Having taught several dozen people how to ride an EUC, I think there is an important distinction to make regarding the best EUC for learning. Based on my experience, MTen3 is the easiest to learn IF you have someone to assist you: while the low center of gravity and stability on even terrain is great, there is almost no support for calves which makes it extremely difficult to learn how to start and stop on your own. When I assist people with learning on MTen3 it’s going great, but when I gave this EUC to someone to learn on their own, without any assist, they struggled a lot. For those learning on their own, a relatively light wheel like V5F or V8 is better: while it’s not as stable as MTen3 at first, it has enough support for your calves/legs to make it possible for you to start and stop on your own. Also, when transitioning from Mten3 to something like V8, it takes about 10 minutes to get used to a different weight distribution but it’s faster to learn on Mten3 first (if someone can assist you) than to try right away on V8. Of course you need access to several wheels to be able to do it this way :)
Very good video! I myself taught people to ride the EUC and there are a couple of comments. 1. Straightening the legs helps a lot while the beginner is riding on a flat surface. So there are a lot less wobbling.
2. It is better to use pedals without pins, because it is very difficult to correct the position of the foot at first. 3. If you use a helmet, it should not be heavy. When learning, beginners still try to catch the wheel and bend sharply at the same time. The babischa from the video also demonstrated this at 10:07 even after you said that you don't need to catch the wheel (a common situation). It is not very useful for the neck.

