How do u know it’s a fake hahaha probably isn’t
It has a cross pattern on the box
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors and it didn't come with the piece of paper and didn't have the made in USA card it was just the black velvet
@@Sethyboy_ I think she’s good buds. Your ready to rock now. Sometimes people don’t have the original box. Where’d u buy it
Amazon, and they sell more. I just assumed the zippo was fake because of the box it didn't come with anything, but the box.
My new black boxes came in a white box and it only has a sticker on the back with a recycled symbol did they just change the boxes. The texture is the same as the texture you said is the real one.
yeah buddy they started coming inside white boxes right after I made this video lol your good.
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors saw another comment about the p65 warning and it eased my mind lol
I'm loving my brushed brass armor can't wait to see what kinda patina it develops.

@@Zippofanatic77outdoors It is like a canadian convienient store. They had a display with lots of zippos so I wanted to know if I got a fake
@@mr.fwenchfwy5549 lol I’m Sault Ste. Marie Ontario buddeh. We don’t have one of those here but u got nothing to worry about. Hard to get fakes here. More Europe and Asia

@@Zippofanatic77outdoors i was really worried for a sec
I also want to manufacture metal lighters like zippo! I just want to know how much it would cost to produce one unit estimate* and can I make similar metal lighter as well or not ( front/outer design would be new and unique) just asking due to patent claims etc. ?
Hahaha how would I know the answers to any of those questions lol
Why get boxes and not a case? Genuinely asking
U mean case as in the zippo itself. Or a carrying case or pouch or something
Does Amazon sell genuine Zippos?
Yup just look for a seller with a lot of sales and good reviews
This video should be titled “How to spot a fake Zippo BOX” because you didn’t show how to spot a fake lighter. Only the box.
great info... Thanks!
No problem Edwin !
I wonder if people have tried sending fake Zippos in to get repairs? Those fakes I've seen in videos look really close.
Oh yeah they’ve been known to fix non zippo lighters lol ronson has a similar flip top
Bro that zippo skills mustve got you laid all by themselves a few timed already
Hhahaha lmao I don’t like to brag
This is NEEDED when buying a zippo from eBay!!!!!!!
💯 hahaha. Gotta look close
there is also a small white zippo logo behind the Made in USA on the bottom box inner top edge side
I intentionally bought a fake zippo in Hungary just cuz it had the Hungarian flag on it, still cool tho
I have a Matte Red Soviet Hammer and Sickle Zippo that I can't confirm is real or not lol. the box looks pretty legit and I got it from Lucas Lighters
Never herd of it and I don’t buy from that eBay store. Anyone can slap a sticker on a red matte
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors I got it from their website. I've also seen that Walmart and Amazon have it
@@meroinheroin no idea. Fuck Russia
i live in hong kong and i come across some zippo boxes just like those but i think they are the export versions because there are many companys that import zippo to asia i have seen at least 3 different importing companys names on the guarantee thingy the lighter themself looks identical but i am not an expert so lets just hope my zippos are real xd
I think your good bud. Look at the texture of the box. They all come from the factory the same so when they come to Asia they should be the same
How are you getting so many free lighters from Zippo?
i noticed that if you take off the "made in USA" cardboard on a real zippo, there is a flame symbol and a full stop!
Lol what ?
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors yeah, the made in USA cardboard thing on the box?
the box itself has a fire symbol on both the lid and the box
Yes,indeed. White flame with a full stop once you take off the felt layer and on the inside of the lid..
But how can you tell on the zippo
Would you buy a Zippo if it was from the future?
Yup ! Lol

I have a few n my grandpas with his name on it from Vietnam it’s just hard to wrap my head around a fuckin 20 lighter 😂 why would they go through the trouble for something so cheap
My opas nam zippo was cool because it has some Vietnam stuff engraved in it but also his rank as LT rather than enlisted but he made captain but after the war ended he was back to regular enlisted 3 bronze stars and a Purple Heart that lighter made it through
That’s awesome story dusty ! Should make a video one day on it to commemorate him. Well they fake a 20$ dollar zippo because one American dollar is worth so much over there. That if they fake it for 1$ they make 19$ lol. Actually a lot of money over there
Its a minefield out there
Lol well hope this video helps some people
.....but who cares about the box..if the lighter is genuine that's good enough..
no we see nothing ! 3:00
what if you buy on line
Youll be good if it’s a common one
