless you find a steep enough hill in a usable position. edit: spelling

I think an easy solution should be just to increase the br cap to like 15 and this way they could balance not only 11.0 but 7.7 6.3 and 5.3 whit nations like Italy having only a 7.7 lineup at that rank and are forced to play whit tanks like the pt 76 57 or 6.3 and 5.3 which are completely dominated by usa and Germany whit tanks that should not be there like the tiger h1
weak yet very inconsistent, I have even shot dm 53s from the leopard 2a5 in its middle lfp and it only kills the driver or the ammo won't detonate 20 percent of the time.
Your best bet is to disable the gun first; Although, any cannon can just eat even the strongest shells without being destroyed quite often in this stupid game.

@@n8ivspat3n56 If your shell gets swatted by the side of a cannon (like a bat would a baseball) or it touches the edge of the damage model chances are it'll just get sent to the void. Also, cannons act as ERA. You'll notice at some point that even if you have more than enough pen to go through both, say, the mantlet of a tank *and* the cannon angled in front of it YOU WILL NOT PEN the mantlet.
I would be interested to hear what you would say to Strv9040B or the 9040's generally nowadays. Especially as most of them lack missiles and have mediocre everything combined with low ammo.
I'm pretty sure that I'm never going going to reach top tier. Playing for 6 years and I now ran into that problem that I can never buy any new vehicles that I unlock because all the SL that I earn is used on spading the last unlocked vehicle + expert crew. I earn like 20k at most per match and now everything I unlock cost like 400k.
Russian tanks' composite ke armour modifier is 4, NATO tanks is 0.2-0.89. It might be correct and everyone else's is artificially extremely low, or it might be wrong and everyone else's is still artificially low. Either way its bias.
I like Russian armour as a historical observer, but as a gamer, this kind of turns me off of wanting to play the game at all. I will say for the record again that I wish they would retire the BMP-2M from the game and replace it with either a different BMP-2 derivative, or a 57mm armed BMP-3. Would be at least marginally more balanced that way. As for top tier in general, minor tech trees all need their econ fixed. That would be a huge step to nerfing top end Russian power, since it both gives incentive to play other nations, and makes it viable to bring a more full lineup. Only after that can actual vehicle balance be discussed.
As a casual f2p player (rank 5 USSR, rank 4 Germany and USA) I have to say that whenever I feel the need to play something modern I just test-drive some of the high tier premium and if the need is still there I just play something above 7.0 and the need goes away after the first battle because it's just so much worse for me than 6.3-6.7 and below.
For the US and France, 6.0-7.7 is pure torture. Mostly because of German mains. Russia is balanced this tier. But at 8.0-10.0, playing Russia becomes a turkey shoot.

The last part showed the most annoying thing: Russian ERA eating all kinds of rockets without consequences. Like what? No overpressure, era is still intact, nothing. When I use rockets on NATO tanks this never happens.
My entire experience of war thunder in the past like 4 months has been logging on like once a week, playing one or two matches in my chally or 122 or whatever, getting curb stomped by russia, remembering why I dont play top tier ground, and then leaving for another week
In my opinion, all of russia is overpowered, it is the most developed tech tree in the game; And most vehicles outperform all other countries at all BR ratings. Thats been my experience since i started last October.
Yet more reasons I tell new players to just quit early in this game. I'm stuck but if your thinking about trying WT don't. Play GHPC if you want a good tank game, for aircraft play DCS or some other flight sim.
The main imbalance at high tier is advanced air weaponry to me. Most tanks from 10 to 11 have extremely similar performance no matter how much people want to whine but getting to bring 4 atgms is always going to turn a ground RB match more than a phantom with a bunch of dumb bombs and rockets for Japan at top tier or whatever
Like I don't think the Russian vehicles are often better than their counterparts directly but your decks are so strong at so many levels because of the variety of available
now russia have the best anti cas and maybe the best cas because the have the new su25 with 40km range missle i dont care if strv122+ is better than t90 and maybe than t80bvm russia is still broken and i like it as a soviet main : )
i just played a match where 3 Ka-50's spawned in with atgms first spawn within 2 minutes of the game half of my team died and left from the ka-50's . we had 2 adats and i had a OTOMATIC. the ka-50's just tanked like 4 of my AA rounds. both adats died at the spawn and then i died from KA-50 spamming the cannon from like 3km away. then they proceeded to just rocket my team . its so fucking stupid . i dearly hope anyone that plays russia get stuck in a room with spiders for a week and tortured.
my favorite part of top tier gameplay is when a (non-Kamov) helicopter gets its entire tail section shot off but gaijin thinks that they can still fly straight forward indefinitely while guiding their atgm's into your face my other favorite part is when a (Kamov) helicopter gets its tail shot off and that counts it as dead lmao gaijin rly has no idea how helicopters work i swear

