  • Adirondack Great Range Traverse vs Catskills Devil's Path
A commentary by Mike and Tom about which day hike is more difficult. Both hikes are considered to be among the "toughest" and "dangerous" by Outside Magazine and Backpacker Magazine.
These two hikes are part of the North East Ultra 8 (NEU8).

Thanks dudes. Headed to the Devils path, having done the great range the the presidential traverse its good to have some perspective on it that is not based on "top 10" lists or whatever!

You will have to let me know if our assessment is accurate. Thanks for watching! I have a bunch of ADK videos on my channel plus Devils Path. My friend did our GRT video at ruclips.net/video/DewpUCeNeZk/видео.html

Ben Nephew stated that the Devil’s Path is more ( to whatever degree ? ) difficult. That’s running it, mostly.

I think a lot depends on the time of year for each. Both offer similar terrain that can bite you if it is wet.

Just wondering why you guys decided to hike in the dark instead of camping for the night?

We do not mind hiking in the dark, plus we are working on our Northeast Ultra 8 which means we need to finish the hike in 24 hours.
