- It was the slap heard ‘round the Interwebz! Slipknot’s Corey Taylor smacked wrestler Baron Corbin at last weekend’s Aftershock Festival, helping a grateful Samoa Joe win the WWE NXT match.
But here’s what you haven’t seen.
Earlier in the day, Corbin interrupted APTV’s backstage interview with Taylor. The trash talk and taunting, which eventually culminated in Corbin poking Taylor in the chest and Taylor thanking him with a smack, actually began at this year’s APMAS. It was there that WWE superstar and APTV correspondent Corey Graves first had words with Slipknot’s frontman, igniting a rivalry that spilled over to social media.
Following last weekend’s altercation, Graves Tweeted “#ThisAintOver.”

LMAO, that was a great interview. Love it when entertainment can cross promote like this. I had never heard of this before till I just received The Pit in my email about this. It showed the actual match between Corbin and Samoa Joe and Corey gets to get a good SLAP on Corbin's face. Just loved it. Corbin is a HUGE Slipknot fan, and also a former Football player and boxer. So Corbin can take a hit, and a slap from Corey is like being hit with a pillow to Corbin. But I'm sure they had quite a few beers and laughs together after the night.