The strong part of top tier Russia is the ability of a second even third push. Allied MBTs just don’t exist anymore while Russian teams can bring out consistent firepower and armor.
US has 3 competitive abrams
Ger has 3 competitive leopards
France has 3 leclercs
USSR has 4 competitive tanks, but the T-90A is barely competitive. And odds are you won’t get enough SP to spawn in 3 MBTs.

There are a few reasons that top tier USSR is strong (CAS, it’s just CAS) and it’s not the fact they have 4, soon to be 5 viable backup MBTs. Spawn points and crew slots make that not an issue

the most recent broken Russia experience I had was a t8bvm casually not dying from 3 maverick missiles. which I launched at the same time bc I figured the era would stop one of em but all 3 I don't even know how man. I checked in the replay and the second 2 did pen but only killed the driver bc magic spall and overpressure proof armor.
For some stupid reason the AGM-65 lacks overpressure mechanics in the game. It should functionally kill everything short of a small ship in one hit due to having the explosive mass of a 250 pound bomb and high hit probability.
i'm not an expert but i feel like a missile that can split a frigate in half should probably be able to kill a tank.

I really like spookston but I feel he attributes things to "russian bias" that are commonly stupid and inconsistent in the game. One example is what you said, it always happens with those US light tanks. Another is helis surviving stupid shit sometimes (Ka-52 is after all a coaxial rotor heli and it would make sense if it would keep some forward momentum if both rotors are intact). And so on and so forth. Not that ussr to tier isn't stupid powerful atm, nor that the Ka-50/52 isn't cancerous. But there are reasons for that, adding to that with circumstantial evidence just ruins your case imo and it makes commieboos even more relentless about their positions

@@CetoFreakingKaiba I watched a video of an Abram's shooting apfsds at a container and you can see the energy in dispersed into it and the amount of shrapnel that it created, no heli should survive a shot from a tank or a anti air missile. Also the ricochet problem happens with all tanks because of how gaijin calculates penetration, if you hit directly perpendicular to a plate it will not penetrate. And finally, the t80bvm is completely broken and the other t80's are almost as broken as someone found in the hidden stats that the t80's do not create any secondary fragmentation from internal components unlike any other tank in the game and its side era will eat top tier apfsds regularly.

Yes ricochet problem is common for many vehicles but (from my experience at least) seems more noticeable with light tanks with extreme angles. And yes, the BVM is completely op and an addition that was totally not needed for the russians. Arguably the T72B3 is the same, though it also kinda suffers from regular T72 issues. I disagree with nothing you said, I totally agree in fact. My issue is when there is an implication that those are issues that specifically favor ussr vehicles, while they are idiotic inconsistencies that can be found everywhere in the game.

I don't disagree with any of your points, or most of his really, but as I already said, implying that some game problems favor ussr specifically is unfair. Yes, ammo should fucking explode, when you hit it, there is no question about that. But it definitely isn't only the russian helis that get completely wrecked and keep flying to gather more kills. It's just that more players play russian helis in this cancerous manner, at least at top tier (for various reasons). Many could argue that US has by far the most cancerous cas. This is in part true as they have the largest variety of aircraft, but the popularity of those aircraft should also be considered to explain the spam.
helicopters are so unpredictable and inconsistant. Sometimes they go down in 1 hmg hit, sometimes they can shrug off heat and proceed to full your tank with lead and missiles

They need to remove the count down to auto eject or bring it way down. It was an issue with planes but it's worse with helicopters. You get ten seconds to do what? Suicide bomb somebody? It's not like you can do anything else with it. A dead aircraft needs to either be ejected so everybody can't play like suicidal maniacs or bring it down to two or three seconds. I wouldn't mind the occasional trade. But I hate seeing a plane take a ninety degree turn straight for me because I just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Its only Russian Helis cause the KA-50/52 can still fly with their tail gone cause of the 2 rotors on top.

