I bought one and installed it. Very nice way to dress up my '06 HD Softail Standard FXST. It was easy to install, with no problems at all!

Will it still do diagnostics sweep?
I have a 05 Harley I’m looking to remove the rpm gauge How would I do that ?? It’s a separate gauge from the speedometer. Can I just unplug it ? And remove the gauge
What happends if you don't transfer data
I replaced with same kind just new, where the mileage is supposed to be at it’s giving me a code so I don’t know what happens
If my 2005 road king old speedometer that is already on my bike isn’t turning on to marking the mileage, can I install a new vehicle speed sensor and then plug my old speedometer to the diagnostic plug and download the current mileage then install it back on there. Would that work?

Hello and thank you for this great video. I am attempting to replace an MPH speedo on my 2014 Ultra Limited to a KPH speedo. I have located a used replacement speedo. Where can I locate that kit that allows me to update the new speedo? do you have a link? Tx
Hmmm. Good question. I would have to do some searching for that because top of head I am not sure. The one I installed came with the plug and play wire harness. Not sure if you can get that separately or not through Harley or aftermarket vendor. Might want to call J&P or use their online support to ask that same question. Get a part # and vendor who supplies it if you can find it then search it out on the net or just order from J&P
Having a hard time sourcing a tach for my 1999 road king (first year with the twin cam). Will this work on my bike? Is the plug on the back of the speedo the same from 1999 to 2006?
From what I hear it’s only back to 2006 but I would need to dig deeper into that and it’s been a minute since I have swapped one out
I want to put one on my bike. But I tore between the old and the new. I really like the old look, plus I can see it better. 😎😄

Yes. The road king I put it on was speedo only.
my bike is flhr 03 and the speedo connector is different. How do I install that speedo? and if I can't install it, what type of speedo / tacho do I install and how is it done? Thank you
I would recommend you reaching out to the retailer who sold you the device and ask this same question to them. Not knowing what you have and what you bought it’s kinda hard to help
I put this on my 04 fatboy carbureted and all works except fuel. Previous owner installed a dummy light no gauge any ideas why the fuel gauge won't work?
Honestly on my 03 the fuel gauge never really worked properly. I think it has something to do with how they made the floats back then. It says I am out of gas and I still have 2 1/2 gallons left to go on a 5 galleon tank. Never trust the fuel gauge. Its why I reset my trip meter every time i fill up

No, you have to keep the old gas gauge
Can a flh76 be modified to run a digital speedo like this? Already have Electronic SS ignition, so its ready for a tach, but what about the speedometer. It reads from the engine right?
That is a good question I am not sure the answer of. My gut is saying no I don’t believe so with out major electrical work to get it up to speed. I would have to dig deeper on that

Something like that may be a easier conversion for older bikes. GPS speedo. Kinda cool.
Will this work on a 2001 road king?
My 2005 heritage Softail Classic doesn’t have a main fuse, only a main circuit breaker under the rear fender. Can I just disconnect the battery instead to install it.

@@hermanbrown4786would a 2015 HD Iron 883 have modern enough computer to be able to read tachometer if I change speedo? I really want that tachometer and fuel level gauge on my speedo. Right now I have a digital rpm.

ok so if for example, I have 07 street bob which has only a speedometer and no rpm's once I get that speedo with rpm's will it work on my bike?

Mine isn’t calibrating over. I followed the directions exactly. It lights up if I plug it in but it won’t calibrate through the data link
On the last page of the installation guide is a troubleshooting section. Do any of those symptoms apply?
I tried one on my 2004 RK and it would not work either. Went to HD shop they could not figure it out. They called the factory, come to find out my bad original speedo was not the original factory speedo but had been a HD replacement. The data would not transfer until I get the original make and model installed. It is on back order right now. I hope it works when I get it.
Did you connect the fuel cable
MrOmarjones1 forgive me because I don’t remember disconnecting any fuel lines but if I did I am sure they were reconnected because the bike fired up at the end of the video and has been running fine since. Maybe I need to go rewatch the video to see what you are looking at
Does the bikes ecm store the original mileage so now one could create fraud
Yes I did not have to program the current mileage. When you plug this in and turn the bike onto accessory it downloaded the current mileage automatically. I don’t believe there is any way for me to tamper with that

Unfortunately not at this time. I believe 2006 is the farthest back it will work

Unfortunately I don’t believe so. It’s been a minute since I have swapped one but it’s 06 and newer to my knowledge. I want one for my 03 also…..

I think its 2004 and up but dont quote me on that.
How do you set up the ABS light mine stayed on??
That’s odd and I am not certain how to answer that. It might need to be flashed by the dealer unfortunately

I have a 99 roadking that I would love to do this with but the dealerships say it can't be done as Harley changed a wiring harness starting in 04' I believe. If anyone had success on an older bike, I'd love to know how to do it. The new one looks so sweet.

The tach and speedo need to be switched. I like a big tach. Nice deal that the speedo is programmable. Not a bad setup and much cheaper and cleaner than two new gauges. I did notice you didn't lube the speedo wire. Normally you lube the speedo cable when you take the unit off. LOL

Sorry, but YET ANOTHER video that DOESN'T show how you remove the old speedometer. You are filming your back when taking it apart and putting it back together.
ALSO, HOW DID YOU TRANSFER THE MILEAGE OVER?!?!?! You just turn power on and off? When does the transfer take place?