Weighing back and forth between a unicycle and a scooter. Going over comfort, range, speed, storage, winter and rain driving etc. It will replace my car so it needs to be more than a toy that just looks cool. What is your opinion of the 2? So far I feel like this. Pro's for a Scooter * Nice comfy seat at my desired height to drive and relax, not having to worry about leg tension or me sitting a bit to low. I seen people sit on wheels and it doesn't look super comfy. * 2 wheels, more stable and safe during snow and rain for sure. I seen people drive EUC in snow but they are most likely lucky. If my car can slide when in snow at 30 kmh then a 1 wheel definitely can and that makes it super dangerous in slippery weather. * Packing, I can use a bicycle basket in the front and probably some designed box/basket in the back as well for groceries. I can also rest some stuff on the scooters foot rest area on these bigger scooters. * No cut off's so I fly to hell and back so safer going faster. * I feel less protective gear is needed on the scooter whereas on EUC I would need quite a bit and those things cost a lot as well. * Cost is another positive thing, the scooter is like 700-1700$ cheaper. And I am looking at scooter models that go around 80 kmh. Add protective gear needed for a EUC and I can probably buy 2 Scooters for the price of one wheel with protective gear. * A friend can easily come over for a beer or 2 and borrow my scooter home If needed or me taking it to town for a beer then drive it home from that friend. Not something that I would want to do with a EUC so sharing the fun is harder on a EUC if the person doesn't know how to ride. * Driving with a friend on it is possible and could be a life saver in many situations. Not so much on a EUC if you haven't worked on a circus for 20 years riding with a monkey on your shoulders and juggling 7 flaming torches. Cons for Scooter * Not hands-free, so If I do want to ride and film a bit which would be fun it will be harder. Not a big negative but worth mentioning and will change the posibility to do RUclips/Twitch stuff which I am into as well. * Storage, definitely will be lucrative for thieves so I would like to keep it in my apartment and how fun is that? A wheel is much more nimble to put in a closeth so a big negative for the scooter. * Portability, hard to bring on a bus or train, take into a store etc. Sure can be locked outside but thiefs do like Electric shit so I would feel uncomfortable leaving it for too long unattended. The EUC I would just roll with me easy or put in the shopping cart. * Fun factor, I sure do think scooters are pretty fun but they seem stiffer and not as connected to you like a wheel. So in that regard I guess a wheel win the fun factor aspect and give a sense of freedom. * Range, it seem very unclear how far scooters and wheels go, some scooters say 60-100 km, not sure what most wheels go but I guess they are similar. I just always feel the range seem low still and considering it is measured with a 57 kg asian guy riding on flat ground I guess I would get 40 km out of my scooter weighing around 100 kg but not 100% sure. Definitely something that worry me on both EUC and scooters but maybe a bit more on scooters since range seem so unclear from manufacturers and they love to pull numbers out of their ass. * Uphill from what I seen seem to be a bit more struggle for the Scooters. That do depends on the EUC also of course, I seen them struggle as well so could be tied to the power of these devices in general. EUC Pro's * 2 hands free to videofilm, maybe hold groceries if not too heavy. * Storage space needed for it is good and portability is great. Taking it into stores are easier and so on. * Looks fun, freedom to glide around, more nimble than the bulky Scooter. Still that is where the Pro's kinda end with a EUC. Cons * Expensive as hell considering you can fall off them like 50 times your first months of riding them and even one fall can break them or you if you're unlucky. And then what, just pay another 2800$ for another one? * More protective gear needed which drives cost further. * More dangerous than a Scooter for sure, longer to break. A car might think you are a person walking and miscalculate the distance and so on which ends in a crash. * Bad in snow and rain * Can't be shared so easily, can't give anyone a lift and so on. * No real storage place except your hands and that do seem a bit dangerous. So yeah, the wheel is tempting but looking at it from a practical standpoint it kinda suck. It is cool and for RUclips content it wins and most likely fun factor. For going shopping or replacing the car with storage room or taking that beer along the beach and then cruise home the scooter is chill as fack.
Started on a onewheel but really don't like the companies increasingly more locked down models. I sold all mine except an older XR and just bought an Inmotion v11!
I’m a one wheel rider and I just purchased the in motion V8F it’s on back order I’ll get it in July will being able to ride a onewheel help in learning to ride this
Well done! I have been riding for a year, and wish I had this to start with. Currently doing very well on roads and bike paths, but have not tackled gravel roads or dirt trails yet. Could you do a video with some pointers for that? Thanks so much! My wheel is a V10.
Excellent video. A caution I have for new riders is that the wheel may spin like a top if it falls over on a failed dismount and can cause injury. It is important to get feet away from the wheel if it falls over.
That was helpful. I bought an Inmotion V5 as a starter wheel. I've never seen the smaller wheel that you showed in the video. That probably would have been better for me to start on. I was having difficulty figuring out which was my dominant foot because I'm ambidextrous. So I stopped & thought about how I start on my bicycle & started with my feet the same way as I do on my bike & I started using the opposite hand from how all the videos tell you to do it. It works much better for me this way. I suppose it looks awkward but it has helped my balance immensely. As if learning this wasn't enough, I'm also learning to ride a regular pedal unicycle because it looks like fun. Keep up the good work. 👍☮️🌞🌟
Hey man what’s up your the man I watch all your videos I have the veteran Sherman coming on in like 4 days and I’ve never rode an Euc before I’ve got over 1000 miles on the Onewheel
Great video what size do you recommend. I found a V11 for sale but have no experience in electric unicycle, but a a skier, snowboarder and eskate person.
Thank you for the videos Wrong Way I am 52 years old lady from Wisconsin USA and just learned to ride a hoverboard and I love it- it is like meditation, however I want to upgrade to a big one wheel I have one rebuilt knee which I ripped up and had rebuilt 3 of the four ligaments 5 years ago. SO I want to maybe get one of those big wheels with that nice smooth ride and the added suspension thinking it will be better for my joints- what do you think?
Excellent Adam! Fortunately I’m now well past the initial stage. I would have liked to have seen this in October!! So, it’s a 👍👍👍 from me. Enjoy your Christmas and all the Best for the New Year. 🎉🎊💥🎄
isn't that the weak point? you can't smash the brakes with one wheel like you can with stable vehicles. that aside you decelerate by putting weight on your heels
just wanted to say thanks. I was able to ride the veteran sherman as my first EUC ever with the 2nd try thanks to this video. And I felt comftable in one day of riding.. it's really not that hard.
So different for me with no one remotely into it haha... I free-mount in the middle of a field, losing the wall before I knew you twist to balance... but it's so hard trust-leaning to accelerate and when I go remotely fast on pavement I get serious wobble. I've probably just done like 20m at a time. Running 40psi on a V8F so I'll drop it a bit and I'm sure it'll come fast, but just such a different angle to start lol. I just paced a wet, grassy field a bunch until I figured I could sorta turn and control speed. Everything here is wet grass or gravel covered paved paths right now so it's hard to trust turn traction.
What i found most important as soon as you go into the public, you should learn how to brake hard and step off you EUC without crashing. After around 80km on mine this turns out to be the hardest part, since you like to ride and not stop, you will neglect your stopping technique.
Hello mate. Watching your videos has made me want to venture into this EUC world and i want to learn now. I don't have any experience on any balance wheels before but determine to learn and i am fast learner. My question is which EUC will recommend I start learning with since i will most definitely scratch it alot. And i am quite a heavy guy. I weigh almost 100kg and i am 6'2ft tall. But i want an affordable euc i can buy to start learning before buying a powerful one after i know how to ride it properly. Thanks very much.
That's what I needed. I really was curious how this thing works, great! Maybe some day I will get one (even if these things are forbidden on roads here in Germany) Serdeczne pozdrowienia od warszawiaka z exile do Warszawy :)
I've been thinking of buying a wheel recently and I came across your channel. I'm enjoying your work, great editing too:) From what I've researched so far, I think I'll wait for the V12. I initially liked the s18 but the quality concerned me plus I think I'm going to need a bit more range. Shame though, I was going to get a white one and an imperial storm trooper suit:(
@@gareth5000 well, at least you ozs don't have to worry about salt in the winter! The kingsongs ain't dust-proof, corrosion due to "salt spray" from the slush is my major concern! Are you planning on upgrading?