Look at the T-55AMD-1 active protection system.
In reality, there are multiple reports of the APS being jammed by simple ground clutter.
Theres even reports of the APS being ineffective, if theres MOUNTAINS nearby.
The APS needs multiple seconds of tracking to actually produce a firing solution aswell.
APS should not be activating on top attack missiles either, since it purposely does not activate on missiles thats ballistic path does not intercept the actual tank.

The way I have always seen top tier is just copy pasted vehicles with different designations and maybe some slight internal differences. I have yet to see any upgrade packages for the Abrams line (like TUSK) in the form of modifications rather than whole new vehicles.
They still need to 6 different versions of the Abrams. Half of them being variants of thr m1a2 but they still have more verity than most copy paste Russian tanks.

You forgot to mention that you can have a decently strong line up with purely premium, squadron and event vehicles because they’re all in a relatively close br range
I feel like the consistent rapid spawning of russian tanks is pretty solved in Arcade battles because every nation no matter how well you do you can only spawn a total of three times.
Cas problems are also solved too. Since aircraft and helicopters can only stay around for about a minute before they return to base. Implementing that into GRB would be awesome. People still get to use their own selection of aircraft but they can't just linger around in the sky forever like so many helicopters do.

About that HSTV-L: I once had a scenario where I had my 122 soviet gigacannon, shot a tiger1 straight in the unangled, flat mantlet, I shit you not, the bullet ricoched in a 90° angle off nothing. It just hit, then moved sideways and left. Needless to say I died instantly ofc because he bounced a shot on my front glacis, under my barrel and back through the breech directly into my turret. I shit you not the logic is dumb of this game. Oh yeah and when playing the ikv91 I had a Heat shell (aka instaexplodes on contact) Ricochet off a barrel I hit directly. This game is dumb

You hover behind terrain, fire an ATGM, and then switch spots. Its simple.
But instead, you see braindead Russia/Germany mains treat it like a Stuka, and rush spawn openly with very little altitude with zero cover, only to die instantly to a Gepard or a VEAK.
The Hind is at 8.7, has ballistic computers for its rockets, and has ATGMs ontop of that.
Yet you see these mfs do the same fucking thing, and never use the heli as intended.

I've always been a defender of CAS in ground RB, but I've started to realize that there is no way to implement it without it being completely broken. Removing all CAS from Ground RB would actually fix a lot of other problems the game has, since the existence of CAS completely changes how people act. For example, wouldn't you feel much more confident poking your head out if you knew that there weren't helicopters and jets scanning every centimeter of dirt for every little hint of movement, waiting to one shot anyone they see?
I’d honestly be fine with playing in ARB’s as an AA on the ground, but yeah… CAS just kind of ruins the experience in the matter of a lot of things.
CAS is fine, the issue is the lack of reliable ways to kill it. The best way to balance CAS would be to force cockpit view.
Because right now, if you use radar-relying SPAA the enemy knows you're there, and you can either lock onto them and give away that you are about to launch a missile at them, or not lock them, and hope to god you can keep the reticle on them without assistance as soon as they see the missile shot from below them and start doing a dance in the air.
And if you use Ozelot or other IR SPAA the guy in a plane can just look around and see the missile even if it's launched from directly behind him, completely destroying literally the only advantage these missiles have, which is not giving any launch warnings
Honestly, if CAS with afterburners wouldn't get an airspawn, it would be much more bearable, since fast jets can basically disappear from radar sight in less than 5 seconds after spawning just by pointing their nose up.

Oh, and also if they fixed helis' IR signature, Russian helis would be less of a headache too since many LAV-ADs and other vehicles with Stingers or similar missiles drive around every match, and only being able to lock on them under 2.5 - 3km is pretty useless for toptier helis, only for strafers.

@@fred3965 The Chally and Ariete are pretty bad but all other MBTs are competitive you just need to play them to their strength's. Russian and Chinese tanks are good for rushing and frontline combat but there is nothing you can do to a hulldown Leopard, the Abrams is a good all-rounder that can survive a few penetrating hits, Type-10 is an excellent flanker, Merkava Mk4M is another good sniper with APS and the Strv-122 is an objectively better Leopard that is almost impossible to one shoot from the front. The problem is most players are terrible and only know how to press W which has a better chance to work in USSR plus it doesn't help that allied teams are full one death leavers.
any time i play leo 2a6 or 2a5 the first thing that hit me either kills my commander and loader or the breach. then my reload goes up to like 10 seconds while russian autoloader keeps slinging the shots after I do no damage to his turret like nothing

I have shot a BVM in my leopard 2a5 using dm 53, 3 times in the lower front plate , all shots penned but they only got absorbed by fuel tanks, and only put the driver in yellow, this dumbass now turns and completely exposes his side , so I shot him an additional 4 TIMES IN THE SIDE, all of the shots went straight through the tank not detonating the ammo carousel, and he was able to retreat and repair.
..never once had it taken more more than 2 penning shots to kill a nato tank, but in regular occasion (even when aiming for the weakspots) russian tanks survive 2+ shots getting penned. russian tanks are inconsistent tanks that take almost zero skill to play compared to nato tanks.

