SHAUN OF THE DEAD:
Simon Pegg - Slacker
Nick Frost - Slacker
HOT FUZZ:
Simon Pegg - Serious man
Nick Frost - Slacker
THE WORLD’S END:
Simon Pegg - Slacker
Nick Frost - Serious man
But you can;'t quite equate them in Shaun of the Dead. Shaun may have been a slacker, but Ed was on an entirely different tier lol
I'd like to see them try one last film with them both as serious men. It's a challenge, but I think they could make it work!
OH MY GOD IVE BEEN SAYING THIS FOREVER THANK YOU
@mudshark jones I used to have a friend who was practically a carbon copy of Gary, so i have personal experience of this type of person.
That's why The Worlds End didn't work in my book; it tries to make you root for a really horrible character. Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz are leagues ahead of it.
Easy money
I love the Pegg-Frost role reversal from the past two in the trilogy! They work so well!
I wish they should've given Frost the lead role. I wonder how that would've turnt out.
They're very underrated as actors.
Leto אtreides II, God Emperor of Dune that’s exactly what I thought
It’s similar to how blackadder and baldrick swapped roles in the later series of blackadder
Agreed. When I first watched this I was surprised to see Nick in the “straight man” role and he does it so damn well
Andy's sudden anger makes sense if you take into account the fact that he and his 'Mrs' broke up very recently
And that Gary almost killed him. 12 hours of surgery. And Gary forgot.
@@andreasbuehler1821 selective memory
Is what he’s paying him for
@@andreasbuehler1821 it wasn’t even the crash that he was angry about, it was the fact that his BEST FRIEND, a guy he probably considered his brother, let him down when he needed him most.
@@andreasbuehler1821and left him to be arrested.
Andrew is the only one that instantly knew what Gary’s plan was
He really was the one that knew him the most
Heartwarming fact: Felicity, Andy's secretary, was named after a big fan of Edgar, Simon and Nick's work who died of cancer whilst making this film.
@@howell162 Felicity.
@@howell162 Are you serious?
Flat bollocks. Her name's Leo Thompson and while she's a frequent Wright collaborator and probably a fan of his work, she is thankfully not dead as of this post.
@@lyonsrobbie999 Read it again. I wasn't talking about who plays the secretary you mug, I said the *character* was named Felicity after a fan of their work who passed away.
@@J_C_CH can you call me mug in a loving way?
"I haven't had a drink for 16 years, Gary."
"You must be thirsty, then."
Lol! That's the last thing you'd want to say to a man who's been sober for a very long time.
Took me a while to understand that Gary may thought that Andrew haven been drinking, not because of he wants to stop, but because of leak o oportunniy to drink.
I’ll never forget seeing this for the first time and thinking how bizarre it was to see Frost as the straight man and Pegg as the goofball.
Same. Especially since their personalities were complete opposite in Shaun of the dead
Really showed their acting range.
Yeah, in Shaun Of The dead both are idiots but at least Shaun is more responsible. In Hot Fuzz simon is the ultimate straight man while Nick is the sidekick. Here is just unbeliable
"It's good to see you mate." Having seen this film strikes me just how much this means to him.
But its just manipulation. At that moment, the golden mile is what matters to him, its all he's got, he needs to make it happen.
the "its good to see you mate." means so much after you relise he would kill himself after he finishes the golden mile. even if he wouldnt come. so he lies about his mother to get him to come. to spend one last night with who he sees as his best mate.
However, there is one thing to say: To be the third chapter of the Cornetto Trilogy, in this film there is more beer than croissants. And the Cornetto card appears, alone, from the end, if I remember correctly.
@@giosy0072 I dont recall any croissants from the trilogy.
It’s a really touching scene. It gets me every time when he said to Andy he was the best friend he’d ever had.
Ordering
@SteveyTheEx-Eevee Nope.
I can't tell what's funnier: Gary saying "Uh, the Petatron." or his face when he shoots the rubberband.
For some reason I cant stop laughing at this part
i replayed it like 40 times
0:17
fuckiung hell is that what he says there? I thought it was hilarious but never could figure out what he was saying.
@@Mitch-Cumstein”Uhh, the Petertron” Pete’s nickname
These guys must be the best of friends, every movie I see them in there always acting alongside each other as friends
BigJuicyLongAssBoi yea but that’s also how acting works
They are best friends in real life
Best job to have a best friend around.
Edgar, Simon and Nick are the best of friends. They've been friends since they worked on the sitcom Spaced in the late 90s. They're also good mates with some of the other cast members as well, like Bill Nighy and Martin Freeman.