Hej!
- sam przyznajesz. Moim zdaniem niesie za soba to dwie poważne wady. Pierwsza wada to nauka jazdy przed hamowaniem a to moze sie skończyć różnie (uszkodzenie przypadkowego samochodu itd).

Removing the tire is a real pain as there are so many screws and wires to disconnect just to get the tire out. The suspension in the V11 adds more work. I learned this from another YT video from another poster on the V11.

Cons for Scooter
* Not hands-free, so If I do want to ride and film a bit which would be fun it will be harder.
EUC Pro's
* 2 hands free to videofilm, maybe hold groceries if not too heavy.
* Storage space needed for it is good and portability is great. Taking it into stores are easier and so on.
* Looks fun, freedom to glide around, more nimble than the bulky Scooter.
Still that is where the Pro's kinda end with a EUC.
Cons
* Expensive as hell considering you can fall off them like 50 times your first months of riding them and even one fall can break them or you if you're unlucky. And then what, just pay another 2800$ for another one?
* More protective gear needed which drives cost further.
* More dangerous than a Scooter for sure, longer to break. A car might think you are a person walking and miscalculate the distance and so on which ends in a crash.
* Bad in snow and rain
* Can't be shared so easily, can't give anyone a lift and so on.
Sounds like you just made up your own mind.
There's no wrong answer and lots of variables to consider
Started on a onewheel but really don't like the companies increasingly more locked down models. I sold all mine except an older XR and just bought an Inmotion v11!
I’m a one wheel rider and I just purchased the in motion V8F it’s on back order I’ll get it in July will being able to ride a onewheel help in learning to ride this
Well done! I have been riding for a year, and wish I had this to start with. Currently doing very well on roads and bike paths, but have not tackled gravel roads or dirt trails yet. Could you do a video with some pointers for that? Thanks so much! My wheel is a V10.
How do you strap it to your wrist when your walking with it to prevent ppl snatching it off you?
Ok but that dismount and catch at the end was real life relationship goals.
Excellent video. A caution I have for new riders is that the wheel may spin like a top if it falls over on a failed dismount and can cause injury. It is important to get feet away from the wheel if it falls over.
It took me a while to learn to lean the wheel against my calf with most my weight on my dominant foot to start off.
Hello Elizabeth! I’m glad you like the hover board! For sure the big wheel is far more comfortable and also does well on worse road surfaces ;)
20 - 25 freedom units of pressure is about 1,4 - 1,7 bar.
Can you do a video on how to hook up a external speaker to the euc so you can hear the beeps ?
I really want a v11 as my first wheel but people are saying I shouldn't.
If I stick with it will it be a good wheel?
Excellent Adam! Fortunately I’m now well past the initial stage. I would have liked to have seen this in October!! So, it’s a 👍👍👍 from me. Enjoy your Christmas and all the Best for the New Year. 🎉🎊💥🎄
Good job on the video guys you make it look easy. Do you recommend any exercises to increase the leg muscle strengths specifically for unicycle
One of the most important things in the beginning I imagine would be to learn how to stop/brake (since shit will happen)
isn't that the weak point? you can't smash the brakes with one wheel like you can with stable vehicles. that aside you decelerate by putting weight on your heels
I would add that if you are falling to the left, turn to the left and vicaversa.
Thank you ! This is by far the best instruction I have seen!!
just wanted to say thanks. I was able to ride the veteran sherman as my first EUC ever with the 2nd try thanks to this video. And I felt comftable in one day of riding.. it's really not that hard.
What is the smaller white EUC he is on in this video?
There are so many of them i dont know which one to buy, afraid to buy one and it dont feel good. how to choose ?
Did you do a review on the mten3's?
Good video, very well explained, easy to understand, now let's try to apply all the tips. thanks
I love you too! 🥰 Wrong Way Family! ❤️❤️❤️⚡⚡⚡
Nice vid! Thinking about buying one to replace my ow.
Give it a shot!
Hey what wrist guard are you guys using i have been searching.
I just got my first EUC. Does the sweating ever stop or do I need to see a doctor.?
Is it possible for them to implement an side motion gyros? Or whatever they're using for stability
Hi, do you think I could push my kid in a stroller with EUC?
Hadn't seen that logo before. Diggin' it!
Enjoyable video
My first instinct (besides my self) would be to grab the wheel when it falls. This seems like simple but excellent advice. 😇
What i found most important as soon as you go into the public, you should learn how to brake hard and step off you EUC without crashing.
After around 80km on mine this turns out to be the hardest part, since you like to ride and not stop, you will neglect your stopping technique.
What is that model (white euc)? Seems smaller
GotWay mten3
10:22 I find grabbing checks are good too.
Okay, I will show myself the door.
I love the seal gifs. XD
If you would like to skip the into/tips then the video starts at 6:45
Happy holiday you two! Ride safe. Looking forward to more couple content in 2021. Bravo to your channel. 👍👍
how do these things handle bumps or coming off curbs etc
What's the name of the tiny white EUC?
Begode mTen 3
Thank you very very much.
You should keep your body straight like an ironing board when going straight, don’t bend at the hips. Also look ahead & your body/wheel will follow.
Great, now I'm learning it the wrong way!
No snow? Intense envy from Saint-Petersburg.