@@qualitycontentchannel4443 but the only difference is the Abrams can't survive 7 shots being penned by a DM 53 (yes I shot a T-80BVM 7 fucking times in 2 weakspots, the lower front plate and the side (litteraly a 90 degree angle) every round penned, but the ammo rack didn't detonate, the round refused to spall, I shot Like an inch from the ammo rack and nothing happened, not a single crewman died they were only in red. he was able to back up and repair, I later got an assist on him. if that doesn't prove how broken russian tanks are idk what does. sure russian tanks CAN be easy to kill, but they are so fucking inconsistent, sometimes if you shoot a russian tank in the side it will instantly die (which from my experience is around 20 percent of the time) but other times you shoot it in the exact same spot and it doesn't do shit. that's why russia is such an op nation, there players rely on luck not to die. and even if you get completely out played by your enemy, you can still have bullshit happen and not get killed, especially that you have an anetire team that can cover you and help repair you, russian tanks 50 percent of the time are very hard to actually effectively kill or immobilize.

Since the Ka-52 is a compound helicopter it should not seed its tail to prevent it from spinning out of control. However, it must be there for a reason so I imagine it is what allows the Ka-52 to steer.
I assume it’s there for stability, since otherwise it would probably be rocking around quite a bit.

Without it, the helicopter would start flailing around and be unstable at speeds higher than 65kmh.
If we were to follow Gaijjins logic with past nations, the repair cost on KA-52's should be incredibly high, and any shot remotely near the swashplate should result in instant loss.

Meanwhile the M163 has a beyond faulty radar that never locks on even when directly staring at an aircraft, for "realism"
All helicopter flight models and damage models are stupid, the Ka-50/52 are just the most broken. Not only are they missing hitboxes for the rotor blades, swashplate, 'jesus nut' (yes that is a technical term), but the fire control and flight control computers+ optics and laser emitters are absent from the model. Without those, almost all high BR choppers are completely defanged.

I love how they gave the BMP-2M prototype APSFDS ammo, more penetration than the Modern PUMA IFV. Despite the fact it was never made, but also years ago. What bugs me about it is they claim they want game balance and realism; but the BMP-2M’s fire rate is also ridiculous. They never fixed the issue with the PUMA’s fires unable to be extinguished either, despite claiming so. So I have to sit there and lose a crew member each time it happens; even with the turret turned to the side.
Other issues I despise fighting against russia for is all the ERA/Relikt, that soaks up hits in the most bullshit of ways. The fact that their Helicopter damage models, after being hit with a 120mm Tank round. The sheer kinetic shockwave and force would rip the plane apart, but nah.
I like the game sometimes, but my god it makes me want to suckstart a shotgun whenever I deal with Russia as an enemy. If they are ever on my team, feels like I am dealing with brainlets and holding the hands of children.

I was playing the 3.7/4.0 Swedish 75mm weird ass bobblehead tank destroyer, and I cannot stress the amount of times I shot at a Russian tank only to hit some random 1.5cm by 1.5cm square in the XRAY view and have that eat 100% of my spall so I do 0 damage

They have magic spall liners on vehicles, several of which I'm fairly certain didn't have them, and extremely over-performing ERA. If these were equalized a bit better I don't think it would that bad, but frequently a russian tank will survive what should be a straight ammo detonation. Like, you can SEE on the hit cam the ammo turn black and fizzle away meaning it blew up, but does nothing.

I'm at 9.3 russia right now and the tanks are great, the teams- not so much. I don't know what is it with my teams, but I almost always lose. I find myself fighting 3 enemies at a time while trying to hold a point, while most of my team has just left. But if at least half of my team is competent we always crush the enemy team. I may sound like an asshole for blaming my team, but it's my experience.