They did used to sleep on the same bed together when they were young and poor, so there is that
1:12 “it’s pointless arguing with you” foreshadowing to the end
I love Pegg and Frost’s roles were reversed in this film compared to Hot Fuzz and Shaun Of The Dead.
Yes
Nick frost is such an underrated actor. If you consider the sheer difference between his character in the worlds end compared to Shaun of the dead and hot fuzz
Even more amazing that he didn't start out in life wanting to be an actor. He was Simon's college friend who got pulled into it. And yet he's better than most actors. !!!
When you understand the relationship between Gary and Andy, on rewatch you really see this scene in a new light.
Andy: "I haven't had a drink for sixteen years Gary."
Gary: "You must be thirsty then."
Hero 👏🏻👏🏻😂
How can Andy still alive if he haven’t had a drink for 16 years
He will always be thirsty.
Simon Pegg's voice is second, next to Morgan Freeman
Calum Peissel Andy Serkis would like a word 😂
Personal preference, but I think Morgan Freeman's voice is overrated. A lot of English men sounds better.
Michael Caine, Patrick Steward
ChrisOl01 Jude law in narration mode
Jeremy Irons, Paul Bettany, SAMUEL L JACKSON
1:22 (Slurd) “Uh what you gotta check with your mrs?” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
0:46 I love that exhale andy makes for no real reason. It's just really funny.
It seems like that was sigh of disappointment. Gary didn't recall the big reason why Andy went sober in the first place.
B1SCOOP makes sense.
It’s actually nick frost almost breaking character if you look carefully he sighs and smiles because he found what Simon beg said so funny but as he’s an amazing actor he some how manages to stay in character 😂
@Mr moon and that also add more emotion to the scene. A sigh of disappointment, but with a tiny little smile that his best bud hasn't changed at all, for the better or worse (clearly for the worse tho).
To me it always seemed like he wants to laugh because them being old best buddies, they obviously share the same type of humour but he stops himself from laughing.
Nick Frost and Simon Peggs characters are so unique in their own ways.
This movie is so underrated.🌎🔚🍻
"You have a very selective memory Gary"
"Thanks!"
"you remember the Friday nights. I remember the Monday mornings"
0:19 funny as hell
The way he says check with ya missus 😂
It's nice to come back and see why Andy asked Gary to leave after he mockingly said "got to check with your missus". Because later it's revealed his wife left him.
"It's pointless arguing with you" some nice foreshadowing there.
"WINDOR!" Classic
Windoor
THIS MOVIE IS SOOOOO UNDERATED
Why it is absolute garbage
@@hollyfut false
@@hollyfut it's not even under rated, loads of people watched it. It's in the Cornetto trilogy
@@flyde6521 that was one of the dumbest films ever i had to watch
@@hollyfut then watch something else and stop commenting
0:20 I love how quick he jumps😂
"What are you doing?"
"I'm showing you the door." 🤣
Simon Pegg is such a phenomenal actor.
Damn, Pegg really plays that character well and layered. Like it's a double fake out: you think he's bullshitting or he's not but if you think he's not you'll eventually think he is after learning more about him. But it's revealed he wasn't when we learn about all of him
Man the end of the scene is so sad, like he's absolutely being manipulative but he's also being entirely honest with Andy there.
Upon my something teenth re-watch of this film I finally made the connection with the main characters last names. Chamberlain, Paige, Knightly, Prince & King as if Newton Haven was its own little kingdom. Only a small point that most people probably got on their initial viewing, but damn good writing if you ask me.
Lovely detail, well worth mentioning.
I mean in the opening spiel they do literally call it “our own little kingdom”
1:27 BOI
1:50 that was totally a bribe by Gary haha. Waits all them years and doesn't pay Andy the money until he wants out again.
No shit Sherlock
Refresh my memory .. but didn’t he borrow the money from the petertron to pay Andy. ?
Roberto Anglero He robbed Peter to pay Paul.
He's just robbing Peter to pay Andy he still owns Paul 😂.
Not so much a bribe as a massive guilt trip. Look at Andy's reaction, it's the first crack in his armor, maybe Gary's changed more than he gave him credit for. Then Gary follows up that first sucker punch with the sob story about his mum. Ouch.
"Is it a window, or is it a door? Maybe it's a windooor..."
1:22
My favorite part 😂😂
Have you got to check with the missus??
F Cawley So is it a window or is it door? Or is it a windor?
F Cawley I read that as it happened
NO ACTUALLY! I DON'T HAVE TO CHECK WITH MY MISSES! *points hand at WINDOOR *
@@specialunit0428 What are you doing?