I've been thinking of buying a wheel recently and I came across your channel. I'm enjoying your work, great editing too:)
From what I've researched so far, I think I'll wait for the V12. I initially liked the s18 but the quality concerned me plus I think I'm going to need a bit more range. Shame though, I was going to get a white one and an imperial storm trooper suit:(
Hey there! Was considering an S18 too, could you point me to some forums etc.? Did you end up buying the V12 BTW?
@@qqnqqpart no, I got an mten3. Hard to mount, I wish I got an s18 now🤔
@@gareth5000 well, at least you ozs don't have to worry about salt in the winter! The kingsongs ain't dust-proof, corrosion due to "salt spray" from the slush is my major concern!
Are you planning on upgrading?
I still like the s18, maybe one day…
@@gareth5000 good luck and happy riding!
So I ride downhill longboarding. This seems like a solid replacement for my vehicle which just exploded. So are these good for regular work commutes of 20 or more miles
Im tired of using my longboard in the city
is it weird to go up and down hills on this?
Hej!
- sam przyznajesz. Moim zdaniem niesie za soba to dwie poważne wady. Pierwsza wada to nauka jazdy przed hamowaniem a to moze sie skończyć różnie (uszkodzenie przypadkowego samochodu itd).
Grab a Pol! Nice one
I've been asking around the streets looking for Poles to lean on, but there just aren't that many in Finland. I guess I'm not learning EUC then.
I often veered left when stepping on lol
should i get the mcm5 v2 or the mten 3?
mten 3 cost more at $100+
It was the hold a “pole’ for me 🤣🤣🤣
I thought I never be rewatching an old video but here I am. Alien Rides has heavy discounts on their wheels and I took the plunge for my first wheel. Time to be the first in my area to own the Extreme Bull Commander.
How has your euc been? I have a pretty fast scooter, and always wonder about the single wheel ones
@@vine2244 IMO scooters are "faster" unless your an EUC pro but the wheel been holding up really well and taken a lot of beating but wheel still chugging like nothing happened.
What’s the name of the smaller uni that your riding ?
what do you mean you can't fall flat on your face? i had 4 falls on my euc and 3 of them where cut outs when accellerating to fast...
Did you watch even 30 seconds farther or were you just watching until you found something "incorrect"? Literally the next scene is them saying you can overpower crappy ones easily.
Adam- at higher speeds to do a gentle turn/curve which knee to bend and extend forward?
Looking to get my first wheel. Any recommendations for someone who weighs in 230, taller bigger guy thanks .
$2000 range on the high side of my budget
@@ambrosedystopian1542 230kg? holy fuck
Very much satisfied with the product .
Brilliant video, fella. Very helpful. 👌 Just curious, I always wondered how easy or difficult it was to change a tyre one one of these things. What's your experience been? Is there a quick release feature to pop the wheel out to repair? Cheers 😉👍
Removing the tire is a real pain as there are so many screws and wires to disconnect just to get the tire out. The suspension in the V11 adds more work. I learned this from another YT video from another poster on the V11.
@@Mike_Malloy Thanks Mike. I did wonder. Flat tires are such a common, and nightmare task, on devices such as these or e-scooters etc so you'd think they'd incorporate a design to accommodate this headache. A quick release wheel as an extra feature would definitely get my attention if I considered buying one of these, that's for sure. 👍
Just received my first wheel. S22 pro 🤦♂️
Its a huge wheel. I didnt want to have to upgrade after 1 month.
Hopefully it wont be too hard to learn on that massive wheel

Now the wheel feels way lighter and I got use to riding fairly quickly.
@@kingdongo4388 That's great. When I speed up on the road it wobbles and I'm scared

Nice rebrand. I sugest medium mode for beginers. Hard on gotway is not "noob" friendly. Other eucs hard mode safe choice.
hey adam, do you have any advice for me when i Riding my kingsong s18 about 20KMH and making a turn in nice smooth surface, the S18 will wobble, it try to throw me off, if that something I can practice or change my tire pressure? please help, I am new rider, only have around 40KM experience. thanks.
How you break?
The same way you accelerate. Lean forward to go forward, lean back to brake. If you lean back enough, you can go backwards.
Awesome and fun video. I made my wife watch it so she can also start riding. Thank you
