Hi. I just bought a zippo case,( no insert) off ebay It is a 150 year commemorative lighter of the Civil War. It came from China. The day before I got it I watched this video. Anyways, I put in an insert and set it aside. Latter while looking at the box I noticed the difference that you point out in this video. Of course I got a Fake. So I looked at the lighter case more closely. The bottom is i-10. Everything on the bottom is off and weak. So now I have a fake zippo with a zippo brass insert. Oh well. Part of my new collection!

This resin was spreaded all across the sides at the top of the insert (if you look at the interior holding it in your hands, on the sides of the top part), like it´s been soldered.
What do you make from this?
Markings outside the insert said A 23.

Just for fun I followed each of your steps and checked on my boxes and now I'm sitting here with a question on my mind.
On the back of one of them their web address is spelled with a capital z. The sticker also only has a three digit code belonging to the model name, but no code on the left or right side of the text block. Most of the audience probably know the model, it's called "206 Planeta Florentine". Strange thing is this zippo is out of a collector's series with this particular one kicking of the series. When it got released I was lucky enough to get one. Maybe it got no code, because of that. It wasn't sold as a single item, it was the "gimmick" to a printed magazine. But then there is that capital "z". 🤔 I'm confused. The pattern on the box seems fine, but the symbols are also just as shown here on the fake box. An additional symbol added on top of the row with the other symbols.
And now I'm wondering if there was something fishy going on with that series. I remember back in the days I was asking myself how they would be able to make a profit, but there were plenty of similar series targeting all kinds of interests and I knew that if you were about to follow to the end of the series you would've spent a lot of money. So I thought they were willing to take a small loss at the start to get you hooked and get their money back and make a profit off of you later on. Maybe I was wrong in that regard, but on the spot with the fishy part. Seems now as if they were making a profit right from the start.
The zippo in question has never been in use and sits in its box to this day. I might take a closer look at it later. 🧐

My place is the heaven of fake Zippos.
And the box in your video are way more tricky to untrained eyes, but man, if you look at the box at my place, you'll know RIGHT AWAY.
    Why?
Because the 8 holes in the logo is not grey, but white. Like opaque white. Not shiny gray, but completely white. It made me laugh.
And also the lighter itself, the most common tell tale sign of fakes in my place is that the fake one has 2 pings. I don't know how they did it, but the fake ones have 2 clicks/pings. And when I hear that here, yep, fake ones.
Thanks for making this video. This really helps people on buying Zippos so that they won't get scammed.