When it comes to top tier tanks, I'm pretty much just US. So as a comparison, the us has:
Very survivable and fast HSTVL
Hellfires are shit, sorry guys... A tank in a forest or city is immune to them due to the laser guidance and travel time.
F-14 for CAP and several great options for ground striking... but none of them are laser guided. They're mostly TV guided which is useless at night and don't usually lock targets above 1.5km distance.
ADATS has great anti-tank capabilities as long as it doesn't get spotted. But without being able to lock a target spotted on radar (manual lock only is trash for awareness) the Tunguska is a better AA.

You can also be blessed by Stalin himself with a special metal known as "Stalinium". To achieve that you have to play any russian song on max volume while driving your T-34 or IS-2 while drinking vodka occasionally.
The benefits of Stalinium compared to normal metal are that most of enemy shots will straight up bounce off your armor and you will receive +150mm of "invisible" armor everywhere on your tank without adding any weight.
Bombs can not kill you as well, and if they land on you they will bounce off to a nearby King Tiger.

Tip for the Mig-27's (this negates any play from ADATS). The strat used by Russia sweats is to climb to space and come 90 degrees straight down onto targets. You both make it hard for their missiles to reach you, and for them to hide from you.
This is the strategy for top tier jets, it works with every nation. I don't have russian air but I do that with US and Germany and works 90% of times.

The ADATS can't point up very far. The stats on the launchers show like 85 degrees of elevation, but in game you can't look up past the guns elevation limit which is quite a bit less. There's no way to decouple the launchers from the gun to get past this limit so you end up completely unable to deal with aircraft that are coming in from high angles unless you find a steep enough hill in a usable position.

I found the BVM’s lower plate in front is pretty weak. I’ve used a 105 against it hell I’ve even killed one using the hstvl with one well placed shot
weak yet very inconsistent, I have even shot dm 53s from the leopard 2a5 in its middle lfp and it only kills the driver or the ammo won't detonate 20 percent of the time.
Your best bet is to disable the gun first; Although, any cannon can just eat even the strongest shells without being destroyed quite often in this stupid game.

@@n8ivspat3n56 If your shell gets swatted by the side of a cannon (like a bat would a baseball) or it touches the edge of the damage model chances are it'll just get sent to the void. Also, cannons act as ERA. You'll notice at some point that even if you have more than enough pen to go through both, say, the mantlet of a tank *and* the cannon angled in front of it YOU WILL NOT PEN the mantlet.

Playing for 6 years and I now ran into that problem that I can never buy any new vehicles that I unlock because all the SL that I earn is used on spading the last unlocked vehicle + expert crew. I earn like 20k at most per match and now everything I unlock cost like 400k.

Russian tanks' composite ke armour modifier is 4, NATO tanks is 0.2-0.89. It might be correct and everyone else's is artificially extremely low, or it might be wrong and everyone else's is still artificially low. Either way its bias.
I like Russian armour as a historical observer, but as a gamer, this kind of turns me off of wanting to play the game at all.
I will say for the record again that I wish they would retire the BMP-2M from the game and replace it with either a different BMP-2 derivative, or a 57mm armed BMP-3. Would be at least marginally more balanced that way.
As for top tier in general, minor tech trees all need their econ fixed. That would be a huge step to nerfing top end Russian power, since it both gives incentive to play other nations, and makes it viable to bring a more full lineup. Only after that can actual vehicle balance be discussed.
As a casual f2p player (rank 5 USSR, rank 4 Germany and USA) I have to say that whenever I feel the need to play something modern I just test-drive some of the high tier premium and if the need is still there I just play something above 7.0 and the need goes away after the first battle because it's just so much worse for me than 6.3-6.7 and below.
For the US and France, 6.0-7.7 is pure torture. Mostly because of German mains. Russia is balanced this tier.
But at 8.0-10.0, playing Russia becomes a turkey shoot.

The main imbalance at high tier is advanced air weaponry to me. Most tanks from 10 to 11 have extremely similar performance no matter how much people want to whine but getting to bring 4 atgms is always going to turn a ground RB match more than a phantom with a bunch of dumb bombs and rockets for Japan at top tier or whatever

i just played a match where 3 Ka-50's spawned in with atgms first spawn within 2 minutes of the game half of my team died and left from the ka-50's . we had 2 adats and i had a OTOMATIC. the ka-50's just tanked like 4 of my AA rounds. both adats died at the spawn and then i died from KA-50 spamming the cannon from like 3km away. then they proceeded to just rocket my team . its so fucking stupid . i dearly hope anyone that plays russia get stuck in a room with spiders for a week and tortured.