The brilliant cornetto triology
0:43 funny as hell his voice 😂😂😂
I can relate to Andy’s description of the town
Don't drag Felicity into your personal problems!
"You have a very selective memory, Gary." Nice foreshadowing.
Gary: This is a bit grown up, innit?
(Proceeds to spin in his chair)
“Do you have to check with the misses?”
So goddamn funny lol
1:27 ‘wit ye doin?’ 😂😂😂
Da big...cancer lol
Have you got to check with your Mrs? 😂
the really need to make a sequel to this
Shaun of the Dead:
Simon Pegg: employed slacker
Nick Frost: unemployed slacker
Hot Fuzz:
Simon Pegg: hardworking man
Nick Frost: employed slacker
World's End:
Simon Pegg: unemployed slacker
Nick Frost: hardworking man
Wow he’s so CUTE
Just finished watching this, this film was SO GOOD
Emotional blackmail at its’ best.
Why have you got to check with your misses.. his face
Best duo ever
US: This is the end
UK: The World’s end. I love both of them.
"Maybe it's a WIN-DOOR." 🤣
A windoor what a title of an object very hilarious.
King gay
Watched this a few years back and thought it was only "ok". Watched it again today and enjoyed it so much more for some strange reason. Think you have to be in the right mood for comedy sometines.
Anyway, very funny film.
Same here, I found it alright as a kid but it’s hilarious nowadays
@@SilkfireStudios can understand that. Things is, I'm no kid - I'm 38.
Think i just mustn't have been in the right mood first time around, as I found it hilarious on second viewing.
Michael James yeah it’s weird how that happens with some movies
Oh my God the sisters of Mercy shirt!
1:27 ....
"Unfinished Buizzzzzznessssssssss"
I always feel like The World's End is a little underrated, because Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead are both classics. But this movie definitely has plenty of great moment and isn't that far behind Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead in my opinion!
600 wasn't it?
Gary gives me Jack Sparrow vibes
Finally I'm not the only one I said the exact same thing to my friends when we went to see it, They didn't see the comparison
0:06 Love that muffled bell sound. Ominous.
The best movie I have ever watched!!
1:57 from here to the end of the scene it for some reason brought me to tears for a second...
Probably because he was improper before that, and went all seriousness
It is a windor
"Me and the boys grabbing a drink"
these movies are my guilty pleasure
Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are an amazing comedy duo
Gary: What is it? A door or a window? Maybe it's a "windoor"
Gary at 'The Hole In The Wall": *Exits through the window*
He said his mom died like from Shaun of the dead
@Jack Hayhurst along with fences and icecream cones lmao
Is it a window? Or, is it a door? Maybe, it's a windoor.
Great movie. It's like a Robert Rankin book brought to life.
Except its not set in Brentford, or Penge, which i hear is a very nice place.
Would the Swan make it onto the golden mile?
I watched this movie last night and i fucking loved it so much
A windoor.. Brilliant
Nick Frost And Simon Pegg Is The Greatest Cinema Duo Of All Time
Simon pegg is genius....pappaapetetron llol
2:24 This bit takes on a new meaning when you realize Gary's planning to commit suicide after the Golden Mile and, as far as he knows, this might be the last time he sees Andy.
Tbh I wasn't a fan of the role reversal of Frost and Pegg in this movie compared to Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz but I appreciated their acting skills to pull it off in this movie.
I just see Nick Frost as the goofy guy lol
i Loved this film
The genius of this movie is this pub crawl they go on, sounds like something I would like to do in real life even though I'm teetotal
This guy Gary King is my personal hero, which is probably not something you should admit, that you are basically idolizing an alcoholic whose only way of coping is to get mind blowing drunk and reminisce about his youth, but it is what it is, I apologize for nothing. :P
No matter who he thinks he is; in reality he will forever be one of Gary's gang. That's what I think this story is really about.
You must be thirsty then 🤣🤣🤣
I think Simon Pegg looks really similar to Bud Cort.
aw that’s sad
I used ot live in High wycombe XD was there during shooting
Imagine if they stayed in Newtown Haven when they were kids
Oh god why you’ve got to check with your misses?
The way how these two act in all 3 movies:
Shaun Of The Dead (2004)
Simon Pegg is all grown up, and Nick Frost continues acting like a child
Hot Fuzz (2007)
Simon Pegg is all grown up, and Nick Frost starting to grow up
The World's End (2013)
The other way around, Simon Pegg acts like a child, and Nick Frost is all grown up
0:19
