    That make sense. It would explain why a lot of newbies complain of foot strain.
    Thank you.

    I just started riding and I do feel better riding with my toes hanging over. I feel more solid and stable. I’m going to commit and move my pads forward since seeing this. Thanks!

    Took me about 5-10 minutes to figure out that you get basically no foot strain whatsoever if the toes don't touch the pedals. Because of that, my first EUC practice lasted well over an hour. With split riding mode on my V12 I can make up for the lack of deceleration power without over leaning by adjusting brake torque independently from acceleration.

    i was dealing with extreme foot pain after only 5 minutes. Then, I seen another youtuber point this out and it was a game changer. Line up the back of your sneaker with the back of the pedal and wear hard bottom shoes like Air Force 1s and voilà....pain gone.

    This is a good analysis for someone who's around a size 9 U.S. shoe. I'm a 12 and the front balls of my foot a little past the edge of the pedal even with my heel a little aft of the back edge of the pedal.

    • @thebladeofhades4507

      Foot size doesn’t really matter, it’s all about ankle location compared to wheel axle. I wear size 10 1/2-11.

    • @ajrowe5845
      @ajrowe5845 3 года назад

      I was going to ask this also. If we hang over either side anyway what's more important to keep on the pedal? Heel or ball of foot. Because I can't do both. I definitely hang toes though so I'm glad I learned that way at least lol

    I think that moving forward on the foot-plate like that will make acceleration easier and deceleration more difficult. I prefer stopping power.

    • @darkstar4494
      @darkstar4494 3 года назад +1

      Exactly! Your foot position front to back determines how much leverage you will have for acceleration vs how much for stopping power.

      @@keithancajas4623 agreed. You still have to decide where to place your feet though. Even with pads I prefer to make braking easier for safety.

    hey buddy .. help.. the store who sold me ks18xl that didnt arrive yet.. have installed the power pads a little higher, where the leather protetion is... is it bad at all? i use to ride v5f, with most of my heel out of the pedal, and my toes on the pedal, will i have to relearn how to ride? or just a little of training? thank you, just wanna ride safe.. cause the v5f pedals were too small for my 12/5 foot, id rather stay with my toes on the pedal, but im going to change it.. and adapt to ride ks18xl at the same time, is it ok, gonna be easy? tks

    • @thebladeofhades4507
      @thebladeofhades4507  2 года назад

      The change will feel odd at first, like you’re going to fall off the front.
      Once your body adapts to the forward stance it will become natural.
      Use pads to hold your feet in place and add a brake pad on the upper part of the wheel so you can grip it with your legs while braking.

  • @HealthyLiv1ng
    @HealthyLiv1ng 2 года назад

    Makes me wonder about us females with smaller feet where the foot plate (ex. KS 18XL) is larger than our foot.
    It's like determining do I want my ankle to be closest to the center of the wheel or put in the foot further fwd to gain more speed control. What are your thoughts?

    • @thebladeofhades4507
      @thebladeofhades4507  2 года назад +2

      Your ankles are the pivot points between legs and feet. Try to get them close to the centre to take advantage of the biomechanics, this makes agility, speed, and jumping easier but makes braking harder.
      To counter the brake problem add a upper pad to the euc to grip with your knees so you can torque it backwards.
      In the end foot size doesn’t really matter, the key is to align your body to the physics of the wheel.

    So whats the best position? Left or right?

  • @rcgldr
    @rcgldr 3 года назад

    For most people, the distance from the the front of the toe to the center of the ball is less than 1/2 inch longer than the distance from the back of the heel to the center of the heel. If the back of the heel and the front of the toe are equal distant from the pedal edges, the foot position will be less than 1/4 inch back of a foot position where the center of heel and center of ball are equal distant from pedal edges. It's not going to make as much difference as shown in the diagrams.

  • @ManjaroBlack

    This is not how it works. Sorry to burst everyone’s bubble. Foot placement is about leverage. The more forward you place your feet the easier it is to accelerate. The further back it is easier to decelerate. This is due to lengthening the lever, making your weight more effective.
    Where you place your feet should change depending on how and where you are riding. Sure moving your feet forward while riding on a paved trail is perfectly fine. Riding the city you probably want to be able to stop quicker for safety so you should move your feet back a bit. Whether your toes are hanging off or not has nothing to do with it. People with small feet may not even be able to hang their toes off at all without completely compromising the ability to stop.

    • @thebladeofhades4507
      @thebladeofhades4507  3 года назад +3

      Foot forward is not so much about hanging your toes off the front but more about aligning your ankle closer to the center of the wheel. This allows riders to evenly distribute their weight across the footplates from heel to the ball of your feet without constantly leaning forward on their toes.
      If your concerned about braking aspects of this foot placement adding jump pads or power pads allows riders to grip with knees and torque the wheel back for maximum stopping power.
      Riders have many techniques that all work for them, my intent was to put some information out to help those with wobble and foot fatigue issues.
      I have helped many riders with this knowledge and will probably help many more. My ability on a euc is displayed here on yt and I attribute that skill to my foot position and custom pad setup, the key is to become one with the wheel by aligning your body to the wheel and the becoming one with the wheel through good jump pads. This combination of biomechanics and physics will give any rider the best experience once they can learn the dynamics.
