There's nothing like waking up with a fresh cup of Folgers in your cup or running into a cheap ass boss fight at the end of a video game great way to hang in there mate 👍🏾
The lore of 94 was that Rugal beat a bunch of the world's strongest fighters and turned their bodies into statues, as well as taking their moves (Reppuken from Geese, Kaiser Wave from Krauser, and maybe Genocide Cutter is a modified Flash Kick from Guile). But due to Geese's popularity, this was retconned two games later when the Boss Team showed up ALIVE in '96. They even hint that Eiji and Billy teamed up with Iori in '95 because Geese asked them to. Also, because of OG damage scaling, God Press and Genocide Cutter essentially turn into OHKO supers when Rugal is in MAXIMUM.
It never retconned. Rugal never intended to killed Geese and Krauser. Beat the game with Fatal Fury Team, and in the ending, you will see Geese and Krauser there, amused that someone can beat Rugal. So does in 95, Geese appear in FF Team ending.
When they revealed that Omega Rugal will be available on the new KOF I actually laughed thinking first try to beat the Rugal from 94 on level 8 in arcade. I used to spend hours and hours trying just that. 94 is the best. The moves are tough but worth learning.
Don't dodge his attacks, just block and keep charging and taunting, if you dodge he is more likely to come in on you. Also once he starts charging in response to you either charging or taunting, jump CD for knockdown, hop back and repeat. Just like he stands there and eats fireballs when charging, he won't stop even if you run up to him. You got the start of the strategy, but your handling of it was poor. Also first round, jump in with B, throw as you land.
Even on level 1 difficulty, this is the hardest KOF they have ever made.. Nearly impossible to beat.. I have seen people beat level 8 difficulty with ease though.. Some people just know how to make it look easy..
This Rugal is beating by crouch C and doing block all the time, I learn this on hard way at arcades :D and most easy team to beat Rugal in this game is Art Of Fighting and Ikari Team because their crouch C sweeps do good distance manage to pierce under Rugal anti air, when you do block and pressing him with crouch C he start do anti air only

personally, I think KoF is the only game where it's easier to fight another person than AI because the AI is design to be as broken as possible, especially the final boss...
According to Capcom/SNK lore, the guy that worked on Street Fighter left Capcom and created his own version of SF in King of Fighters. That's why there such an influence in the KoF games
ah yes i remember the suffering, specially when you try to clear the game with the Fatal Fury team and Rugal counters Joe Higashi leg sweep with a single genocide cutter dropping his hp from 100 to 0 in one go...
On KoF with Extra Mode (Chargable Meter) You have infinite Supers when your HP Bar flashes red. If you charge the meter with critical HP you enhance the Super.
This is the easiest form of Rugal isn't it? I remember 95 being harder, 98 harder then that, and 02 fucking the hardest with CVS2 being close. Max played this one on Level 4 Normal and everyone after on the easiest Level 1. There is a bit of difference I've noticed. The easier it's on the more defensive and counter based the CPU is and on the hardest difficulty the more up your ass and rush down it becomes. In later games on Level 1 the boss waits for you to move, on 8 it doesn't even wait for you to get up.
Joe is cake in '94 if you know the trick. If you stay defensive and toss out fireballs once in a while, he will eventually Flash Kick right into you. Block and counter with a throw. Rinse and repeat. The AI falls for it every time.

True, ss2 on level 8 is brutal. I could 1cc it on neo geo back in the days when it got released. I tried it again couple years ago, apparently I suck now 😆
Did he ever try AOF2?
@@carlosaugusto9821 that game sucks, I hated it but did beat it with everyone just to see the endings. Yt would have been nice back then lol. I did like the music and overall presentation of the game. Shame it plays like shit.
@@bigshorty4855 Aw man. As if it wasn't bad enough, a certain someone would also jump in if you were getting too good at it.
@@deadlyraver4454 you can actually fight him every even fight in the game, so like 6 x or so lol.
personally, I think KoF is the only game where it's easier to fight another person than AI because the AI is design to be as broken as possible, especially the final boss...
Justin, CPU in King of Fighter 94 are psychic.
According to Capcom/SNK lore, the guy that worked on Street Fighter left Capcom and created his own version of SF in King of Fighters. That's why there such an influence in the KoF games
11:35 Transformers! More than meets the eye! 🤣🤣🤣
i think the KOFXI boss is still the funniest with that energy sphere super that covers the screen
ah yes i remember the suffering, specially when you try to clear the game with the Fatal Fury team and Rugal counters Joe Higashi leg sweep with a single genocide cutter dropping his hp from 100 to 0 in one go...
Boss rage playlist finished good shit man! Excited to see you play sf6!

I whip my Loki/Robert back and forth!!!
Kim fake charging is insane
95 is only harder because of the Saisyu fight
Better you than me. I ain’t got the heart to get smoked like that.
Joe is cake in '94 if you know the trick. If you stay defensive and toss out fireballs once in a while, he will eventually Flash Kick right into you. Block and counter with a throw. Rinse and repeat. The AI falls for it every time.
0:03 Where's that "time up" music from?
edit: nvm, my brain searched my deepest childhood memories to find this was Sonic 's drowning theme.
7:20 CvS2 best fighting game ever made
Just curious Sir Justin,
Any thoughts on ninja turtles cowabunga collection?
Fighting game in it.
